Well that was a quick and expensive trip into Fairbanks. I must say that is the first time I have really seen Fairbanks in the light. Indy did have to have surgery and they are trusting me to remove the drainage tube because I am not flying back to Fairbanks in 5 days. Indy did well his first time traveling by himself without Bridgit. One nice thing about the trip is I got to have a beer and a hamburger and french fries restaurant food. I have had little sleep the hotel was noisy and Indy although still drugged kept me up. Flight back the stacked boxes of groceries on his kennel. They told me it was only 30lbs. Of course we were the first off the plane and I got him into the truck but I stood waiting for his kennel to be unburied. Bridgit has gotten needy in her old age. It was rough on her me being gone overnight. Coworker said she went up on the tundra did her business pouted and wanted to go back to the house. She is even trying to play with Indy. I am keeping him on leash. Sad thing he has not learned his lesson. Back outside we go for another shot at pooping.

Glad you got to enjoy Fairbanks. I drove up there from Anchorage one winter to pick up a friend. It was -50F. Yes, MINUS 50 DEGREES FARENHEIGHT! My car was winterfied for Anchorage, so was good for about -20. When we left Fairbanks headed back, as we headed out of town, suddenly the engine started heating up. Got so hot I had to stop and call a wrecker. They towed it to their garage, lifted the hood and just let it sit under a large heater fan, lol. Then filled it with antifreeze, no water. Whole thing cost me $200, which would probably be around $400 in today's money. Mickey paid for my gas but I had to pay the wrecker bill, lol. I told her she'd have to fuck me once we got back to Anchorage. Yes, it happened, lol. We were good friends and she loved to party. At one time she was a stewardess for Reeve Aleutian Airlines, mostly flying the chain and lower Alaska, down to Juneau, etc.

Turned out, driving the car is what froze it up. As the fan pulled that icy air thru the radiator, that's what froze up.

Mickey:
One weekend Mickey had me drive her down to Valdez, when they were building the Alaska Pipeline. Valdez was always rocking due to some workers always having time off. It partied pretty much 24 hours a day. We took some girlfriend of Mickey's and some guy, so had to deal with them fucking in the back set while we drove. Mickey couldn't stand it, so she slid over and pulled her pants down. (My Pontiac had bench seats, lol.) I tried finger fucking her while I drove, but I couldn't stand it either. I pulled over, we all went at it, then headed on down the road. :lmao: We got to Valdez at something like 2 AM (about a 3 or 4 hour drive from Anchorage.) Mickey put me up in a hotel and gave me spending money, then she went off to fuck for bucks all weekend. When we headed home, she said she had made around $3,000, which would be maybe $6K now (this was in about 1977.) We drove back Monday morning, Mickey sleeping. She didn't get much sleep in Valdez, lol.

Was it a great weekend? Yeah, you could say that, :rotffl: Ask me now why I loved Alaska. :rotffl:

(Nothing to do with dogs, tho. Sorry for the hijack, :lmao: )

Indy seems to be doing ok. The neighbor is helping with the gross stuff (ie cleaning, drainage). I am concerned about frostbite where he has been shaved so not staying out long annoying Bridgit.

10,000 ft flight to Fairbanks

Indy and I chilling in our hotel room after surgery.

Best wishes to Indy. I know you'll take great care of her. Looks like her owie is where she can't lick it.

Off topic, what kind of plane did you fly on? And no, I don't mean one with two engines. :rotffl: (Great picture by the way.) But I understand if you don't know what type. I was just curious. One thing I enjoyed about Alaska was all the flying around I got to do, most often on smaller aircraft of some sort. Even in a DC-3 once when I flew out the chain to Nikolski via Dutch Harbor. Now, on MS Flight Simulator, I'll fly a DC-3 either from Nik to Anchorage, or even back the other way. Have even flown it to Nome and Kotzebue and on up to Cape Lisburne.

Walt it is a Cessna 8 passenger 9 when passenger sits in co-pilot seat. I find the leg room better on the Cessna than a 737, but you really have to bend over to get around the Cessna and you have to unload and sometimes load your own luggage. On the way back they put 30 lbs of freight on his kennel so to get to his kennel I had to help unload the freight while Indy sat in a warm truck.
Indy is a boy/he. Neighbor/co-worker is helping me with the gross cleaning stuff.

He might not get to ride in my lap but atleast he is behind me.

This is a brand new plane that replaced the plane from the crash last Jan 2016 so nice floors. I have been on planes with just the wood floors showing. I like the puke bags...plastic baggies.

Yea, sometimes it's hard to know what you might be getting up there, lol

Sorry, Indy. Didn't mean to call you a girl, lol. I kind of thought Indy might be a boys name but I was too lazy to scroll back thru the topic and look it up. Guess I was wrong. :signhammer:

Walt everyone seems to call poor Indy a she. His grandmother and uncle who have known him since 2010 still call him a her. The vet office was even calling him a her. Maybe that is why he tries to hump big male dogs. He is on the mend and his hair is growing back very fast. Still worry about frostbite. I need to get his boots on his back feet because he scratches the spot.

Big drama in the village. A young boy who is the tiniest skin and bone kid was attacked by 2 loose dogs. One they were most likely starving, two I am sure he teased them, and we must hope they were not rabid since no one except teachers dogs get their shots. Plus foxes have been spotted close to the village. A student claims he shot a rabid one the other day. The two dogs were quickly shot. I saw pictures and it was bad. They even drug him off into the willows. That is what happens when you starve your dogs and leave them on a chain with no attention.

OMG that is a tragedy for everyone involved. How horrible. Is there no spca or any type of help for dogs out there at all?

Yea, right. Lucky we even have one police officer and depending on who it is we humans feel somewhat protected. Registered sex offenders are allowed in the school.

The young boy is back in class loud as usual. Animals out here are treated not well. It is tradition to have dogs although they do not use sleds anymore. They are used as bear security in summers at camp. Well some are. It is very sad and difficult for me to watch. The teacher that feeds Dike has had some negative blow back.

Bridgit acted out again yesterday running off the tundra into the village because neighbors had thrown some food out. I am already stressed because my boss is in town and all I want to do is yell at her and ask her why she fired me. She is uncomfortable being around me, but I have learned much about her. This is the most she has ever spoken to me or even helped.

Neighbor coworker found some dried caribou meat and her dog did not want it. she has a foo foo dog. She gave it to Bridgit instead of Dike. Oh Bridgit was happy and she even rolled in it. I'm not happy because she stinks. I noticed when she came to bed last night. I really think her daddy was hybrid.

I left her in the commons to eat until she begged to come in with her meat. I didn't want her eating in front of Indy although I was able to cut some meat off the bone to give him. I also gave him a can of chicken.

Fred seems to like chicken a lot. He doesn't like too much dry food or snacks, but he does like the snacks with chicken in them

Here's a thought for all you dog & cat lovers in the Us (and UK too). Did you realise we have the NSPCC (NATIONAL Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children) but the RSPCA (ROYAL Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals).
We are supposedly a nation of animal lovers, so priorities I guess.

Looks like he's having fun at least.

An orgasm is when a woman is sexually happy and she shows it. Sometimes many times. A climax is when her toes curl up so hard they cramp, her pussy grips you like a set of Craftsman lock grips, and she stuffs a pillow in her mouth to keep the people at the mall five miles away from hearing her joy!

Dr Dave if you meant having fun with the raw caribou that is Bridgit SHE is having fun.

We have concluded Bridgit should have been a drug dog or cadaver dog. The girl can sniff out buried treasures under ice in the middle of no where. The nastier it and stinker the more she loves it. If good and stinky she will roll in it before eating it. Being where we are now salmon is not around which she loves. Having pretty good luck finding bits and parts of caribou though.

WARNING: photo ahead is not for vegans or hardcore PETA people unless you are a member of PETA people eating tasting animals.

It is very hard for me when I am out in a village and see dogs chained and that is it to their life. The following photo focusing on the two caribou heads, but it also has Indy's boyfriend...the dog who took a big bite out of him. He is a sweet dog and reminds me of Balto. the puppy is a new addition. These are dogs are pretty well taken care of as in fed. that is about it.

Yesterday while out walking dogs after work they were visible to the village and I was not. A snow go starts to approach and I'm thinking one of my students. It was an adult who drove at Bridgit then he saw me and turned around. Wolves have been spotted close to the village and I guess he thought she was a wolf. She is tiny for a wolf maybe she could be pup size but she is also red.

Indy has healed up nicely and his hair is growing back.

We finally made across the river and to the mountain.

Bridgit exhausted after trying to get unstuck from snow. Indy exhausted and blind from snow. I actually had to put Indy on Leash coming down I don't think he could see. First thing when we get home the boy has to go to the ophthalmologist. We are going to try and make it to another mountain on the other side of valley today. I am going to carry his doggles. Maybe he will wear them. He liked the sunglasses while resting.
