George, if you're on a tight budget, here's a suggestion.
https://www.hotels.com/hotel/details.ht ... SX=0&SYE=3
(One Bed in 10-Bed Mixed Sex Dormitory - George, if you stay here you may never make it to AVN.
When I was on the bum in Detroit we stayed at the shelter in the winter. We called it "a hot (meal) and a cot." The meal, of course, was warm sock water, but it was warm. Once I even got a bean in mine. Well I think it was a bean. It was gone before I could look and see.
This place looks like a cot and the front door, lol.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Hard Rock FINALLY has a new dining place...
http://www.culinarydropout.com/location/las-vegas/
The menu is reasonable...
http://www.culinarydropout.com/wp-conte ... 20_WEB.pdf
... and you can get a $20 gift card if you get a $100 dining certificate
http://thefox.securetree.com/Products/Gift-Cards/
Might be perfect for a post show dinner...
Unlike other shows we normally have a VNA Members Gathering the final day
Vegas on Saturday is the red carpet and awards show
Sunday most girls/fans scatter onto planes and are busy checking out...
Maybe our member/vna girls get together should be ... dare I say... planned for Friday night?
There is also a Hooters down the street... and HofBrauHouse... http://www.hofbrauhauslasvegas.com/

I'm no stranger to hostels. When I was younger I did a bit of traveling abroad and stayed primarily in hostels. It made for some interesting experiences.WalterB wrote: This place looks like a cot and the front door, lol.
I had better bring my Lederhosen...rokkerr wrote:

Still looking over my options - I'll probably try to fly in Tuesday and out on Sunday. Anyone ever stay at the Stratosphere or Circus Circus?

Stratosphere is a bit far down the strip... but half way decent. Circus Circus has seen better days...George B wrote:I'm no stranger to hostels. You might even want to consider the Hooters Hotel across the street...
or... there's an $84 special on an all suites hotel around the corner

we just stayed at the Stratosphere last week an NO I don't recommend it. It was horrible! They didn't have our room. The room they put us in had two queen beds and one of them looked like it had just been used by the white stuff left behind....the tv did NOT work...the halls were filthy! It was just gross...not worth the money at all.
Heads up...most Hotels on the strip will be charging for parking as of the new year. They just had it on our local news.

I usually stay at a nice motel a ways from downtown. The big fancy hotels are nice but yes, you pay for them. And, to have to pay for parking? That's like having to pay Delta Airlines $25 to take clean underwear and a toothbrush with you (one reason I fly Southwest. No baggage fees.) "$112 for the room and $35 for parking, Sir. That'll be a final gouge to your credit card of $147. Oh, wait, there's also tax, service charge, loan initiation fee, Police background check, and the hot water charge, the maids tip, the cooks tip, the valet parking tip. What? Didn't use it? Well that's a standard charge, sir."
"Ok, Vicky It's time. Show him your tits."
"Oh, wait, sir. I made a small miscalculation. Looks like your final bill will be $12."
I can stay in a nice motel down the road (who cares if it's 6 miles?) for $75 or so, free parking, internet, breakfast, all you want. I may even look into the AirBnB thing that Carmen mentioned. That looks nice.
Hell, maybe I'll just stay with Carmen.

Downtown you find better deals overall... like this one...
https://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Revie ... evada.html
It's a bit farther for an uber ride to the Hard Rock but the slots and the food are usually quite cheap... and surprisingly decent

Nice price, but...,
$8.95/night for "complimentary" Wi-Fi? Do they not know what "complimentary" means?
But that's still a good price.
Still looking....

I was inspired again to look at costs. I use Expedia or Alaska Airlines and it being Vegas you can get package deals.
Walt the Hostel would be $400 that does include airfare except the airfare to get out of village. There were actually some Hard Rock rooms available. the best deal was the Mandalay. I could afford it if only I didn't have the village to Fairbanks. I am waiting on my village differential check but for us new teacher they don't like to hand it out until you come back from winter break.
I don't know Vegas and to be honest it has never been high on my to do list (lights, noise, crowds) but what hotels are close to Hard Rock?
