all the run-off from the mountains to the west combined with 5 straight days of rain was more than the two rivers could handle. The entire river valley is flooded and spilled for the first time ever into the downtown area. The city was pretty much shut down today. Nuts!!!

I feel for ya, Mike, Connie and ShandaFay. We went thru that here in 2006. I was OK where I live, but numerous parts of town suffered pretty good. I just hope you all live on high ground and are ok, not subject to flooding.

So here is the deck that I helped build two weeks ago...1000 yards downstream from where it was last weekend. Thankfully there was only 1 fatality over the last few days...there could have been many many more.
We are hoping to save the deck if I can get some help from a few buddies who owe me a few favours

Today...sunny and 22 degrees :)

Forecast to hit 105F (40.5C) here tomorrow and Thursday. I don't care if this place catches on fire, I'm staying inside where it's cool.

Officially 107 here yesterday, 105 at my place. Record for the day was 113, tho, so I relaxed by the heater.

Transfered from the camshow thread...
stickyvicky wrote:HotWife called Rokkerr and told him no show today because she has no electricity! (he forgot to tell me till just now, lol... ) OMG can you imagine, it's like 118 in Arizona right now and no AC? Those poor people gotta be melting!
Oh my! I would dig me deep down into the earth to find a cold cave & rest there until its normal temperature above.
Or move to the South-Pole... :D
118 °F = 48 °C ...this is insane... All machines are dying away and the asphalt is like chewing gum. :scared:
I remember some years ago when it was so hot in France over weeks 40 °C +... that about 10.000 old, handicaped and ill people died away because they had no ACs in their hospitals & nursing homes!
You poor people in Arizona, Texas, New Mexico & Colorado... I'm suffering with you... :truce

Cooling down here - cooler and rain. 0.11" night before last and 0.17"last night. More forecast. Cool, too. Only expected to get up to 90 or so (32C) next few days. We had something like 14 days over 100. Highest I saw was 107 (42C).

Where's my long johns?

Wow and I thought it was hot here 31C. I'm at my cousins farm and was helping get the swather ready for haying. We both were sweating and went to the water trough and fell in. It's really cold but damn it sure helped for a while. I'm getting ready to drive home and it's cooler up north

oppressive heat here today...we hit 33 Celsius plus the reflective heat from the asphalt I worked on all day made it feel like 45. Thats something that we are not used to.

Got me a little heat stroke today...I'm sleeping in the basement tonight :P
