I enjoyed it a lot, definitely on the dark side of things if you like that kind of show. Kind of reminded me of Breaking Bad since it has Jason Bateman as the lead character, he's got his typical sarcastic kind of dialogue delivery in scenes where it's a bit more light hearted from the main story. But it's got a lot of darker scenes dealing with the drug cartel part of the series.

Apologies if this one has been mentioned before - The Tick on Amazon Prime is good. Pretty funny about a large blue superhero (The Tick) who is a bit pompous and too goody, mentoring a nerd called Arthur who has been landed with a special flying superhero suit.
I especially like the VLM, the sexy Miss Lynne and the talking boat!

Peter you made it back!

Watched the Twin Peaks 2-part finale last night, which of course in classic David Lynch style wrapped up with a tremendous cliffhanger. Loved the visual aesthetic, and having Cooper back to his usual self. The liklihood of a second season has me excited, let's hope they have the funding to make it a reality. Would hate to see it end like Deadwood.

OK George - apart from Good v Evil what is it all about? Will there be another series? Does Laura Palmer still have a great bottom?

It's all about that cherry pie, order-from-disorder, and trifling with Western Occultism/Numeralogical/Magick forces that we're not necessarily supposed to understand. It's a break from traditional story telling, relying on abstract, expressionistic surrealism, nonlinear, non-rational film making. Rather than trying to understand each little nuance Lynch throws into the story, I revel in the long takes, slowly paced dialogue and inconclusiveness. I know plenty of people that don't care for it, for exactly those reasons, but I find myself drawn into the audio/visual landscape more-so than any other show on TV right now and I really hope there is more to come.

And I'm sure she's still got a great bottom

There are two series that many UK members will probably know, and may only work in Britain. They are Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes with the amazing Gene Hunt!
I believe there was a US attempt at Life on Mars but it was awful.
You need to have seen a lot of 70s UK cop shows to really get them fully - think The Sweeney , etc.
Basically, they are drama/comedy set in 70s (Life on Mars) and 80s (Ashes to Ashes - spot the Bowie connection - with a sort of parody of the cop show from those eras. Lots of wisecracks, one liners and in-jokes. Master performance by Phillip Glenister as Gene Hunt (aka The Gene Jeanie) and John Sims (as Sam Tyler - the more straight-laced sidekick).
Where else would you get lines like "Don't go all Dorothy me!" "Its 1973, almost dinnertime and I'm having hoops."?
Any Brits out there who haven't watched - you are deprived. Any Yanks (apologies, but getting in to character), if you want to be baffled, but get an idea what I was watching in the seventies (and have a good laugh) - see if you can find the British version (avoid the US version).

Just came across (no pun intended!) - "The Good Place" on Netflix.
Really funny show about the after life where a ne'erdowell (great word that) woman goes to the "Good Place" - there isn't Heaven or Hell - by mistake. Ted Danson(the guy from Cheers) plays Michael who designed that neighbourhood and sorts of runs the place.
Very funny, especially the bite where the main character tries to swear.

Its good - but Tim Roth is good in anything.
Only thing is rokker, he is a London cop who moved to a small town in Canada to protect his family. That is sort of important in how he deals with the locals and how is daughter is. Sorry to be a pedant!

Netflix is raising their subscription prices in the USA. Still a great deal if you use it, but costs are rising $1 or if you're on the premium plan, $2.

I just picked up a new series, Mr. Robot, which originally aired on USA Network. Story centers on a young man who moonlights as a vigilante computer hacker. Story goes into some really dark places, so it's right up my alley.
