I'm not sure if this has been discussed on the board before but during Puma's cam show today, I got to wondering which broswer works best for these cam shows. I've been using IE. When the problems started during Puma's show I switched to Chrome to see if it worked better. Anybody have a preference or knowledge of which browser would work best for the shows?

All I've ever really used is IE, so I can't be much help. I guess I could try the others, but I know there are members who have good experience with other browsers,

I like putting it in "full screen" so that I can see as many boxes (cams) as possible. It just makes more space by removing all the menus. You can toggle the menus on and off by pressing F11. I find this really useful.

I use IE for almost everything, but started having problems with audio during the shows. After switching to firefox all has been good, it seems more compatible to me and I haven't used IE ofr cam shows since switching.

the only problem with chrome is when i activate the webcam on my laptop.

the M$ webcam i use works fine, its the weird internal one that freezes the browser.

that might be a driver issue and they're not easy to come by.

Does anyone know how to put the browser in full screen mode without covering up the taskbar? I love full screen, but find it irritating that the time and the volume goes away. I know there is a way to do this, but not sure how.

In Vista, right click the desktop, select "Personalize." In the pop-up box, lower left of the page, look for "Taskbar and Start Menu." Click that. In the next box, under the "Taskbar" tab, look for "Auto-hide the Taskbar." make sure it's checked, click "Apply" then "OK." Your taskbar should disappear. Click your full screen box. Move your mouse down to the bottom and the taskbar should reappear.

In XP, right-click the taskbar in a clear area. In the box, on the Taskbar tab, click "Autohide the Taskbar," click apply, click OK. Sgsin, your taskbar should disappear until you move your mouse dowb there. open IE, (or whatever,) go full screen, move your mouse to the bottom and your taskbar (with the time, etc., should appear. Move your mouse and t will disappear.

Is that what you meant? The taskbar goes away, but is there when you need it, by simply moving your mouse down.

Wonder if that works on windows 7 too? So this would solve your problem of needing to get to the volume control while in full screen during a camshow right?

which browser do you use vicky?

For me in win 7 & chrome, i just leave the auto-hide box unchecked and the lock taskbar checked, and in chrome then i press F11 and it goes fullscreen. except the taskbar is still there, rather annoying when you want to watch a youtube fullscreen, but for your purpose it would work fine.

ps: Walt, you can get to the taskbar settings much faster by simply right-clicking the taskbar itself. find a spot that doesn't have an icon and click properties.

The task bar doesn't come up when I use F11 to go full screen (to get rid of all the crap at the top of the screen.) Is that your problem as well? Going full screen that way gets rid of all the menus at the top, but the task bar as well. That is where my problem comes from. A volume control on the models screen would fix that. But, I agree, too expensive to have them fiddle with it.

HT, even if "locked," The Task Bar goes away if you use F11. And yes, your hint is a better way to access the properties box. I knew there was a better way, but couldn't remember it.

VNA,

Dim non-geek blonds here and what might we know???

With Jeb, his geek friends, several laptops and PC hooked up all at once we have used almost all browsers. We like Chrome version 20.0.1132.47 m THE BEST! Great to go back and forth from full screen to others. Helps having an 8 X 10 foot screen and several systems. Shop "Projectors" at http://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=525462 Projectors are a porn investment that you will love and thank us for.

Dr. S. Firefox ate up our memory and slowed things down on 3 new laptops.

Others in the VNA using IE we find Microsoft chasing advances in Google Chrome by several months.

Just our observations, but we are newbies to watching this porn stuff on the Internet. LOL

Laura and Sue

That is exactly my problem Walt. I set it exactly like HT said, but when I go f11 fullscreen in chrome, i still lose the taskbar at the bottom.

Yeah, f11 blocks all other settings. Only other option I know is to use the full screen without F11. I hate that, too.

Well in vista F11 hides the taskbar with chrome, and in win 7 it still shows up in fullscreen.

Some moron at M$ made the choice to remove the "always on top" option from win 7, the auto-hide function is still there tho...

so Vicky you have a strange windows setup. So to clarify you do want the taskbar to always be on top of your app ?

Do you have SP1 installed?

ok i know why my taskbar stay onscreen, its cuz of the dpi settings. i need the dpi settings set to 140% for this 1920x1080 screen.

that is why my taskbar stays on top of chrome. i don't know if that will work for your program vicky, but doesn't hurt to try.

if you want that feature, here's how: How to Change the Display DPI Size in Windows 7
