Thanks Capt, stay safe u too!!!!! Slowly here we back to the normality. So I heard that the Tour will be in August maybe.

I agree with Rokker, see a big game like Borussia-Bayern with an empty stadium was really not funny, as well as the game not was excellent. I think will be the same in every sports where the crowd is an important part of the game.
So the next week also here restart the soccer, before with national cup and after with the championship, but I will not have the same spirit to watch the games as i had before the lockdown. But I am impatient for the start of F1 on 5th July, in Austria.

I've watched a couple of NASCAR races, and, to me, the lack of crowds is no big deal. Of course, the crowds aren't a big part of the broadcast. So I don't miss them. They just don't show the stands except in views where they can't avoid it. But those are few and not 'intrusive.'

Now football, for example, would be totally different. Even baseball. And I'm sure that other sports would suffer without crowds. I know I could handle it, but, yes, it would be harder.

I remember when one of the 3 commercial networks in the U.S., for one game several years ago, had the announcers keep quiet. No talking during the game. Apparently they were getting complaints, enough to generate this 'test.' I don't think they ever did it again, lol. Personally, I liked it (there are good announcers and there are bad announcers, lol.) But you had to totally watch the game or you would miss something. With announcers, at least you can be distracted, nd still keep up with the action.

Yeah i agreed Walt, i think as, in almost all motorsport, if u see a race in tv without crowd isn't a big problem, simply because a crowd can't influence of the result of the race, while in other sports like soccer, football, basketball and others, the crowd it's a part of the game for to disturb the away team and support the home team.
I just tried this expirience in february, i saw a game of my soccer team but the feeling was extremely bad, it was as if he didn't care about the game, while usually i "live" the game. And for this i hoped it didn't restart, but the choice was different, for some reason.

Wrestling without a crowd, boy did that expose how bad the product is. WWE is know using talent as the audience, heard rumblings the talent wasn't happy having to stand the whole tapings, but still not much of an improvement though

I've liked Kevin ever since he moved into the Cup series. The weekend after Dale Earnhardt was killed, they brought Kevin in to drive the No. 3. He won his 3rd race and the crowd went wild. I did, too, right there in my living room, lol. More in my NASCAR topic.
I was not a fan of Harvick, like him more now but still not much of a fan of his. When he won in ATL back in 2001, he drove car #29; the #3 was not used again until Austin Dillon moved into a Cup Car. He's the Grand Son of Owner Richard Childress.
I live in Middle GA, near Byron, GA just off I-75. There was a Half Mile Banked paved Oval track there & it hosted several NASCAR races (Grand Nationals then). Richard Petty. Fireball Roberts, Bobbie & Donnie Allison, Red Farmer, and more raced there. The track also was where the Atlanta Rock Festival was held (it was not at ATL Raceway which is bigger and closer to ATL) July 4th & 5th, 1969. I was 13 yrs old, did ride through the area, saw all kinds of things, even NAKED women :yeahbaby: which was huge at the time.
The track is still there, unkept, and unused. The parking area is off of Highway 41 (think of Allman Brothers song, ) & used as a Golf Range.
Great story about the track - under turn 3 was a moonshine still; got raided ; rather than blow it up concrete was poured down the hole it was in, and racing continued :lmao: .

University of Memphis said football season most likely will be back this fall but don't expect all fans to allowed in, looks like it will be limited to season ticket holders and with social distancing in place among groups.

Announcers for the majority of football games of all kinds try too hard to show how much they know. I can't take listening to most of them. When they start using the catchy little phrases or terms such as "runs well in space" or tell us what the QB is thinking (??) I am out.
U of Memphis is in same Conference as the school I played football at (and graduated from lol), East Carolina University. Due to 3 bad years after firing a successful & home grown Head Coach along with the hiring of a bad Chancellor & Athletic Director we are in debt & having to cut budgets (already one of the lowest in Conference AAC) along with a couple of sports. Our Head Football Coach now is outstanding but he's strapped with limited recruiting budget and unrealistic expectations.
Memphis put big money into Athletics a few years back and are now one of the top schools in our Conference. Coaching Salaries are another issue to deal with, and we have not done well with Support salaries.
As for post game interviews, I don't care to hear them. Heat of the moment comments should be taken with a grain of salt.
For fun, go to YouTube and find Key & Peele's All Star Football game player self introductions video. Hilarious!!!

Formula 1 had their first race of 2020 over the weekend and it was a great one. It makes distancing a little easier to take.

And after this first race and successive two, it's clear as the both championship it's all over for the first place. And this and next weekend in Silverstone, maybe also the weekend of the 16th August, because in Spain the pandemic explode again, the situation it will be the same, if not more worse for the contenders. The Mercedes have reached, in this 7 years, a level of performance and solidity so high and it's so difficult to catch for the others. It's a total domination never see in the history of F1, but i think in the all the motorsport. And with the rules it's been freezing for the next years, for the Covid, they have and another year for extend the domination.

I've never been one to worry about the cars at the front of an F1 race. The midfield has always been more interesting and more competitive. The four races so far this season have been very exciting for me. The race today at Silverstone was absolutely bonkers for the first few laps and the last few laps, but a bit of a snooze in between. Hamilton winning the race with a deflated tire was crazy.

One of the video games I have enjoyed the heck out of, for years now, is Warframe. Yesterday was their annual convention called TennoCon. I went to TennoCon last year in London, Ontario, Canada. This year it was entirely online, but they managed to do an amazing job with it all day. I ended up watching their Twitch stream for almost seven hours. The publisher's parent company is being sold; I hope the new owners don't mess with the game.

Yeah this win was really crazy a bit old style, so his was dominating the race but seriously risk to lose, crazy. But this confirm the bad feeling as the Pirelli tyres has with Silverstone, it was the 3rd times, since when their comeback in F1. in 2011, they had this problem, i don't know if u remember the UK GP 2013 with the tyres exploded on the straight, with more team had this problem, or ever on Silverstone in 2017 with both Ferrari had the same problem of the Mercedes yesterday, ever in the finals laps, even if they weren't playing the victory. The problem will be in this second weekend on Silverstone because the compounds will be one step more soft, while the last weekend Pirelli had brought the harder range of their tyres. Hope not gonna happen again. If doesn't happen this, the race would been really annoying and with a clear result, for me as followed all the free practice. Take off the Mercedes, yeah the team in the midfield had almost the same pace and race there, is almost funny, but with this cars if don't have at least 0.5 second more of pace u can't pass the car in front of u. So this year i completely had to change the approach of view the race, because my driver due that was my ex favourite team until almost 1 year and half ago, now is in the back of the midfield, and in two years this team had a scary down.
