much the same here in the UK, where the response by government has been faster and more sensible, i think, than in the USA. but the places where they've been testing, testing, testing and tracing are doing better than any of us in hte English-speaking world.

TV, porn, reading, housework, gardening. not always in that order...

For the last 2 weeks I've just been working from home, which is what I normally do anyway. Upside - no need to waste time making a presence at client sites just "becausue" and no driving time wasted to attend meetings. Downside, can't print documents from client computers so making document revisions is more challenging.

In a week or so, it will be harder for clients to keep me busy and I suppose I'll see a drop in income.

I've been mostly working from home for months, so the transition to 100% working from home has been easy for me.

My Tuesday evening role playing game has moved online, where we use Discord for voice and a special web interface for rolling dice and displaying maps. Some other friends and I have started playing board games online; the list of games that have made digital versions of themselves is small, but we can live with that for a while. With all sports events cancelled, I have hardly had the TV on, but I have discovered some very cool things on Netflix and Amazon Prime. The weather here in NC has been amazing so, when I have clothes on, I open the window and the patio door on the opposite side and get sunlight and a great breeze. I feel guilty for how well things have been going for me.

So i'm in the center-south of Italy, here the situation isn't drammatic like the north, but obviously seriously. It's just 3 weeks i'm lock in the home, not a big problem for me, because now i unemployed, so i was yet home and my shift was really limited, but forced stay to home is really bad. So during the day , like bit all, i watch tv, series, obviously porn for release the stress, after play with videogames, someday clean my room, listen more music and carry on my hobby as is computer programming. And read or watch news only one times of day, for not ko my mood. This is my day, i hope all stay safety in this time.

I posted this a joke.

But there are a lot of collateral victims of the covid quarantine:

On Sunday, a woman walked into a pharmacy in the French city of Nancy, one of the few public places still open after the government imposed a nationwide lockdown to prevent the spread of a dangerous virus.
But the woman wasn't there for medicine; she was there to tell the pharmacist that her partner had abused her. Soon after, the woman's spouse was arrested by police.

As the coronavirus pandemic forces countries everywhere to take unprecedented steps to restrict the movement of their citizens, victims of domestic violence have suddenly found themselves trapped at home with their abusive partners. Some are unable -- or too afraid -- to call the police, experts say.

So France, inspired by a similar scheme in Spain, has started telling victims to head to drugstores. If they can't talk openly in the store, they can simply say the codeword "mask 19" to the pharmacist behind the counter. The woman in Nancy was the first to seek help since the government launched the initiative last week, the spokesperson for Marlene Schiappa, the French minister for equality, told CNN.

As lockdown measures across Europe get stricter, charities and police forces are raising the alarm over a potential spike in domestic violence. Being confined at home with their abuser makes victims more vulnerable, because there is no escape. On top of that, multiple studies have found that emotionally stressful events can lead to an increase in aggressive behavior at home. Researchers identified such spikes during the 2008 economic crisis, when major natural disasters hit, and also during big football tournaments.

Christophe Castaner, the French Interior Minister, said there had been a 36% increase in police intervention for cases of domestic violence in Paris after the lockdown measures were enacted.

I have been watching old movies and shows on YouTube. Checking emails. I work 2 or 3 days a week at Sam's Club. I wear gloves and a mask. I try not to get close to people. Thank goodness I had some mask before all of this started.
Just stay safe everyone.

I'm lucky enough to be able to still go to work (yes I said lucky). No one else is there, but if I had to stay home I'd not adjust well.

I've done a little wood working in my garage, but I'm running out of wood. My wood supplier is shut down....he's not essential...go figure.

In the last week I have watched the first 3 series of Red Dwarf, both seasons of Altered Carbon and a couple of movies . In July the new Dresden Files novel is coming out. There are currently 15 novels and 2 short story collections. This will be book 16. It has been 6 ;years since the last one so I started re-reading them. I am up to the third one in less than a week. Obviously lots of free time on my hands.
Keep smiling. It makes people wonder what you are up to :-)

Years ago I read a Western story series I borrowed from my sister. There were about 27 books and the story covered 3 or 4 generations in the 1800's. The main extended family managed to be involved in numerous events such as The Alamo, the growth of San Francisco and Denver, several other events in the growth of the West. Don't remember how long it took me to read it all, but I remember I enjoyed it.

That may have been before personal computers. I don't read so much these days. Life is so amazing. People in their 30's have no clue what life is like without computers and a phone in their pocket. I think of killing time back in the "olden days," lol, and think, "Geez, how did we exist before these things." Lol. But then, there is another side, as life was quite different, but loads of fun before electronics took over. Those were the days, my friend.

That's a good idea. Work seems to be slowing down for me. I should read some of the books I have lying around. Thanks Walt.
