In the news again. So why wouldn't they take in her boyfriend also? Does he not want help also? Are they afraid of him? Is he violent?

Anyone see the gofundme? Makes me so hesitant to donate to any gofundme's. I just donated this week to Roxy Raye who is still struggling to get back to normal.

I keep reading in the news about all these different gofundme campaigns that turned out to be scams. How many campaigns have there been to raise money for cancer patients who it turned out were never sick. Gofundme says that if one of their campaigns turns out to be fraudulent they refund everything that was donated so at least there is a bit of a safety net there but still it makes me not want to donate to anything unless I have been able to check it out first.

So if the the 40,000 British pounds has already been deposited into the founders account, and he has already withdrawn it, then gofundme refunds the donations and takes the loss?

in some of the news reports where people were supposedly raising money for a needy person and then spent it on lavish vacations for themselves, etc. go fund me said the donations would be refunded. I'm sure they than go after the scammers for every penny they can get a hold of. Their web site does say that in cases where a a person sets up a fund for an actually needy person such as Jenni Lee in this case and the scammer than keeps the money, instead of refunding you they will get your donation to the person who you intended it for. Anyway, thats what go fund me say they do.

I followed the link to Jenni Lee. If accurate, I don't think a gofundme campaign would be sufficient to resolve her situation.

On the Jenni thing, yes I totally agree. I'm not sure I understood the article. Someone was offering to help her (doesn't say who) in the form of relocation into a private house (whose house?) but they wanted her to leave her boyfriend behind? Did they think the boyfriend was bad for her? Why not try to help them both together? Why break up a couple if they really are a couple?

I also don't like that they stated XBiz was "promoting" the GoFundMe, in fact they said "XBiz stupid enough to promote a fake GoFundMe", if you read the XBiz article they just said there is one and they don't know who started it.

I browsed the internet yesterday to take a look at some of Roxy's videos. I guess that means I'd better make a donation to her gofundme page so I don't become one of those show up empty-handed at pot luck moochers.
