Just wait until schools open.

I might head out for groceries this week but I feel totally justified keeping myself in isolation.

In the late '50's/early '60's we started after Labor day, Sept 4th or so. Then May 25th was graduation and school in general was done by June 2nd or so. I don;t know what the devil they're doing now.

When I started in the early 80's, we started about a week or two before Labor Day. Mom told me when she went it was always after labor day. I had couple of years we had to go a few days in June to make up for some snow days. Which I went to private school(non catholic) but they all followed state rules with variations on holidays and such.

3 months of summer vacation, how cool is that? We had 6 weeks.
Here, the first state started school again yesterday, with massive regulations. Depending on how that works out, other states will follow.

friend's father passed away July 31st, on her brother's 38th birthday due to complications from Covid-19, her brother and mother who has Covid-19 did get to be with him when he passed, he was essential worker and was working all the way up till he got sick, she's devastated and she has her on health problems so couldn't travel to see him one last time, and she can't go to say her goodbyes at his funeral on the 9th, and has to have surgery for 7th time for something that hasn't healed yet. Really sad tonight.

So sorry to hear that Andrew.
Many people are joking and sharing memes about the virus (me too) as a way to cope with the situation, but we tend to forget that people are actually still dying...

Here, they announced today that there will be a live concert on the fourth of September.
Great idea, infections are on the rise and it's unclear if schools can open, but why not put 13.000 people in a stadium for no necessary reason at all... In the state that had the most cases countrywide... What could possibly go wrong.

Don't want to get political about it but sadly a lot of politics is playing into it, and it's a sad thing.

Thanks everyone, I just feel real bad for her because she's taken it real hard and then on top of it, she's still having problems with a procedure she had done that it just doesn't want to heal right, so going to have to have surgery number 7 next week, and just worried with all it happening that how the surgery goes.

Sorry to hear that Andrew. Will keep good thoughts for you friend.
We had one person at work test positive for covid about 3 weeks ago and just had another who was out all this week with mild symptoms and is waiting for test results to come back. Company policy is that all customers must wear masks to be in the building, but even though the state mandate requires companies to enforce mask wearing we keep being told by higher ups at corporate that if someone isnt willing to wear a mask we are to let it go and not enforce it. Guess they are afraid of losing a sale but not losing an employee.
Keep smiling. It makes people wonder what you are up to :-)
