Yep - PC has got the Dr! I'm going to wait and see as I have never seen her in anything. If she is good (as Missy was) it will be cool. Just hope it isn't the BBC filling its diversity quota.

Fair comment - but Bill was a black lesbian so they ticked a couple of boxes.
My point is that there shouldn't be quotas - the best casting is that of the best actor/actress regardless of anything else.

Don't know if anyone has noticed, but Bosch series 3 is up on Amazon Prime - I watched the first episode yesterday and he's as grumpy as ever - hoorah!

Just came to me - How many of you have seen "Castle"?
Great comedy drama detective series with the crime writer Richard Castle teaming up with the (really) hot detective to solve murders. There is comedy and great who dunnits as well as good characters.
In addition there are also Richard Castle novels about the Nikki Heat character based on the female NYPD homicide detective.
Great fun !

And another personal favourite - mainly for characters - "The Glades" set in Florida about a Chicago detective who gets transferred to Florida. Great stories and lots of humour.

I have seen the whole Castle series and loved it! Have you watched any of the NCIS series with Mark Harmon? It is pretty good and has been on for lots of seasons which I think you can find the early seasons on Netflix.

I get confused with NCIS - I have seen some of the New Orleans one (I would love to go there) and most of the last two series of Los Angeles (like the boss woman - Hettie).
But I think there may be several other cities with NCIS.
Another great detective series is Sherlock with Benedict Cumberbatch. That is really cool!

Good man- now to ask you a key question - the last episode of The Glades I managed to see they left him shot and lying on the floor. Was that the last episode they made - or was there another series (I assume he survived)?

I have never watched Glades, doesn't look that interesting to me. The only NCIS that is good is the original one and I agree it is not as good with Ziva gone and now DeNoso is gone to. I like The old CSI series with Grisham in it.

You might like The Glades - typical wisecracking detective with side-kick pathologist. Also he has a thing with a nurse which works.
Talking of pathologists, there's that one with the Welsh actor (always a sign of quality) who plays a pathologist (I think in New York) who lives forever - ?called Forever.
That's quite good - he keeps getting killed (stabbed, shot etc) and gets "reborn" in the river - naked of course (added spice for you Hennar)

I did watch that one called Forever and I liked it but it only lasted a couple of seasons. I don't think there is any good shows to watch anymore. They are all alike. I watch a lot on the Travel, Science and, History channels.

Yes they ended The Glades on a cliff hanger and then never renewed the show. They did the same with Longmire which I liked, fortunately Netflix got the rights to Longmire and did another 2 seasons. A&E had a habit of ending the season on a cliffhanger and then not renewing the show. I really liked forever thought they cancelled it after only one season. There was another show like it with a very similar plot called New Amsterdam. That was a really good show also but only lasted one season

I am looking forward to The Defenders coming out next month on Netflix. They just released the second trailer on line and it looks great. I have also been re-watching Pushing Daisies. It's on the CW app (not Hulu or Amazon) which is free to watch. It was only 2 seasons but was a lot of fun. It is about a man who can bring the dead back to life with a touch.
Touch them once and they are alive again. Touch them a second time and they are dead for good. no coming back. But the universe doesnt like if you mess with it so bring someone back for more than a minute and someone else dies in their place. He teams up with a PI to solve murders for the reward money. And its a comedy. very strange but fun

Thanks for this! I have had a bunch of friends recommend Pushing Daisies and I have looked for it on Netflix and Amazon Prime, but never found it. Watching and enjoying the first episode now. Of course, this week is going to be super busy, so I won't be able to watch any more until Friday, LOL.

I thought Pushing Daisies was kind of cute. Hard to remember much. I can't even remember who starred in it, but I kind of liked it.

greggi - we may be behind but Longmire finished a series around Christmas here on TCM - I quite liked it (could be one for you Hennar) . I'm currently reading the first novel by Craig Johnson about Walt Longmire which is quite good too.

Yeah that was the most recent one. The scene at the end sent shivers up my spine. Next episode comes out this Sunday, can't wait.

Haven't caught Fargo yet, that'll be on my list.
OK George - What on earth is Twin Peaks all about - the tramps that crush skulls, the weird blonde showgirls/hostesses, the Indian map etc etc.
I haven't got a clue, but I'm glad "Damn fine" cherry pie is back!
