Only found a gaming thread from 10 years ago, so I thought I'd start a new one, I hope that's okay!

So, any gamers here? What games are you currently playing (board or video)?
I used to play a lot of video games, I had the PS2/3/4, the PS Vita and the Nintendo 3ds.
Last game I was super into was God of War for the PS4.
My all time favorites are the Portal games, Tomb Raider and Infamous, but I somehow always go back to the old Nintendo games... I'm super bad at FPS or any tactical games, I'm just way too slow and easily stressed🤣
Having too much sex can cause memory loss. I read that on page 69 in a medical journal on the 4th of May in 2008.

I've got a Nintendo something. Probably bought it in the late '90's. I bought one for my son in Detroit, then bought another so he could play it when during his summer visits to Denver. Is that the latest issue??? LOL.

I've never played too many games. Mostly 4 or 5 Nintindos for that game console.
I can resist everything except temptation.

I've a PS2, after Xbox360 and now play only with PC with Steam. So basically i play only with sports games like FIFA, PES, NBA2K, Madden NFL, F1 and other games car simulation, with wheel and pedal. So i played also GTA and COF, but more years ago on PS2 and other games of war, but i don't like so much this kind of games, more adventure games, over sports games. So in the soon future i want assembly a PC more powerful.

recently played The last of Us part 2 on PS4. An amazing game though I think I liked the first one better. Before that was Red Dead Redemption II. Started replaying the Batman Arkham games on Xbox one. I was looking forward to the Avengers game but it started getting some pretty negative reviews and some friends who got it said they didnt think it was worth the money, so I think I'll wait until it drops way down in price. Cyberpunk 2077 looks like it will be pretty interesting when it drops next month.
Keep smiling. It makes people wonder what you are up to :-)

So, gaming.

I started playing Dungeons and Dragons (tabletop role playing) in 1980 and still play tabletop RPGs 1-2 times per week. Over 40 years now.

For board games, a friend and I would play Titan by Avalon Hill a couple times a week for a few years in the early 80s. After that I didn't play board games again until the 2000s, after the board game revolution started in the late 90s. Before the pandemic I was part of a group which would meet every other Friday evening to play, and another group that would meet all day Saturday once a month. I currently have well over 30 board games on shelves on the other side of the living room.

Video games have also been part of my life since I found arcades in the late 70s. By the early 80s, I could play Asteroids for several hours on a single quarter. My first, and pretty much only, console was a Pinball/Breakaway game that I bought from Sears in the late 70s. After that, I didn't pick up video games until I started playing World of Warcraft with friends in 2007. For about four years I played the heck out of it with my housemates and their young son. My buddy's brother would come over on Friday nights and we had a LAN party dungeon group in the dining room. We dropped WoW in 2011 for Star Wars the Old Republic, which we played for about nine months. Then it was Guild Wars 2. Then I moved.

During this time, I also started going over to a good friend's house on Saturdays. His best friend and I would have dinner with him and his family, then we would talk with his wife while we cleaned up and did the dishes. Then the three of us would go into the den and play MMOs until 2 in the morning. The list of games we played includes City of Heroes, Hellgate London, D&D Online, Conan, DC universe Online, Champions, Guild Wars 2, Secret World, Diablo 3, Warframe, and probably some that I am forgetting. We slowed down when I moved to NC at the end of 2014 and we stopped when my buddy's friend passed away a few months later.

These days, I mostly play Path of Exile and Warframe, though occasionally I pick up others like Fall Guys or No Man's Sky for a few months. When my daughter and her husband and their friends happen to be playing to same game I am, we get together over Discord (it's like Skype, or Zoom) and game together several times a week. They also play D&D together every Saturday, so my daughter is officially a second generation gamer now.

So, yeah. Games.

Been gaming since I was a kid. Gameboy then SNES then PC gaming. I grew up with Warcraft 2, DOOM and then Quake being the popular titles. Also a notable mention Everquest, Half-Life 1&2, Counter-Strike and Team Fortress 2. I picked up WoW after I graduated college in 2006. I don't know my /played time, but it's substantial. I took a few extended breaks over the past 14 years, but I'm currently playing actively.

I downloaded Call of Duty Warzone a few weeks ago but haven't really dived too deep yet.
