It depends on the internet speed and the user's computer, but generally the more gifs there are on one page the longer it will take for them to load. A friend of mine that does web development always calls them "heavy pages".

the previous page loaded fairly quickly, to be honest i didn't notice the other gifs before charlee's, work of art i must say.

They just have to download and it's gonna take time. once downloaded the animation restarts and it runs smooth. guess it really depends on your internet speed.

but might be good to start another thread for those with slower modems

Rokkerr, I like these, and I'm sure everyone does, but there is so much processing power used in so many .gifs that it takes a long time for them to even come up. For these last two, it took 3-1/2 minutes for them to come up and work like they should.

Comments? Questions? Does anyone else have that problem?

I'm willing to bet that at least part of that is due to maybe other processes running on my 'puter, but I'm betting a lot of it is simply so many .gifs trying to run at once. What do you think/suggest? I'm on my laptop, so I'll look at this page on my DT, too and see what happens.

Oh, they come up, Rob, sometimes quicker than others. This page came up quickly. I know that there are some processes on my machine that are better stopped. For example, when I run Flight Simulator, for best performance, I need to shut down several processes.
