I googled Jeremy Cornish, he played 5 years in England. He didn't score or set up many goals, but played the game rough!

Looks like Pittsburgh will be back in the Stanley Cup final. Wings and Hawks fuck I don't know with the Hawks winning Friday night.

Not quite Pompey were safe after last weeks results.
It hasn't been a good season but the future isn't bright, the Icelandic owner of the club has suffered severe losses in the global credit crunch and is looking to sell, which probably means the three better players we have will be sold to balance the books.
But hey if you are a supporter your'e there in the bad times as well as the good.

Not sad more of a disaster, the season fell apart after he left. Tony Adams may have been the best centre half in England in his time but as a manager he didn't cut it.

The Red Wings gave the Hawks a lesson in playoff hockey today. 6-1 they dominated in every aspect of the game. Looks like a replay of last years final Pittsburgh and Detroit!

Stiffy you don't use roids yet you don't have a problem when someone like A-rod uses them???? To me they're ruining the game, sure they put up big numbers. Just now it's to the point when someone does well everyone is going to second guess them. I believe the Commissioner of baseball has to grow some balls and kick them out. Anywhere they're mentioned in The Hall Of Fame (homeruns etc.) there should be an * and saying what they used to cheat to get there name there. Pete Rose gets a life time ban for betting on games that his team wasn't involved in, yet these guys so far have a free pass :wtf: You suggest we watch Bigger, Stronger, Faster maybe you should watch The Babe he saved baseball. They need someone to do the same thing again! I love to watch baseball the Tigers and Dodgers, but if any of those players were caught I would not defend them. :1106:

i have nothing against them if they use drugs, it's their decision. Hell If I do bodybuilding, that "sport" has the most steroid usage than any other one. I personally wouldn't use steroids just because I don't want to harm my body and get as big as the pro bodybuilders. There are natural levels in BB though and those guys are big, but the roid guys are just huge.

roid rage is a myth. Studies have shown it does cause somewhat increased aggression BUT not to the point of people freaking out and punching holes through walls or that type of stuff. That is just someone with a bad temper. Media likes to blow things out of proportion like if someone commited suicide (say they had some depression) but they found steroids in his apartment, they would blame the steroids.

So that wrestler that freaked out and killed his family he was just fucked in the head and the media blames it on the roids. I've never done them so I have no right to say what they do are don't do. But I know one thing you are defintly right about the media blowing things out of proportions. :-devil: :-devil: :-devil:

Did you read that in a medical journal or a muscle mag? That doctor that got the roids for Chris Benoit is now in jail for his part in the deaths. Is there a link between roids and rage, that depends on the article you read. Just because someones says there isn't does not end the contraversy. If it was all so good why would there be such an uproar when someone does it. Simple it has killed people, both the user and inocent victims. It goes deeper then just setting false records!

It should be noted, though, Vanessa, that the type of steroids that Chris Benoit was taking was in far excess and for a fundamentally different purpose than the kind of steroids that Barry Bonds and Alex Rodriguez are accused of using. I don't think you have been seeing stories of A-Rod and Bones flipping out as of yet.

Plus, the lifestyle of a pro wrestler is such -- with the touring, the weekly grind, the circus show-like mentality, and the low pay (except if you happen to become a feature like, say, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson or Hulk Hogan) -- that it can do serious damage to your social life...in addition to the knocks to your brain from five too many head slams. Benoit may have been suffering with a lot more than just abuse of 'roids...though that doesn't in any way undercut the responsibility of his doctor for feeding them to him regularly.

Not defending steroids in any form, since I prefer competition done the more natural way.

Your right Anthony, I would never disagree with that. Just the bottom line is why are they doing it? Presure to preform, why; they've been under that they're whole life. I can't think of the pitchers name who died of an O.D. on efedra (poor spelling). Maybe it is mild what there doing, but baseball doesn't want that again and who can blame them. If they don't get control of it we all know it will happen!

Professional baseball has always had troubles with gamblers, ask Shoeless Joe Jackson, Eddie Cicotte, and the rest of the 1919 Blacksox. Hal Chase, Denny McClain and a few others. Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays, as retired players, were on the ineligible list too, when they represented Atlantic City casinos. Once they stopped representing them, then they came into "good" status.

Ever since Kenesaw Moutain Landis made his decision in 1920, Players, coaches and managers take a solemn oath that they will not violate their skills and abilities by throwing "fixed" games controlled by gamblers. There is even a sign in the team's clubhouses that specifies this. Pete Rose has known about this rule ever since he was a rookie second baseman with the Reds in 1963.

The problem with Pete Rose, the Reds manager, was that he did bet on games where his team was involved. Instead of bringing in Rob Dibble in a solid save situation, he may have brought in an other pitcher, or maybe the setup guy Norm Charlton, and the game would then be tied or the Reds would eventually lose. Or Rose may have taken out his starting pitchers - Mario Soto (in one game) or Jose Rijo (in another) - when they weren't ready to be relieved. Ultimately, having his team lose. John Dolan's report said so. He produced Pete's betting "book" which said for example, Cincinnati 5 and a half over Philadelphia in July. Basketball and hockey weren't playing. When everyone knew that it wasn't the Bengals over the Eagles!!! They also had sworn depositons and testimony of his bookie too. The Commissioner took this all in and this is why A. Bartlett Giamatti threw Pete Rose out of Major League Baseball in 1988. The integrity of the game came into question just like in Landis' time.

I agree Vanessa. Detroit should win it all again. The Chicago Blackhawks haven't been in a Stanley Cup Final since Bobby Hull and Tony Esposito were playing. A troubled franchise? You betcha.

I guess Jean-Claude Van Dam's 1995 Sudden Death along with Powers Booth can't now come to pass ... In that film, the Penguins and Blackhawks were in the final. Oh well.
