Mom is home although along with the blood clot in her leg, she has another clot in one of her lungs. Doctor trusts her enough to be at home and if something isn't right that she'll be back to the ER. Along with all of the other medications she is on, she now has a blood thinner that she has to take twice a day for thirty days via injection and then it goes down to once a day. I appreciate all the support from everyone, really means alot to me

I've had a few scares the last few months with my Mom as well. Nothing is the same as what you are going through. You are lucky to live close to your Mom, I'm sure she is very thankful for everything you can do for her. :theman:

Just a quick update, the doctors have decided to change her chemo medicine because the one she has been taking was causing her red & white blood cell counts to drop. So she's now waiting for them to get her new chemo pill prescribed. She's doing better and moving around more now so hopefully things are moving in the right direction

Another update. Mom now has a broken right humerus and needs a rod inserted into it to stabilize the bone. Not sure when that surgery will take place but I'll keep everyone updated

Update, surgery is on Monday, same procedure as what was done for her leg. Also she has a bone scan scheduled for Friday

Great news, Corey. Tell your mom there's this OldFart you know who is sending her hugs and best wishes.

Why do they always send you home in the middle of the freakin' night? They cut you open, stir everything up, then make you get up and go the hell home. When I had my MC wreck (one of them, lol,) the Dr wanted to send me home right away (broken collar bone, but no apparent internal injuries.) But, because I had no one at home to help care for me, the nurse fought to keep me in overnight (and she won, lol.)

Update and it's not good news. Mom has two spots in her skull, one behind her nose and near her right ear. The right side of her face has started to droop, and my brother & I thought she may have had a mini-stroke but dad said no, he asked about it. She starts radiation for that today and continues radiation on her arm as well. However, I talked to my brother after I got home tonight and he had talked to dad on his way home from bowling. Dad told him that the doctor said that the cancer has spread into her kidneys and bladder but she hasn't been told yet. As soon as I have any more information, I'll let everyone know
