Dylan Ryder Announces Retirement from Adult Industry

Venice – The Memorial Day holiday will be more memorable with the announcement today that Dylan Ryder is putting her career as an adult performer behind her. Following a very impressive showing in the 2012 Miss FreeOnes contest where it was announced last week that she came in second of 313, Dylan has decided it is time to move on and pursue dreams outside the industry.

Dylan was a substance abuse treatment counselor and then at 22 she opened a Penthouse magazine and opened her eyes to the adult industry. She started by sending her photos to an adult company, did her first shoot with Reality Kings and, and after taking a break during which she worked as a correctional officer in Arizona, she eventually returned to California and the industry, becoming a hugely successful star.

She was a longtime contract performer for Bluebird Films, has been a spokesmodel for Adelita Bar in Mexico, has starred in a television commercial and multiple billboard and print advertisements and was Head Nurse for DildoDr.com a glass novelty company. She will continue her work as a Fleshlight Girl.

In her retirement she will be opening up a private events lounge. She will continue to update her website with never-before-seen hardcore scenes and glamour solos. She also has a skateboard deck coming out from Ironlak, the international spray paint and graffiti artist supply company. She will appear in an upcoming issue of Velvet magazine, Picture Premium and Australia’s People magazine.

That would be the same Dylan Ryder who finished second to Vicky in the Miss FreeOnes contest.

I have to confess that I only heard of her via the Miss Free Ones contest. Doesn't look like we will be missing her though with all that she's involved in. I hope she does will and I do wish her the very best in all her endeavors.

In all honesty I don't think she tried at all for the Freeones contest. Did she tweet about it much? It was all her webmaster, (Puma's old webmaster) who is in very tight with Freeones. Do you know that he is still running a PumaSwede website and acting as if Puma is still there and active on it? He kept all her old content and is just rotating it. On that website, Puma private messaged all the members regularly asking them to vote for Dylan Ryder in Freeones. How crazy is that? Puma was in the contest herself, yet she is telling all her website members to vote for Dylan not her? You have no idea about the underhanded things that go on in this business.... so who knows what really happened or why she is really retiring.

You know, there are many in the industry who no doubt are trying to make a serious living doing what they feel, and doing it legally, trying to build a respectable industry (Vicky and the VNA ladies are excellent examples.) But there seem to be so many very disreputable folks inside who seem hell-bent on actually destroying it. They seem to feel they can make a lot of quick money, to hell with whomever they have to step on/climb over/steal from to further their own selfish ends. The sunzabitches could never make it doing a legal, professional job, so they crawl out from under whatever rock they live under to slander what they most likely actually feel is a disreputable industry that is ripe for whatever sleazy tactics they can devise.

Kind of like the snake who started swallowing his own tail.

Dylan seems like a nice girl...

I kind of thought retirement was coming when she shaved her hair all off last week....

The business is VERY difficult right now.... girls can sometimes make more money stripping at a local strip joint than doing porn....

It used to be that girls who came in where promoted on box covers and all over the world. Now... you hardly hear of a new face. DVD's are gone & girls are having a very hard time figuring out how to make the internet work for them...

I am sad to see any girl 'retire'... but in this business.. she is one rent check away from making a spectacular return. I wish her well for the future. I know she is on a lot of Puma's scenes if you want to go see more of her....

The business is becoming more & more a hells kitchen, where the girls get eaten up & spite out quickly when they have no taste anymore, like a gum.
It doesn't astonish me when a girl gives it up at the first good chance for an escape.

& yes Vicky, I've seen the tweet where Puma supported Dylan, but I thought she was Puma's friend & she did it because of that (stupid me, again ).
Now I've got the clue. Puma's ex-admin is a cheater, though!

I think it's interesting that stars like Dylan Rider and Shyla Stylez have "retired" from working for others but say they will continue to produce material for their own websites. Several years ago, porn was all about the hottest name/chick you could sign for a flick and put on the cover of the DVD. I almost wonder if some stars are "retiring" so that they don't get swallowed up by the websites that are hell bent on producing quantity as opposed to quality. Kind of like a little thumbing of the nose at Brazzers and the like.

Are you sure that it couldn't have been a fake tweet or PM from a faked up "PumaSwede" page??

I know that publically Puma did do some tweets for Vicky and other VNA members, so why would she undermine that privately with PM's for Dylan??

That would be like me tweeting openly for Lisa Ann while still being a mod for this board. That is, if LA has been running this year...

Oh, I figured that Puma wouldn't go that low, and that this was a fake attempt by linkbucks to pimp Dylan. But..sorry for the confusion.

That explains why they were so interested in jumping the gun and announcing to their affiliates the changeover. They were already scheming how to still work it for their own profit.
