A drought in the bay area? You're right on the ocean. Hard to imagine, but I know that happens. Welcome to the board. Glad to have you join the zoo and post for us here. Next assignment, of course, is to come to Vicky's Sunday cam show. You will be properly astounded. Welcome.

I think of Seattle and all the rain they get in that area. But I don't think that area has that many mountains close by. I know that mountains tend to condense the moisture, due to the temperature differences. It then rains over the mountains and eastward, as the prevailing winds blow the clouds east. I've seen the same effect in Denver, and I know that is why Death Valley is so dry. The moisture has to cross 3 mountain ranges on it's way east. By the time it has crossed the third one, all the moisture has been rung out, so none left for the valley.

Welcome new poster WSJ!

Hope you enjoy the board and all my closest friends here!

It's been miserable here! Rainy and foggy, cold and windy. No snow, just dreary! No leaves on the trees, everything remaining is just brown and grey, and yucky! We need to get in the car and do a road trip to cheer us up! (Which always means fun film footage for the site, hehehe... yeah it sucks to be me... )

Oh, I know you're not close, I was just trying to think of the surrounding terrain. You have mountains further east and Seattle does the same. But your mountains may be further away. I was only in that area once and that was years ago, so don't really remember how close you are to mountains.
