We've done those Vicky, I call it "a minute to win it" we do them around once a month, lots of eye rolling when I have that on the board, and I don't understand why :situps: :nanah: :icon_jiggle: It's like 5 med ball slams, 5 jump squats and 5 lengths of the turf, easy right. Everyone you finish the next gets more exciting, well I call it exciting :yeahbaby:

My trainer has been killing me this week! I'm doing weights I have never done before, to the point of failure... I never did that before, I'd always save some energy, but not now, plus I'm actually dieting for real... I lost 3 lbs since Aug 1! Just no more fried foods, cutting down on breads, and just eating enough, not eating just for the sake of eating, because I like eating or I'm just peckish... having only fruits as snacks... lots of water... I bought an app for my phone, called myfitnesspal where you log your food and calories, it's super simple, and guides you... its only $49 a year, tells you if you are eating too many carbs or too many fats etc.. turns out i don't eat enough protein... who knew? I thought I ate lots of protein, but not according to this... my trainer put in 40% carb, 30% protein and 30% fat as my goal to maintain each day. (for now) I end up with too much fat and carbs... lol.. I'm sticking to 1300 calories a day and working out 6 days a week. So far so good! I feel great! It's giving me more energy and I can get more done!

How is that training going Vicky? I love pushing to failure, then doing it over and over, slowly building muscle and getting stronger.

The last 2 weekends was Spartan and Tough Mudder, the Mudder as a team we came in 4th, not bad for over 70 teams entered. The last obstacle is electrified wires hanging that you run through, it really doesn't hurt to much, but as I was running I noticed one of my runners was gone. I have no idea when or where it came off, good thing you wear stuff you don't care about. So much team work to do it, it's 18kms of hell, everything is covered in mud, trying to climb over walls and having to make a human ladder then pulling the last person up and over. It's crazy but so much fun. when you finish, you don't want anything to do with it, but next day you can't wait till next year!

The Spartan we had to pull out just over half way through, one of our girls slipped and fell and hit her head really hard, she had to be taken to the hospital. None of us left her side till the emergency people were able to get to her and take her away, it shook up most of the team so we pulled out. She was kept in the hospital over night then released. I love competing in any event, just gets me so wound up.

My son did Tough Mudder once. After watching a couple videos about it, then the clip he sent me, I was very proud of him. I doubt I could have done it when I was his age. I do know that euphoria you feel when you do something that makes you want to kill someone, and then you finish and, after a short rest, you say, "Let's do it again!"

If you want to see something tough, just Giggle "Tough Mudder." You'll find plenty of clips about it.

The training is going really great! I'm actually sticking to it! I run on my treadmill 2 or 3 times a week, go to the gym 3 times a week. I have lost 8 lbs since Aug 1, hard to believe. (I guess a lot of it is water).
I'm feeling better than ever and full of energy! Hornier than ever too, lol... somehow working out more always makes me hornier.... I was sitting in front of the computer way too much...

I'm googling tough mudder.. all I can say is H O L Y S H I T!!! Are you serious? 10-12 miles of that?!!!!!

I just read this:
“Every extra pound of weight you have on is 4 pounds of pressure on the weight-bearing joints, like your knees and hips,” explains Scott Zashin, MD, a board-certified rheumatologist and clinical professor of medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. “Losing weight is one thing patients can do that really makes a difference [in arthritis pain].” As the pounds drop, you reduce stress on your joints by lowering their workload.

Really had no idea, I mean I knew being overweight was not good for arthritis but didn't realize it was a 4 to 1 ratio.

That's crazy isn't it, and jogging I read is 16/1!

We had a "pick your poison" yesterday. So everyone had to grab dumbbells, then I explained what the workout was. There was 7 workouts to do, without putting down your weights. There was 7 workouts to do, jump squats, tricep extentions, dumbbell presses, bent over rows, explosive step ups, each leg, then sumo buries. Now there was only 10 of each, but roll them all 7 times each, oh and no breaks, and don't put those weights down. When it was over everyone got a 3 minute break, then we did the same thing over except it was one minute of each, no breaks. I enjoyed it lots, but others had some really rude things to say, I was confused

We did a lot of dynamic workouts this week, just pushed everyone in other ways. I told everyone that they needed to get their heart rate up over 120 any way they wanted, ie; med ball slams, weighted bag run, push ups their choice. Right after it was 5 minutes of reverse squats c/w pulses, then back to your 2 minutes of enjoyment, followed by 5 minutes of Turkish get ups and push ups. Then back to raising your heart rate for 2 minutes, then 5 minutes of hanging ring pulls and pull a parts, 2 more minutes and finally 5 minutes of floor benches and skull crushers. Everyone really enjoyed themselves, till the finisher of the song Womanizer doing V sits, when ever she said Womanizer you do a V sit sprawl. Everyone seemed somewhat tired out with less energy, that was the plan :yeahbaby:

I tried, Julie, but couldn't quite get my heart rate up to 120. Got it up to 12 before I got tired and went to the fridge for a beer. :rotffl:
