Thank you for the compliment catalina! I try to listen to what others say and then talk about our differences which I think is fun. Although you use some words I have to look up! LOL

catalina2 "He did not specify WHEN Mexico would pay." :lame: I like you, your a very funny guy.
Durning his campagian talking about who would pay. Trump NEVER, NEVER said U.S. taxpayers would front the money for Mexico. Did he? Why would he leave that part out?
I am sure if I watched FOX News this would all be perfectly clear. Right?

he didn't say they wouldn't pay either. WE are demanding the wall NOW and he is building it NOW. I've answered the question sufficiently. semantics are the only issue at hand now. Fox news Was a network I watched. currently I get my information from "DuckDuckGo" and OANN. I would describe reporters, AKA "journalists", like Acosta and the cable news networks and news networks in general but I've promised Vicky not to use obscenity/profanity. as for the print media........#$%^&

Some are tired of trying to convince the negative side that there is much good going on out there. Instead of seeing the positive, they will find one negative comment and focus entirely on that. President Trump never said that he would get the money out of Mexico first. In fact he has said that he would build the wall, and then get the money back from Mexico in whatever way is necessary, through Trade or whatever. I don't care where the people are from, they are coming through Mexico. If Mexico were really serious, they would enforce their side of the border. Since they refuse to do that, we will do it, and then recover our costs later.

It will take time to get beyond all of this. We can only hope that someday people will start to come around. That would be helped greatly if the media would focus on all of the positive and quit emphasizing the negative. I pretty firmly believe that the media is the root cause of all the anger that is going around. They are decidedly biased to one side. Therefore, they find out what the haters are protesting today, then they emphasize what President Trump has or hasn't done along those lines. Why they won't focus on all the good he has done as Catalina has stated, I don't understand.

That was a good post by Walt. I agree with him about the media influencing peoples minds. We should investigate the political issues ourselves and not believe everything the media says. :goodpost:

FoxNews: under constant vilification by Obama (for good reason) during the last eight years (a narcissist and pathological liar resent being exposed ) has been transformed into a network for nitwits. Its programming consists of a man/child (Tucker Carlson) who is consumed by interviewing controversial simpletons and republican sycophants; an obsequious, moronic ideologue (Sean Hannity) ; a house frau's dream in “The Five” not to exclude “The Fox News Specialists” more appropriately called the “The Fox News Amateurs”. Carlson is not worth discussing. Hannity, however, is the issue of the same demon seed that conceived Rachel Maddow. His constant regurgitation of “talking points” is quite enough to drive even the average listener to distraction. Does he really believe his fans are that slow witted? Dana Perino is another little gem. Her voice could fracture a champagne glass. She is a Bushie it seems from birth and idolizes her former employer, but, as a former press secretary, she is, of necessity, a liar at heart. Jerry Rivers (Geraldo Rivera) is the buffoon of the network. They've bestowed upon him the title of “Senior Fox News Reporter At Large”. What the hell does “at large” mean?? It means he doesn't have his own show any more and is approaching senility – favorite expression → “ I submit to you........”. What a maroon (to quote my favorite philosopher, Bugs Bunny). There is one aspect of Fox News that continues to be incontrovertible – it has the most marvelous women I've ever had the pleasure to see on a news network in contradistinction to all the “boys” (not excluding Rachel Maddow) on MSNBC. When one leaves, inexorably one even more delightful replaces her. For this reason and this reason only I occasionally will foray back to the network to watch one of the these beauties with the sound off.
No, now I get my information on current events from the lovely Trish Reagan on Fox Business and the passionate Lou Dobbs also on Fox Business. I cannot express my delight at the news of a rising stock market from the sensuous lips of Maria Bartiromo, again on Fox Business. Not to be outdone the OANN has Liz Wheeler, unfortunately recently married, has a not to be missed show “The Tipping Point” within which she delivers outstanding monologues. Graham Ledger on the same network is equally competent though not nearly as easy on the eyes. Between Fox Business and OANN one has the search engine “DuckDuckGo” available on a browser a good friend recommended on the VNA staff. There you have it. There are No reliable print sources of news including the National Review and The Economist. So don't say you can't find reliable news sources, you can. It only requires a little effort and an abhorrence of the other traditional news media outlets (those watching MNSBC are beyond redemption).

Hennar, my friend, that is the conundrum. And you say you don't agree with Trump! Fake news is fake news. Selecting the least Unbelievable is one approach but a bad one. The best approach is to select between the news sources I've suggested, do a little of your own research online (very easy to do these days) and, most important of all - use your own common sense, look for results and continue your skepticism.
I wish us Both luck.

I don't get OANN or what ever it is but I will check out Fox Business. I do watch CNN (don't explode catalina, I know they are democrats and out to get Trump) but I like Brooke Baldwin. She seems neutral and will back some of her guests up against a wall. I detest Wolf Blitzer and watch him once in a while just to get my blood boiling. lol Can anybody get Trumps tweet? If so do you know how? I am not entirely against Trump but he scares me a little!

He (President Trump) may not be the most eloquent of speakers, Hennar, but he is the most genuine. We've had eloquent "orators", e.g. the last eight years, but that is an asset easy to acquire. Character, fortitude and love of county are quite different. Don't be disquieted by the hysteria fomented by the media. This country is in good hands at last. Our future is bright. The "antifa" will fade with the wind. People are again becoming mature as the millennial generation ages, the younger generation are becoming more sober. They are becoming more suspicious of their "professors", know the media lies and appreciate the millennials for what they are - largely malcontents with the exception of those who chose the military. The "silent majority" are becoming less silent. Over 370 electors and 63 mil + ppl voted for President Trump. Despite media polls, they watch our streets become war zones, punks destroying the possessions/property of others, attempts to erase and sanitize our history, rants of tenured college "professors" and they are becoming angry, they are increasing in number and they will express that anger at the polls not in the streets. I watch very little news online or on TV. I watch my morning news on the local channel, and maybe a little bit of a couple others. Then I read the paper a couple times a week. Being skeptical, and being intelligent enough to be able to weed the good news from the BS (I don't really read about the rioting,) I feel I can pretty much see what is really going on. And, in the paper I can read about the good things he is doing. I read about how the stock market is rising, I read about how unemployment is going down, I read a little more good news than I ever see on television.

Ok, can I add a little levity here? The future's so bright? My future's so bright, I gotta wear shades.

see Hennar, not all Trumpsters/sane republicans (trying not to ascribe sentiments to Walt he does not wish) are Nazi/fascist/racists. a great many of us are reasonable, rational people capable of extricating pearls of truth from the paste of media lies. more power to you, Walter, for keeping alive a dying medium - the printed page of news. my local paper has changed hands three times and is now democrat owned. it's the size of a comic book and I read it with that thought in mind. thanks for your post and I hope it is helpful for Hennar to receive differing points of view on securing reliable news. :yeahbaby:

TRISH REGAN

btw Hennar, I am well aware of Dobb's nutty position as a "birther" but his views on the never Trumpers and the "establishment" on Both sides are entertaining to hear. He kind of resembles an enormously overgrown infant. Trish Regan is an entirely different matter. She is physically and morally beautiful. She is feisty as hell and will not tolerate talking points. I Know you will enjoy her.

Well, Catalina, I'm sure that newspapers everywhere are suffering the same decline. No one has time to sit around and read the paper anymore.

El Paso is decidedly Democratic. And, based on their editorials, I feel the El Paso Times is pretty much the same. But their reporting does seem to be rather evenly distributed. Of course, mostly local news, but enough national news to balance things out.

El Paso used to have two papers, the morning and evening. The evening paper, the Herald Post, was established in 1931 and lasted until 1997, when it folded due to lower circulation. The El Paso Times continues, but it is a shadow of it's former self. It apparently now has some sort of agreement with USA Today, as there is at least one full page (two sides) under that banner. The Times has obviously laid off a lot of employees, and I can see the time when it could fold entirely. They keep cutting the number of pages and increasing the price. I buy a copy once or twice a week when I go out to eat breakfast.

I, too, believe that the written page should always have a place, but time marches on and things change. Kodak is a great example. Cameras and 35mm film used to be the picture medium of choice. But changing times and technology have caused a great decline in their film business.. It is still out there, but greatly reduced. You see signs of change every day, as more and more businesses, large and small, have to adapt to new technology and those changing times. If they can't adapt and change, they disappear.

Hennar, is this what you're looking for? https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump
