Hello Julie and Vanessa,

When I heard the verdict I was in shock and devastated to hear this awful news. It's taken me until now to compose myself and write this. The justice system stinks; where is the justice here??

Julie you're innocent , I'm proud to call you a friend and don't believe the judge made the right decision in this case. You're lucky that Vanessa, Gunther and others are right behind you; family and friends are very important in times of need. Stay positive; I hope the appeal is upheld and this injustice is righted. Julie!

So I just heard the bad news ... Julie was just sentenced to 27 months in a minimium security facility...

Sorry to hear about this Vanessa. Thank you for keeping us informed about Julie.

If she can get an appeal, she most likely is dealing with two-thirds of that time, let's say 18 months here. She admitted to using a a dangerous weapon, which is also illegal. This is why the additional 9 months were tacked on. Although she was defending herself, and almost would have been severly hurt or maybe even been killed by her ex-boyfriend...

The judge did say he consulted with a few leading authorities to reach his decision.

... Like Walter said in his first post about this. The bottom-line here is that Julie went over the line. And Julie has to take the responsibility for all of her actions, not just some of them.

And her ex-boyfriend was fined $10,000 in contempt of court for the outburst. His bad behavior will not be tolerated and the judge was right in fining him. And well, any judge will do that. If the ex-boyfriend can't pay the fine, off to jail for him too. His family will need to put up their house to keep him out of jail as well.

A very sad situation overall to both Julie, her ex, their families and their friends.

Julie is a very sweet girl but she has one major character flaw. Her anger issues, overwhelm her at times. Remember what I said when she threw the pot at one of her current boyfriends. That is very troubling, indeed. Hopefully, she can get what she needs while being incarcerated. Anger-management counseling to deal with this very troubling matter.

God knows that all we can do is pray for Julie here, and hope she learns from this harrowing experience.

Hi I was with her for a hour today again. Like I said in the chat her smiles are there but her eyes are hollow, it's sad. After we get through the search they ask if they should handcuff and shakle her legs? We said are you kidding she's not going to hurt anyone. The one gaurd told us while we were waiting for her, they were nervous of her. He said they know she could over power them so they keep an extra gaurd on her when they move her. I thought your such an ass.
They're trying to fast track her appeal just things don't move fast in this system. They're hoping late next week, I don't know! Where she is now, everyday she's there counts as two days in the regular system, it's so over crowded.
She says hi to everyone, and says to Benny "Thank you, but quit making me cry damn you" She asked me to bring a copy of the updates, I told her I could only bring the print. I told her the cam at the Bunny Ranch didn't happen. She then told me what she thought The Bunny Ranch was. I was laughing so hard, then she said she saw the link and thought oh what was I thinking. Yes she really thought it was a ranch with cute little bunnys hopping around! Yeah she's a sweet girl.
Your right John she does have issues, she does not hide her emotions. She will get help for that it's one of the conditions for her release. If she refuses the help and that's her right there's no early release and she'll do the full time. More then likely they would transfer her to a Max surcuity at that point. It's up to you whether you want to or not, you are permanently welcome here on the board. If you need any help with that sort of thing just ask Walt, he is a moderator and can walk you through it.

Thank God she has you and Gunther. Please ask her if there is anything, anything at all that we can do for her. At some point we will be able to mail (snail mail) things to her right? Ask her what she wants and what we are allowed to send. I know she will be released early for good behavior and overcrowding. Hopefully the time will pass quickly and it will all be over and seem like just a bad dream. Tell her for me to please please be careful in there, and think very carefully about the people she makes friends with. She is far too trusting, as you know. You are judged according with who you associate with.

But please Vanessa help Julie to understand she is not a criminal and her cell mates may be. She must be on guarded and think for herself. Trio is lucky and has never been in the "Joint" In our circles we only know of a few that got DUI's over night jail, but inmates were so eager to recruit them!

I just got an email from Julie, herself. So cool. If you write her, please remember to keep it clean. No talk of sex or any related things. The one I first sent her, which included the letter I posted here, showed, for that part of the email, "Message truncated." I don't know if that was because of the length, or what. There was certainly nothing dirty or suggestive in it.

But, anyway, contact with the outside world is important. Write her if you can.

Hi today seemed ok, helped that she could send a few e-mails, and her getting to post cheered her up. Her lawyer was telling me not all that long ago this would never have gone to court. He said real men don't admit they got pounded by a girl (not that kind of pounded). There also was a restraining order placed on her after the fight. Since society wants everything politically correct it's going to happen. Then he looks at me and says I couldn't believe that little girl could beat the fuck out of him like that! I thought of all the cartoons her and I would watch and I said "She's like Bullwinkle, doesn't know her own strength" She may be transfered to another facility near here for the weekend. It's good cause she'll be able to go outside, but it's bad as it's next to the Edmonton Max and that's well..... I won't know untill tomorrow don't quote me ok.

We also went to her house, the sherriff's, and bank reps wanted his and her lawyers to see it. Looks just like it did when she was there. I went inside and wanted to cry, he's destroyed it. All the walls have holes in them. There was a picture of Julie and he had put a knife between her eyes. Lots of crap wrote on the walls, carpets full of burns. his lawyer looked at Julie's and said "He hasn't got a pot to piss in to get anything out of this" So she will get her house, Gunther, Darren and I are going to fix it as best we can so she doesn't have to see it like this!

I'll be going to see her without her lawyer, it costs $400 for him to go there. I can take to info for free to her and explain it (I hope) So that was my day with Jewel she did say to say HI EVERYONE and blew kisses

Julie's been tranfered to another intitution, the one she was at is a holding place for people awaiting to go to court. I haven't seen her yet I'm waiting for the proper paperwork so I can get clearance. I hope she got to go outside for a bit. Where she was at there's a window she could see it but got no sun. Even the place they put them in vans is inside, and the back of the van has no windows. This is just another temporary place for her. Everything is so crowded ucks for her.

Overcrowding can work in your favor. it sucks now, but it might just be for a little while.

You, Gunther and your dad can vouch for her, it can go a long way to helping her.

But now, with the house in the shape its in, why didn't you call the police about that?

You could have a case against him, all you need is finger prints of him at the scene and you've got proof.

Show them just how bad things have become because of that bastard.

i know the judge must've gotten a pretty good idea of the guy just by his reaction in court,
So maybe he (judge) could show clemency or leniancy since she's is a upstanding citizen, compared to the ex. She's a freakin flower compared to him !

Try to show him photos of what he did, and even get the police to take finger prints of the knife. Show how he broke in and got in the house , if you haven't destroyed evidence, you've got a good case against him, if not for death threats (knife) then breaking and entering in the very least.

Hi we're at where Julie is, just waiting to through the search. They'll take thi mobile away at that point no electronic devices allowed. I have Darren and Gunther so on edge they think they're going to go through a body cavity search. They search you and a dog is there too. I have lots of pots from the board anything sexual removed or black sharppie through it. I hate cencership but it' the only way. She'll write something for you if she has time. We have 3 hours.

Juli's case is before an appeal judge, we hope to hear something by Friday. I don't know what's going to happen, lots of asuming and I don't want to start that. Just cross your fingers and toes.
