Personally, I like the variety of strategies for OF sites, because the performer/camgirl can have a choice of how she wants to run her page. Some prefer the free or cheap teasers leading to the upselling of their paid DMs; some prefer the approach of a website membership where you get everything for a monthly fee.

The main thing is to be interactive with those fans willing to spend their money with you. If you really connect with the woman, and reward her regularly with tips, you and her can go a long way.

I don't understand how it's not fraud when sites have other people pretend to be pornstars and message in their name? Whether it be phone sex or Onlyfans, if you are paying to interact with Pornstar A, and that is what is advertisted, but instead you are interacting with someone else, how is that not false advertising? I get that the sheer volume of messages could be overwhelming, but then the business model just doesn't seem sustainable to me.

I joined onlyfans because of one female performer. I chatted with her on her paid snapchat before, which was a lot of fun, but onlyfans was a huge disappointment. Mainly got send to all messages like "good morning babe, did you dream of me?". I felt like she did her best to reply and she seemed to be online 24/7, but because of the amount of messages, there were no real conversations, because she obviously couldn't tell users apart. Another thing that I don't like about onlyfans is the fact that it became such a huge trend recently. All these girls joining, because it's advertised as an easy way to make money. The huge amount of work and the commitment to get and stay successful, the consequences that inevitably follow, no one talks about that.

I'm stupid and too gullible apparently. It was not about money. We got close fast and were talking 24/7, which was a big thing for me. She complimented me big time and we talked about meeting up (we're very far apart) and when I wasn't acting the way she wanted, she dropped me. Lesbian drama

Edit: To clarify: She did this to other girls online, played with their feelings and promised them a lot just to drop them when she was bored, so I think "scam" is a fitting term.

I don't think that there usually is such interaction between male fans, because it was very flirty from the beginning and the guys on there really don't want to flirt with other guys. I can't speak for gay models and their fans though.

I'm not an onlyfans expert, I don't know whether you're able to message every user, or if you have to follow someone's profile (you can subscribe to the profiles of other fans too) to DM them.
