Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.

Pretty much follows suit with that Bloomberg article I posted the other day about hacks at Amazon, Apple, etc... expect zero privacy on any computer connected to the internet.stickyvicky wrote: ↑October 9th, 2018, 1:19 pm http://www.newser.com/story/265672/goog ... reach.html

I was in college when Facebook first came out so I was able to see mass adoption first hand. In the wake of MySpace and Friendster, Facebook was the clear winner on campus. As for Google+, they were years late to the party, didn't add any functionality and everyone already had Facebook so there was no incentive to switch.
That being said, now that anyone with a smartphone can be Ansel Adams, I see fewer people using Facebook and Instagram is taking over.

I used google+ for about a day...never liked it.
My company uses Google for all of our data, email, sharing, cloud...you name it we use it. It took me a while to get used to it, but now I can't imagine running a business without it.

Kicking Ass and Taking Names :)
When it launched initially there was some interest from my peers. I have an account but I have never been a frequent user, I don't really care for the design of the software in its current version. Ever since Instagram poached the idea with stories and live streaming, Snapchat has become a ghost town.

I agree with this so much. Snapchat is not clean at all. It's not really user friendly. I was thankful the day I deleted mine.George B wrote: ↑October 11th, 2018, 9:59 amWhen it launched initially there was some interest from my peers. I also, agree with you in terms of google+ being late to the game. It's funny you must be the same age as I am. I remember when facebook was just a student thing. I remember filling out my profile. They asked the questions where your university was located? The option... "surrounded by nothing but corn" made me chuckle.
Actually, in terms of internet security google is awful. Chrome is pretty bad. Your best bet is to use encrypted services like pronto mail and use the TOR browser. Anything you sent out online will send up saved somewhere on the dark web. Which is easier to access then most people think. I think it's best to just keep as much information off the web as possible. It's hard considering medical records are often on the web. I mean Kaiser Health Insurance system basically has everything you can think of on the web. That's just worry some. Buy a house, get married.... etc. Public records are a free for all on line. To think back in the day you had to go to the public records office and show ID etc, to get access. So, there was a bit of a buffer. Now any mouth breather with a cell phone can get it. Scary stuff.
yes.... I'm kind of crazy about internet security.
Nothing crazy about that, your recent experiences are a prime example of how things can go sideways when a malicious party gains unauthorized access and it's not exactly uncommon.SamanthaGrace wrote: ↑October 12th, 2018, 5:26 pm yes.... I'm kind of crazy about internet security.

It's true. But I was always cautious and it still happened. I'm not very trustful by nature. It can happen to anyone.George B wrote: ↑October 12th, 2018, 8:37 pmNothing crazy about that, your recent experiences are a prime example of how things can go sideways when a malicious party gains unauthorized access and it's not exactly uncommon.SamanthaGrace wrote: ↑October 12th, 2018, 5:26 pm yes....
