Funny how he was such a headline grabber just a few years ago in all the mainstream press...

Ran across this retirement from being ''James Deen' on his blog that didn't pick up any real porn press as far I know... kind of strange considering his 15 year career of highs, lows and drama...

"I Think I’m Done… Peace Out Y’all!!!!!!

my whole career has been based off of doing what makes me smile. i don’t believe people should do anything they don’t want to do. life is too short to be unhappy. i have been performing for going on 15 years. i am in year 15 right now. it has been the best imaginal career i could ever ask for. it was all i ever wanted as i was growing up and it is all i want to do still to this day. i have loved every second of it. i hope to perform until i physically can’t continue anymore. i love it. i love porn. i love the porn industry. i love working in the porn industry. in the last 15 years i have worked almost every day. since i started my own company i have slowed down a bit, but still average about 15-20 scenes a month. my first 5 or 6 years i was doing 2-3 scenes every day…. that is over 5000 scenes (15×350 felt like an appropriate equation). that is A LOT of fucking fucking. i don’t plan to stop performing.

however, i do think i’m going to hold off on tweeting as well as this blog for a bit. never say never, i might be back blogging in a week. i might never blog again. i might stop tweeting and just fade away completely… but in general it has become more of a chore than a fun thing to do. all that “public persona” crap kinda has. i never wanted any of that. i just wanted to make porno. i don’t know if it really is necessary in order to continue my performing career. who knows, maybe my career will suffer from stepping away from stuff like this. i also might get bored and decide to come back and start blogging again. we will see what happens. i don’t like to live in a world of definitives. for the time being, i’m going to stop being james deen... i’m just kinda over it."

After all the brou-ha-ha he created, I kind of wonder if all the jobs kind of dried up. Probably not everything, but I just wonder if all of that is leading to all of this.

Yeah, public personas aren't as much fun when people in the industry have bad things to say about you.

wow that's the title they chose for his return, kind of a shot there, if I was any performer that has worked there, I think I wouldn't work with them anymore.
What makes you smile?
I know you’re listening.

What happened to you was such a tragedy.
