It’s $40. Which includes regular Hulu and Hulu Live tv. For me I don’t mind the commercials to much. But I think for a few dollars more you won’t have commercials.

Vicky was catching The Frankenstein Chronicles the other day... I have not seen the whole first season but it's well acted and an easy watch... subtitles help if you have problems with accents...

I refuse to watch commercials! I'm not a diva I swear! I just don't have time for that! You don't wanna see me watch commercials either because I talk back to them! lol... tell them how ridiculous they are! It's so worthwhile to spend a little more and not have to watch the commercials. We work so hard all day, by the end of the day my head is splitting open sometimes from being on the computer for 12 hours straight and I just want to obliterate myself by watching something before I go to sleep and not have to watch the commercials!

You and I are so alike (I 'm not a diva, either ). I hate commercials, too. I understand their necessity, but I soooooo hate them. And, yes, I talk back too, lol. Most are silly, ridiculous or just plain stupid.

I have cable, so I record all the programs I like, then go back and watch them later. At least I can fast forward thru the ads. Big help.

After two months of DirectTVLive... I have to say I don't regret losing cable...
The only drag is the interface is a bit cumbersome but for about $40 a month you have all the channels you could really want (or less if you want to ditch some).

The only OTHER drag (I forgot) is there's no TIVO type thing with it... but I guess that's coming..

It's very slow to turn on.... When you turn on the tv, the "firetv" logo stares at you for up to a minute before loading everything.... we are just so used to everything being instant... lol... but honestly i way prefer the Roku to the Firestick. With Roku, you can have just one remote, you pair your tv to the roku remote, then you can do on/off and volume with the roku remote, then you only need one. Only one remote to lose in the couch cushions lol.. I'm not sorry either. Should have done it a long time ago!

I've had HuLu live since September of '18 and I'm very happy with it.. it went up a few more dollars, but still much less than I was paying for Spectrum cable.

I absolutely love Roku I got rid of most of the fire TVs and switch to Roku it's so perfect, you only need one remote I hated having to find two remotes... So the combination of the Roku with Spectrum internet, and DirecTV app, throw in Amazon and Netflix and we are set! And still so much cheaper then what spectrum was charging us for cable! It's just crazy!

Spectrum is relentless. I’ve never paid for cable Tv. I never will. They kept hassling me. Phone calls and letters. You name it. I heard from them almost daily. I finally, told them I will never get cable tv. I’ve had internet with you since roadrunner in the early 2000’s. That’s all I will ever have. They now keep going on and on, about their streaming app. I said, “that’s still cable TV! It’s putting lipstick on a pig! I still don’t have time for the commercials and nonsense. This is getting to the point where I may go to Verizon or AT&T for Internet. So, stop pushing this.”

They finally slowed a little. I still get a letter about 2 times a month. Advertising their “cable free” app. But it’s better then all the calls and letters 2-3 times a week.

I’m glad to see other people cutting the cord. Cable Tv is so expensive. I’ve heard some people pay over $125/month for commercials. I’m thinking I pay $15 for Netflixs. I get no commercials.

Cut back on the special stations like HBO etc when we upgraded recently with Comcast/Xfinity, upgrade to Gigabit with the internet, it's hybrid via DOSCIS 3.1, the 1st mile is fiber with the last mile to your house via coaxial. Anyway get up to 1 gb download with 35 upload.

just wished it was all fiber or that we could 1gb uploads. The nice thing is I don't have to deal with buffering anymore

So here's my in depth analysis... 2 years ago or so I was pissed that our cable bill was $175 or so...
Plus netflix at $10 and Amazon Prime for $8 - total $193

We cut the cord and got internet for $69 a month on special
Added Directv for $40 and I was thrilled... TV for about $109 a month...

..... and then I think I got a case of the 'addicted to streaming shows fever' and didn't watch the bottom line...
DIRECTTV went up to $60 a month
Internet special ended and my net bill is now $100 a month
I added HBO for Real Time with Bill Maher and the odd movie for $5 a month as an upgrade
Netflix went UP to $12 a month but we get that free now through a deal with TMobile
Prime is UP to about $10 a month
I also added Britbox (all the British TV Shows for $5 a month) and Masterpiece Theatre (for about $5 a month)
... we routinely added Showtime off and on to get shows like Ray Donovan, Billions and Homeland which is $11 a month

My base internet and streaming package with DirectTV is now $160 (only $15 less than when I cut the cord)
BUT we are spending on average $30-40 on additional crap like HBO, Masterpiece Theatre, Brit Box and Showtime...
.. and we don't even have the new Disney Channel...

Considering dumping DirectTV for another alternative like YoutubeTV but that's still about $50 a month
SlingTV has lower cost options but they are smart - they put all the sports on one bundle, all the news on the other and then make you pay for both to get them both instead of one cheaper alternative...

So this long post is basically.... I seem to have traded cable for streaming for no savings...
The market is now more fractured than ever and there's original content all over the tv...

Can't say I liked cable... but I am going to cut back to the basics... netflix, amazon and maybe one or two premium channels when I see a show I want to binge on...

Thanks Rokker. I am still on cable, and continue to think about switching to streaming services, but haven't got around to it because I've been concerned about exactly the scenario you described. I think I may cut back to basic cable, netflix and amazon. And maybe Britbox.

I did "upgrade" my internet to unlimited last month, and (unbelievable bonus), they actually reduced my internet price. I've obviously been paying too much for too long.

Addendum. I did try over the air in my home gym. It may be a good option is some areas. Here for some reason I get more French language channels than English (maybe all the antennae are up in the Gatineau hills?), and there's not enough English channels available to make it a worthwhile option, even for a gym. At least the investment in an OTA antenna is not very much. This summer I'll try OTA at the cottage.

I finally just ditched AT&T's TVNOW...
Currently without regular TV as of March 1...
Really not seeing anything out there that's grabbing me by the balls to buy into... YouTubeTV?

No YouTubeTV either. I will take a serious look into alternate TV options after I'm back from my vacation. I hadn't even considered YouTubeTV.
