You won't know until you try, and honestly you'll probably have more energy once you lose weight. So don't work out then, change your diet, that a lone will make you lose weight to a certain point but the best way is to exercise & eat properly. There's people on here willing to help but we can only do so much, it's you that has to get started and do the work.BadKitty wrote:I'm a nurses assistant and sometimes I work overtime too, and 12 hour shifts occasionally. I just feel so tired anymore, like I can sleep all day and still be tired and I hate it. And I know working out will make me more tired!

Kitty, very good advice from St1fler! Stiffy works out and is a (what, Stiffy, body Sculpter?) Stiffy, Like Julie and Vicky, works out and trains. You should have seen him a year ago vs now. Stiffy, please post one of your earlier avatars alongside the one you are using now. The difference in the two is striking and obvious. Post those two to show her what happens.
No, Kitty, working out will make you feel better! And I know our exercise Gurus will back me up on this.
Yes, the first few times might make you feel a bit tired. But, that will pass pretty quickly. Your body was meant to be used. It wants to be used. Even after your first exercise stint, you might feel a bit tired But you will notice that your muscles and overall feel pretty good too. Your body will feel better, you will feel better about yourself. And each day you will feel better and better and better.
Right now, you are just making excuses. You come here and say you want to start and ask for advice. Then, when people give you advice, you list all these excuses why you can't. That's all they are, Kitty - excuses! Not one thing you have said is an actual impediment to you exercising. Every one of them is an excuse!
It will not start happening until you stop the excuses and truly decide it's time to stop the bull shit. I would say that the best time to do something is when you wake up. But, even after a 12 hour shift, you have time to do something. And the best of all? You will find that you will even sleep better. Think about it, Kitty, we're not talking about hours of training here, we're talking minutes.
We've said it before, Kitty. It's all up to you. YOU are the only one who can stop making excuses and get started doing something.
Tomorrow morning, when you get up, do something. Get a couple of cans of beans from the kitchen. Yes, a couple cans of beans. Hold them in your hands and do arm exercises. Do them while marching in place. Pick a number of reps - even 10. Now, do that every morning. Then, go take your shower. Then, after one week, add 5. Do that until you get to 20, then stay on that for awhile.
Ok, there's the advice you asked for. Now, no more excuses. Like Stiffy says. Start tomorrow.

I'm working out almost every day
Awesome advice guys for Kitty, your both right it's just excuses! I don't think anyone on here has said "go run a marathon!" Now that would make you tired out, but just do something other then say you can't. Doing some exercise will get your blood pumping and give you more energy and you won't want to sleep your day away. You say sometimes you work 12 hours, oh let me have your short days, please. I'm in the gym around 5am and lots of days I'm not home till 10-11pm, so time doesn't cut it sweetie! If nothing else walk faster, just get your heart rate up and you'll feel so much better and make the smart choice when you eat. It's just discipline, really, a small change is the first step and tell the excuses to the wind cause that's where they belong. You can do it, but it takes you

It won't, working out will give you more energy. Maybe not right at first, you will be tired, but if you just stick to it you will see. And when you sleep, it will be much more quality sleep, you will sleep sounder and deeper, and maybe even sleep less, and feel refreshed when you wake up. If that is not the case then there is something wrong with you, low thyroid, or low vitamin B or something... if working out doesn't make you feel better like it should, you should go see a doctor. It's scientific, it has to. It gets your endorphins and metabolism going.
And stop with the excuses. It's all about priorities. If you have an appointment book or a calender or schedule you keep, write "working out" in your agenda. It's just as important as going to work. You wouldn't miss your shift at work would you? Well give your workout equal priority and look at it the same way. It's an appointment you need to keep.
Everything we do in life is decisions. Just make the decision and decide that it's important to you, and it will change your life. Your girlfriend should work out you too, skinny is not sexy. Shapely is sexy. Muscle tone and definition is sexy and healthy. Being skinny is just being skinny. Personally i prefer someone with some meat on their bones!

So how do we motivate you? We've tried everything we know so far.
You have time to come hang out with the VNA. Take 30 minutes of that and start exercising. Are you eating better yet? On the way home (or on the way to work,) stop and get a salad. Cheaper to get the fixin's and fix one at home. Take it to work with you. A bit of non-fat dressing and you're on your way. When you have a break at work? Go outside and walk around the building at a brisk pace. Twice. Then come back in, stop in the break room and have a cup of green tea, sweetened with honey.

Sorry, Dear, gotta add more. You know, you come to cam shows and you get on cam and you smile and you laugh and you joke with us. Then you turn your cam off and you get miserable. You say you are sick of feeling bad, but every time we suggest things that are just about guaranteed to help you, you blow us off with "I'm just not motivated...it's too hard with being so sad all the time and working my ass off."
Do you carry all this misery around with you when you go out? Did you ever think that a negative attitude is what is pushing people away? Why not get outside and, yes, "SMELL THE ROSES!" Look around you and think about how freaking good you've got it. Kitty, there are many people who have it much worse than you do. And they are in much better moods, too. You are the only one who can take charge of your life, grab your ass by the straps, lift yourself up and get your ass moving. Until you reread the advice that has been given here, get pissed with your miserable life, look in the mirror and say, "ENOUGH!" go out and buy some decent food, start some small modicum of exercise and start looking at the GOOD things in life, you will go no where. You will continue to sit in your own sour, feeling sorry for yourself and being lonely. We cannot come there and drag your ass outside to get busy.
We love you and want you here. But we want the whining to stop. We want to hear positive. Please, go back and read Julie's thread, "I Have a Date." Then read, "In Court." Julie was in jail, for crissake. And look at her now. She's got a great husband who has a great job, she is involved with her community, and she is happier than she's ever been. And, why? We damn sure didn't do it for her. We did offer her support. But, you know what? She took that to heart. She realized, "Gee people DO care. People DO like me." And she got up off her ass and went out and got that life she wanted.
Read all of both. Learn how it's done. Read what you can one day and note where you stop. Then go back the next day and read some more. Continue until you're done. Look at it like a good book. Once you're up to date you will have a different feeling about yourself. You will think, "Wow, I can do it."

You know, people get tired of hearing only the negative, the "Oh, poor, poor me. I'm so lonely, I'm so ugly, I'm so useless."
So, until you get the hell up, start tomorrow morning with a new, happy attitude, buy some salad fixin's and start doing some exercise and start looking at life with a fresh set of eyes, you're going to keep feeling miserable. And, if you don't want to listen to our advice and take it to heart, then please don't ask for it. We're not sitting here yapping just to make sure our mouths still work. We're trying to help you.
I hope I don't piss you off. But, if I do, it's because I love you and I want you to say, "Hey, guys! Look at ME! I've lost 5 pounds in the last two weeks. And, I feel GREAT!" THAT'S what we want to hear from you. So, start something or don't. But don't come here looking for sympathy. You don't rate any.

Walt welcome to the world of fitness, you do what you can, try to inspire, but there's no helping excuses, or dare I say it, course I'll say it, lazy. Sorry BK but your excuses I've heard from so many people, and I smile and say "that's a load of crap, but good on you!" Please don't complain about being tired or your love life, cause it's your choice, and only your choice. Vicky if I said to much, please feel free to delete it

Thank you, Julie. You validate my comments. Now, let's see if Kitty will make a New Years resolution and get out there and get started.
And, "...to those that win the events I'll make up on the spot, fuck being prepared!"" Seriously? No wonder I love you so. You're so ingenious, so bold and daring, and so damn much fun. Happy New Year, girl, to you and Gunther.

I've very much enjoyed reading the comments in this thread for quite a long time. I've been the guy many times who was full of excuses, unmotivated and lethargic. I've also been the highly motivated individual, full of energy, having fun outdoors, and yes, I did run marathons a few years ago.
Circumstance and health motivate all of us to do certain things in our lives, and I've been on both side in my life. My weight and controlling it has been a lifelong struggle, mostly because of a few factors, but what it comes down to is feeling good about yourself. When you feel good, no matter what the number says on the scale, you want the feeling to continue. It's like a self-high, and feeling good about yourself makes you want the feeling to continue because it feels good.
I hope that BadKitty finds something in her life to "feel good" about and make a few simple changes that will give her that feeling every day. That's what I'm going to do this calendar year. Even if I don't see an immediate change in my bathroom scale I know that I'm going to feel it first in my body so that when I wake up in the morning I won't feel so sore, so that when I get up from a dinner table I won't feel so full, and so that when I go to bed at night I'll know that I made an honest effort to have a decent day.
I'm looking forward to this year. I'm off to a decent start...not perfect but certainly better than a few days ago. I'm heading out for a walk...One day at a time.
Cheers
Mike

Kicking Ass and Taking Names :)
Well...
Yesterday I pigged out at the Chinese buffet so I thought today was good day to start...
I downloaded this "Pacer" app, that counts your steps, counts the miles, and even calories... I started at 3 pm and went until 4:30pm... and this was only running/walking up and down my driveway, but...
It says I ran/walked 2.7 miles in an hour, and burned 161 calories. And that I had 6,468 steps. It could be wrong, and I don't know if I totally believe it...but it can't be that far off. And for running for the first time after I don't know how long, it can't be that bad either.
I want to try new things this year, whether it's food or experiences. I'm a VERY picky eater, so this whole losing weight thing...eating healthier and trying different things is going to be harder than me going out and running.
I tried fried rice at the Chinese buffet. Sure, probably not healthy if it's fried, but it's something I've never really had. I didn't really like it though. So I can't say I didn't try anything new that day.
And I'm going to eat two nice oranges right now, while I watch our beautiful Monica, and then, Vicky. So if I look gross, and sweaty, and blushed, it's because I did this!
I also did it in 32 degree Pennsylvania weather! GRR. >:[
I hope you guys are a little proud. It's day one, but yeahhh... :')

Sounds good Kitty. Now keep going.
Good to try new foods but just try something that does not have a lot of fat in it. U have to learn to eat healthy fats.
Include the outer part of your yard in the walk just to change it up a little.

Enjoy each day we are not promised tomorrow!
I'm very proud of you BK, now don't stop! Yes that many steps would be about 2.7 miles, there's a formula for steps/mile, but I don't have it in front of me. Walking is great, if you want to break it up, try skipping or a high knee march and the calories will go up with that, but either way, just keep going! Hint, drive your arms as you walk!
Yes Mike our health will control what we can do, to a point, always see a doctor before hitting it hard!! Just listen to your body, it will tell you when you've pushed it to far. Muscle pain is a good thing, joint and back pain aren't, a simple adjustment in what your doing will stop that.
I'm going to be softer & more fluffy this year, if you believe that, your more insane then me! Lets make 2016 a year that we all feel better about ourselves!

Good girl, Kitty. Now all you have to do is keep that up. Just do the same thing each day, for maybe a week. Then add a little to it. If you have a high school track you can use, go there and walk around once. Whatever, just try to do the same thing you did today, everyday.
Eating? I don't know what you like/don't like. But, maybe try a glass of slimfast every day. I don't know. Just try to work on fruits and veggies. I think I mentioned before, I like raw veggies but not cooked. I think the cooked are somewhat more nutritious, but I look at it this way. If I'm sitting here in the evening eating a few baby carrots and a few broccoli crowns, I'm not eating cookies or chips or frozen food.

An orgasm is when a woman is sexually happy and she shows it. Sometimes many times. A climax is when her toes curl up so hard they cramp, her pussy grips you like a set of Craftsman lock grips, and she stuffs a pillow in her mouth to keep the people at the mall five miles away from hearing her joy!
