What we eat is so much of the overall picture. I broke down and bought another pizza today. I eat maybe one a month or less. I'm betting I'll throw half of it out. I'd rather lose the $5 than eat the whole thing. It recently occurred to me that a pizza is 90% - 95% white bread.

I love pizza, sometimes I will make it on my BBQ with a BBQ stone. It's equivalent to making one in a brick oven when I do it that way. The crust is so crunchy too.

I need to start riding my bicycle too. Everyday when I pull into the garage I see it and say to myself go for a ride, but it is just so hot here. I'm working this summer and have to buy a swimsuit which I have not had one in over 15 years. I hate swimming (which I don't know how) and I'm scared of the water, but was told I must go in the water cannot supervise from the side. I'm trying to psych myself into shopping today and after I see myself I will definitely be getting that gym membership :)

That's awesome you guys! It's never to late to start or start again! Thank God for muscle memory too! If you have been in good shape before it's not as hard to do it again...

Rokkerr and I went to the gym today for the 4rth time this week. While I didn't have the energy I usually do, I'm still glad I went. We are a little disappointed with our weight, you would think with how drastically we changed our eating habits, we would have lost more, but maybe it's because some of it is going to muscle.

I lost a full inch off my waist and 1/2 inch on my thighs so far, Dave has lost a full 2 inches off his waist! I guess we can't be so impatient... it tooks years to get where we were, gradually adding a pound or two a year.. and now we want instant results... lol.. typical huh?

Way to go Rokkerr :) It's hard to give up the things that you love. Mine was Coke...dropped that in December (thanks to you) ..boy do i miss Coke

I'm still eating bread but not much (toast in the morning with a microwaved egg in the shape of my toast) but have dropped the ice cream, cereal and sugar as well. I only have pasta once every 2 weeks or so. No bacon either.

Together we will conquer the Galaxy !!!!

Keep it up buddy :)

Don't know where to place this... but, OK...here is the story

It's Sunday morning (12:pm :sleepy lol ) & I'm still in bed half sleeping when I hear a strange noise from the housefloor.
Dammit! My boring neighbor again? You may remember the story when I gave him a hard punsh because he was about to attack me... :bitchslap: :signhammer:
Nothing on & barely seeing anything out of my eyes, I went to my door and was looking out of my spyeye in the door.
:wtf: Someone carrying a bycicle up the stairs and then pushing it through the housedoor & running off...
Rubbing my eyes to see better...WHAT?...That was MINE! :-devil:

My heart began to hammer that loud that I could hear it from outside! :heartbreak: :heartbreak: :heartbreak:
My bloodpreasure raised that high that I got earpreasur & couldn't hear anything until I swallowed some times.
...from almost 0 to 200%!
I was really angry!

I jumped into my clothes, shoes, helmet & leather gloves on, cellphone into the pocket & jumped on my motorbyke.
Driving with a breakneck speed I was searching for her.
Found her already 2 miles away from my home.
Under total stress & aggression, I've stopped an older woman (60-70).
Me: "Hey, is this your bike?.....No because this is MY bike!"
She: "XYZ (my stupid neighbor) told me I can take his bike to drive to town... etc....etc...etc..."
Not giving a damn shit for all her outrageous excuses & lies, I've forced her to bring my bike back by telling her: "Bring it back or I call the cops."
BTW... I can be very convincing when I'm angry. My face turns into stone & my voice becomes that hard that a master seargent would be scared.
& she was scared like hell... & she brought it back. I think she still was a little bit drunk from last night party & she looked very dirty & slutty.
I've banned her to enter my house again. Later, I've found out that she was the cleaning woman/GF of my stupid neighbor.
To him, I have to speak a serious word again :bitchslap:

OK, now my problem: One our later I felt something like sore muscles in my legs, arms & my entire back.
In the moment it feels as if I had a 10 miles course, with no training before...ugh! :situps:
What do you think? Was it because I got up like a rocket? Stress hormones or whatever?
Does anyone have such experiences like that?

:feedbackplease:

Thanks in advance :hatsoff:

Carl I have not experienced anything like that, but please be careful. It is those little signs that people don't listen to and end up being a very big problem. :heartbreak:

I am walking every day then I do tire tosses (4 car, 1 SUV), krunches, step ups on a tractor tire and anything else I might come up with that really gets me burning calories. After months of not doing regular exercise some days are harder than other. I also do some martial arts things.
:hula:
Enjoy each day we are not promised tomorrow!

I read this and printed it out, it hangs in the gym

Dear Stomach, your bored, not hungry; so shut up!

Most of the time when we feel hungry, just a glass of water is all we need!

I need to apply that more, Julie. I know that when I feel hungry, if I drink a little water, the hunger goes away. That's one reason I used to drink so much. There was a neighborhood bar across from work. So, at noon, we'd go over there and start shooting pool and would start with a beer. Well, after that first beer, I wasn't hungry, so eating was forgotten and drinking wasn't. And, of course, on an empty stomach, the alcohol has a clear shot to your bloodstream.

I'll try to remember that. I know that I eat more out of boredom than anything else.

Have a 10K Fun Run. We could put you naked out in front of about 10 VNA members and you could try to get away. :rotffl: :yeahbaby:

You'll lose those 2 lbs so fast Vicky, your a running machine!!

Nuts are a double edged sword HT, I eat almonds in the morning, 12 max. There high in protien that your body needs first thing, but also high in fat, so if your eating them at night........

We had our first track meet yesterday for the gym, I was so nervous it was going to be a total flop, not many people had registered or volentered. We were raising money for Muscular Dystrophy, and by yesterday morning had raised just over $100. It was only $20 for a family or $5 to enter and that included a BBQ. We started to get things set up by 10 to be ready for noon. We put up a kick ass obstical course, two of us went threw and I was sweating so bad at the end! What we had was first jump up and grab a footbll crossbar and hand over hand to the middle, ring a bell, then throw a 12lb medice ball over the crossbar5 od dna pu shups. Run to some cones and do a sprint to a cone (20 yards) then back and sprint to the next cone (40 yards) and back. Go to a balance beam and walk it as you hold an egg in a spoon, from there you ran about 100 meters then up some stairs and grabbed a ribbon and ran back to the hop scotch that you did ad you carried 2 15lb dumb bells. After you pulled a tire to you and then picked it up and ran it back to where it needed to be, and then grabbed the skipping rope doing 50. From there you crawled under a net, then ran threw the tires, then onto the track carring 50lbs in a farmmers carry, 25 yards and back, from there you picked up a dumb bell and ran 20 yards, signed a paper and put it in your pocket, running back to do 20 bunny hops, finally you did an inch worm with pie plates on your feet so you can't cheat 15 yards, then run (if you can) to the finish line! It took me 7:22, and every bit of energy I had. The fastest time was done by an 18 year old boy 4:49, he's an awesome athlete, as everyone is!

We started at noon and with all my worring, by 12:30 there were close to 200 people there. The events we did were the 100, 200, 400 meter, long jump, standing jump, and ball throw. We ran different age groups for the kids and did an adult compatition. It all turned out a success, we raised just over a $1000, and the guys that supplied the food for the BBQ matched what we raised, so we gave Muscular Dystrophy of Canada $2,110. Was so much work, but we all said we would do it again next year. :mrcool:
