I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and may you be with the ones you love. I'm at the farm right now, but driving home very soon, Gunther's on call so him and I will spend Christmas together, and I told all the kids from the basketball teams that my house is open for them. Almost 1/2 of them are from broken homes where alcoholism is the reason, and I got them all a gift certificate.

Last night I watched A Christmas Carrol with my nieces and we all laughed and cried, and tonight I'll watch It's A Wonderful Life. It sure is too, I pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming. I've been on Santa tracker keeping track of where he is so I make sure I'm in bed when he shows up!!

So I want to wish Vicky and Dave a Merry Christmas, you both give so much and you deserve nothing but the best. I love you bunches!!

To all the VNA girls, have a fantastic day, and of course the insane members that make this place everything that it is. You guys bring a smile to my face and sometimes tears to my eyes. So have an awesome day no matter where you are or who your with. For those that are driving WALT, drive safe damn it!!

I'll leave with this Christmas story from the farm. When I was a little girl we would go to my grandparents place Christmas Eve. Santa would always show up, when I was 5 and I do remember this he was coming up the stairs and I saw him. I ran to meet him and I slipped on the snow and went feet first into Santa. I hit him where you shouldn't hit Santa or any guy for that matter. He fell backwards down the stairs and broke his arm. Everyone made sure I was ok and they took him to the hospital, then I was told how I ruined Christmas and I remember crying so hard. My Grandma told them to leave me alone and took me into her room. She talked to me like Grandmas do and everything was ok in my mind. She then took me to the Christmas tree and took down an ornament and gave it to me. It's like a tiny wind chime with a monkey in the middle. She held it up and told me to blow on it and the monkey rang the chimes. We both smiled and she told me that monkey brings smiles to people's faces, just like I do!! Next day my Uncle Charlie came to the farm and his arm was in a cast, I asked him what happened. He said he got an unexpected gift from a special monkey last night. He messed up my hair, hugged me and said get in the house it's Christmas.

So everyone have a wonderful day, love you all and Merry Christmas

Dealing with a cold right now. Sore throat, headache, sneezing all day long, but with a little help from a few aspirins, I'm not gonna let it ruin the most beautiful time of the year. I'm celebrating it at my grandparents' house where the whole family comes together. My parents, sister, uncles, aunts, nephews and nieces ... don't have a clue yet of what it is we're getting for dinner, but I know it's going to be a lot, lol.

Merry Christmas to all of you!

Tomorrow Dave and I will be working a couple of hours at the shelter, i found some great deals on rawhides, so bought a slew of them to give all the dogs. I got enough to last for a while, so each night they can have something to do after the employees all go home and they are locked in their cages. Other than that, we are cooking a nice turkey with all the trimmings, and we are gonna stay in bed all day watching movies... Hope everyone enjoys their time off and gets everything they want!

GJ, sure hope you get better. It doesn't sound like you're too sick to eat, tho. Add a little honey and lemon to your Jack Daniels (or Egg Nog.) It'll work wonders. No, I didn't say it would make you well. If you drink enough of TheOldGuys medicine, after 3 or 4 you just won't care WHO the hell is sick. :lmao: Merry Christmas, my friend.

Hey, Paolo, Great to see you. Merry Christmas to you, my friend. Since Santa gets there before he gets here, don't be a hog and take all the computer games. Leave a couple for the chimneys in West Texas. :lmao:

Thank you Vicky. Christmas dinner is different in each region. I live in Naples, and the traditional dishes are:
1. Vermicelli with clams
2. Sea bass "all'acqua pazza"
3. Stockfish and salted codfish (from Norway! Prepared not like Lutefisk, but in the Italian way)
4. Fried large eel
5. Salads (Traditionals. Impossible to describe them!)
6. Traditional cakes and Panettone (I think it's sold in USA too)
7. Cassata (From Sicily)
8. Dried Fruits
9. Other things I don't eat because it's too much for my stomach...
