For the record, I am not either a Democrat or a Republican (yet)
I am waiting to see how things go with this presidential to see what I will do with my first ever vote as a United States Citizen in 3 years time...

Yes,Rokkerr, this nation IS divided and it began with the previous president and a society that has become increasingly narcissistic and weak as was he. The world hates our President for two reasons: they get their news via the Cartoon News Network or the AP, they resent being held to responsibility for their own defense and actions. I've warned Vic about underestimating now President Trump and I suggest the same warning to you. I appreciate you have not decided on a party. My advice: DON'T. Each party is equally corrupt though the dems have had that distinction the longest. Many conveniently forget President Trump financed his own primary. He won on the merits not as a consequence of PACs or lobbyists or donors. He "put his money where his mouth was" and won with a fraction of the money Hillary paid to LOSE. He also left a very, very comfortable life. The American ppl will not forget that except for those with an agenda, e.g. free stuff. Segments of American society have become infantile in both their wants and behavior, e.g. democrats/antifa. They would rather see this country in ashes than see the success that this man has accomplished in less than seven months despite fighting the media, the democrats AND the republicans. Yes, it's easy to post outrageous photos deriding him. If you're going to make a decision on this kind of trash, nothing I say will change your mind. All I ask is that you give this President time and judge him now by the actions of his detractors. The press, the dems and the establishment republicans despise him to the extent they will deny facts before their very eyes, e.g. Charlottesville. Any unbiased viewer of that debacle KNOWS the statement that Both sides were barbaric is true. They vilify this man because he DOES tell the unvarnished truth. He's Not a politician which is yet another reason I have such respect for this self made man. He exemplifies what an average American can still accomplish in this wonderful country despite those within it who wish it destroyed.

Well catalina I do not usually get into discussions about our political leaders but felt I must say something to your reply to rokkerr. First thing is I would like you to tell me what exactly Trump has done that is good. I am firmly convinced he is going to get us into another war because he does not know how to keep his mouth shut nor does he have any diplomacy. He doesn't even listen to his advisors. No matter what anyone says about Trump, diehard followers think he can do no wrong and won't listen to reason. All they want to do is crab about the democrats and any programs they have established. He is bound and determined to build the wall and he is using tax payers money. Now I am not saying the wall is right or wrong but we have the need for our dollars to be spent elsewhere such as education, taking care of our old people, environment and the like. The way I see it...Trump is a demigod! I do not want to get in a shouting match with you catalina but I just wanted you to know that not everyone agrees with you and that should be ok.

surely you jest, Rokkerr. I've never experienced the vitriol spewed my way for expressing a divergent opinion on the VNA. It's abundantly clear that the vast majority of members are democrats with little tolerance for an opposing opinion no matter how reasoned it is. I may have been blunt and derisive in my expression of opinion but that does not detract from its veracity.

The President is now threatening to shut down the goverment if Congress does not approve funding for the border wall with U.S. taxpayer dollars. Surely you must remember durning his campaign Trump promised over, over and over that Mexico will pay for the wall.

Trump made that promise and is keeping it as so many additional promises he HAS kept, e.g.TPP, Dakota pipeline, Paris Climate Accords, over 1 mil jobs in 7 months, roaring stock market, new coal plants, removal of seven regs for each new reg, reformed the VA, increased the the GDP twice over, approved the Keystone pipeline, appointed a conservative SCOTUS, extreme vetting, ridding ourselves of criminal gangs (MS13), hiring freeze on federal employees, roll back on Obama energy regulations, cessation of payments to the United Nations, required payments from NATO countries, and many, many additional successes.
As for the boarder fence is it so incomprehensible that a business man would fund a project and extract payment for that project at a later date? When he made the "boarder fence" promise he didn't specify When Mexico would pay. We have NAFTA being renegotiated as we speak, yet another promise kept and yet another avenue for "fence reimbursement".
Of course the use of the MSM as your source of information as as useful an activity as finding tits on a bull, but I digress.

That is 100% false. We have been extremely tolerant of you. Even inviting you back and welcoming you warmly after you banned yourself. So please, no one is more tolerant of others opinions than the people here. We are all openminded and want to hear other points of view.

I'm ready to be enlightened. The only "divergent" views I've seen have been in levels of acrimony against our President. In as much as my views offend others I believe I have been repaid in kind. The fact that my political positions are contrary to the majority on this site does not vitiate their validity.
I apologize for the sobriquet "tiresome". Frankly, I thought it mild. When I am treated reasonably I will respond reasonably. At this point I feel you have singled me out for admonition when there is as much guilt to ascribe to others.

I can't speak for Vicky but I did not read in her message that she was sorry you returned catalina. She meant that there should be no degrading a person specifically. Contrary to your belief I am neither a republican nor a democrat as I vote for who I think is the best candidate and it just happened not to be Trump. Only time will tell how he does but I truly believe what I have said before. He has not done anything for education, our elderly, the environment and other things. I do think he is for big money and forgets about us middle class people which includes farmers. Just my thoughts.

After all, it's been only seven months and he's been embattled with the media, the democrats and his own party. In defiance of these obstacles he has accomplished a great deal contrary to popular belief. Stay tuned.
