I read about the crappy treatment you got Vicky,and this is just complete bull! Too many flaws in their backwards ass system,one person says one thing,another person says something different,and then another person gives a way out of left field statement,those should have been huge red flags that something wasn't right there. It was also crappy that they wanted to charge you for electricity usage during the weekend. And of course,my heart broke and I felt for Angelina,and what she went through,only to be denied. That would break my heart as well and I don't blame Sara at all for her leaving. I don't think AVN is worth it for you guys anymore. Too much hassle and headache and of course,what in the blue hell was up with Pornhub winning?

If there's anything I've noticed from my time here as a member of the VNA,you have always done right by us,and we do right by you. I think there should be your own VNA fan convention. Set up for the members and also,as way to get new members in to join as well. It's trickier to pull off,but at the least,you would be in charge of your own set-up and streaming and whatnot. I think it could work out in the future. You could have your own fun awards to give out to the girls and some of the members as well. Just something to think about. And I agree for calling a boycott on AVN.

Mike is right in calling out members and advertisers of the industry. What is sad is that, given the crappy treatment and the PornHub "award," (excuse the expression,) the realization that many will continue to support AVN. It will be interesting to see who shows up next year, and what awards are again given out.

... out of ALL the shows we have ever been to, this was the most disorganized and frankly rude to the talent that we have ever been to....

AVN didn't think enough of the girls in the business to let them know they were creating a red carpet list, fucked up the registration to go and see the awards, fucked up our tables, didn't let me know what time I should go and use my press pass ( stopping me from taking pictures) and overall upset not only us but a LOT of people we know...

I personally don't mind someone in security threatening to thow me out of an awards show and entire casino even though I was an exhibitor with a VIP badge (because I was standing supposedly in the wrong place OUTSIDE the awards).... but I do feel bad for girls who spent money on dresses, hair, makeup and travel to get their moment in the sun, only to be told they weren't good enough to be on the sacred red carpet.. or if they were given a pass, that they were herded along like cattle...

Thanks AVN... it was amazingly.... fucked. Not sure if we will go back next year or not but the current mood is no....

We booked 3 tables with them for the convention, and have confirmation emails and diagrams showing the location of the 3 tables, but once we got there, we only had 2. They just said "oh well" you got what you got, we needed 1 of them for someone else, take it or leave it". Another big fuck you.

We really go to a lot of trouble to be at an event like this. Between XBiz and AVN we were out of town for 13 days, my bill at the Doggie Daycare was $869 and I don't think I even cleared $700 by selling DVD's and 8x10's at the convention. Not to mention $1000 to stay at the Hard Rock Casino, almost the same in LA for XBiz, $300 for rental car, $700 for airplane tickets, etc... plus I am now so far behind in work on all the sites it's going to take me weeks to catch up. It was fun to be with all the girls and the fans, I did meet two girls who asked to be part of VNA Live and I'll be following up with them shortly, but honestly AVN doesn't care about the industry anymore at all. Since they changed ownership, it's all about lining their own pockets. Yes I still want them to print our press releases because it makes the girls feel good to be on the front page of AVN news, but honestly we can make a lot of news and noise ourselves. Just look at all the press we got over TeamBJ? I think AVN as time goes on will become irrelevant. Especially now that they have exposed their true colors by giving an award to the biggest pirate in the business (Manwin/Brazzers).

I find this whole story astonishing. I saw some of the girls who were at the awards coming out & the fact that they could get tickets, but Carmen & others could not is BS. The fact that the awards are fixed & political is well known, but the fact that even the red carpet & show attendance is the same is retarded. That's not even going into the PornHub thing. Sadly, the fact that a pirate site won an award makes saying "these things wouldnt have happened if VNA was a bigger sponsor" an accurate statement instead of the joke it should be.

Though I personally had a great time at the show, hearing all this crap really takes some of the shine off of the whole thing.

I don't think the show itself was bad... but $80 for a ticket I think was steep. If you are into meeting stars up close there were plenty to be seen and to meet.....

... I do think the behind the scenes BS to be unnecessary and the changes to the red carpet disrepectful to the performers. As a fan you couldn't see the red carpet anyway since it was closed to the public. Bizarre since you need the public and fan pictures on the net.

I did. I was the guy with the short grey hair hanging out w Carmen & Charlie when they were there. I was there late on Thursday, a lot on Friday & part of Saturday.

The show wasnt bad, it was just very crowded & the arrangement sucked. The aisles were very narrow & the placement of the big booths made moving around very difficult, especially in Muse Hall. But there were a lot of people to see, so long as you were willing to fight thru to them.

Just to add to the ticket bs, I was actually offered a talent ticket by a very well known pornstar (not a VNA girl and not nearly hot enough or likeable enough to be one). Though it was originally supposed to be free, the person then tried to charge me $600 for the free talent ticket. I said no, but if id done it, I would have been at the show & probably on the red carpet. Which says a lot when a civilian can possibly walk the carpet but mega stars like Sara & Angelina cant.

I know Sunny brought her assistant Wendy with her on the red carpet, and Sara Jay's helper just walked right in with us. Yet Dave had to wait outside with Vanilla Deville's husband and some other husbands... and Dave had a VIP pass and a PRESS pass. Makes no sense at all. Then in the end they said if he had gotten there at 5:30 he would have been allowed in, but when he got the press pass they told him 6. The story kept changing all the time. I'm just sick of talking about it...

Agreed. For instance, look at the MTV Awards / American Music Awards / Billboard Awards ... if you have a category with 5 nominees and only 2 acts are attending the show, the other 3 are already screwed, cause 9 out of 10 times, the winner gets picked by rate of who's attending or performing.

As for the event we're talking about here, things went from bad to worse when Vasilis Kailis and Theo Sapoutzis purchased AVN. Two cypriots who have been tied to Manwin from the moment they bought AVN's assets in January 2011. We all know Manwin started and continued to buy everything they were able to get their hands on. YouPorn, Pornhub, Digital Playground etc. Trying to control the industry.

So, if AVN is (even) partly Manwin's and they give the award for "Best Free Adult Website" to pornhub ... isn't that like giving the award to yourself? The fact Kailis owns a big filesharing site is pretty shady, too. People pay money to advertise via AVN, yet the owner runs a pirate site, which is making money off stolen content, produced by the people that are advertising. That's just plain weird.

Want to go further in a conspiracy theory? "Favorite Body" and "Favorite Porn Star". Both awards went to Riley Steele. Hot! But the fact that she's Digital Playground's (*cough* owner: Manwin) exclusive contract girl is just a coincidence? AVN's "Twitter Queen", a queen that's not even a princess in Twitter world. Many adult stars on the web that are more popular, have more followers and are more influential, had not ever heard of this girl before! Fan Awards.

Walt, who will come to the AEE convention and the AVN Awards in 2014? I think the majority of the industry people that attended this year. And the year before. Nobody wants to miss out on the Oscars of Porn, not even if it's all fixed...
