They sure can. They went to Thailand and broke their law. And 5 year in a Thai prison is no joke. Their prisons are over crowded and the conditions are terrible. If they are lucky they might bribe their way out of it. But it is going to cost them big.

It would probably be hard to bribe their way out of it now wouldn't it? Since it's been all over the news?

Pretty dumb on their part also? To let their visas expire like that? I'm sure that has a lot to do with it? Why didn't they at least renew their visas? I guess there was more to it that we don't know or they just thought they were invincible and were not going to get caught.

Yes it is harder after it has been in the news. It depends on who is in charge. Corruption is a big problem in Thailand.
