Sorry about your knee. Did you hit the bag at all? When you kick at something like a bag, you do so with full force. If you miss the bag, your foot/leg/knee has nothing to "stop" it, so your knee slaps straight out, and the knee is what stops the movement once your leg is straight, in effect, trying to bend backwards, which, of course, it can't do. So, it sounds like you have severely strained the muscles and tendons associated with that knee. I'd stay off it for a couple days, with ice packs.

So my knee is better, not perfect, it doesn't feel totally stable, I just be careful with it. My wrist is 90% better, but my elbow is still a little out of whack. We were learning a backwards surprise punch, I'd have to show you on cam, lol... basically you are facing the person and you spin around 360 degrees clockwise and hit him full force with the back of your right hand. Problem is if the distance is not just right you throw out your elbow. So I try to do it slow and gentle to learn it first but this teacher knows how hard I can hit, and he tells me to give it all I got each time. What an ass. He is going way too fast for everyone. It's like he wants to squeeze 2 years of boxing and mixed martial arts into an 8 week course. One girl quit already, she's not coming back because she hurt her wrist so bad. The other girl missed the last 2 classes because she ended up on her head after doing a running kick at the bag.

So the last class I was the only one there! I told him I'd rather box and learn combinations, I'm not so fond of all the kicks. He got pissed and said "oh are you the teacher, do you run the classes? You can't be a baby and only learn what you want, you can't pick and choose, you have to learn all of it." So I really tried my best, gave it my all, and ended up putting my back out. I think it would be better if we had a really heavy huge bag, that went to the floor, you know the ones that are filled with water? They don't move as much. Because being a newbie, it's when the bag is flying around and you have to time it and judge distance on the fly, that's when I get hurt. At the other boxing gym I used to go to (that's 30 -35 min away) we used to have a partner and hold the bags for each other, and only go solo on the massive heavy bags. I told this teacher that, and he said "do you think an opponent is going to just stand there and let you hit him? no he is going to bob and weave and move and you have to try to hit him." I think he is treating us like we are more advanced than we really are.

I was going to quit last week, but stupid me, I paid for the 8 week course in advance, lol.... I think I learned my lesson, I'm going back to my old boxing gym, even though it's further and I hate sitting in traffic, and I'll lost my money, but it's worth it. Right now I can't run or box or do much of anything. I'm walking around like a little old lady. They are much more professional and know what they are doing at my old gym. They've never had a single injury at least that I know of, since I started going there 2 years ago.

That is like so many professionals out there. They may be good, but not really able to adjust their student's levels to the processes. You certainly can go too fast, especially with such serious training. You are right, if you don't like him, get away. If a lot of his students are getting hurt and quitting, that's a major indicator. Now, yesterday you hurt your back. Time to back off a bit and go at YOUR pace.

The things he said are right (an assailant isn't going to just stand there and let you kick him.) But, in training, you do not start at full bore. Sounds like he is an Advanced trainer, while you need more of a Beginner trainer.

PLease take care of that body. We don't want to see it broke (I assume you and Rokkerr don't, either. :lmao: )

Yeah, I talked to the training manager over there who is the guy I do my weights with, he agreed with me. He admitted they may have a problem and said "thank god we are insured in case anyone gets hurt seriously." That pissed me off even more. So good for you - you are insured. What about the pain and suffering of the girl who really gets hurt bad because of this moron? What if she has no insurance and can't work, and loses her job because of it? The other two girls who have been taking this class with me are both Hooters waitresses, lol... and they are both quitting. Maybe I can get my money back.

Regardless, I'm going back to my old gym even though it's a lot further, it's worth it. I already called them.....

PS. I have no idea where stiffy is, I haven't heard from him in a while, hope he's ok....

Good deal on the old gym, Vicky. Sometimes we need to make trade-offs. Besides, you cruising thru traffic in your Vette? Or even in the jeep? Wow. ALL the lights will turn red, just so everyone can get a good look. "Oh, MAN, check out that hot blonde in the Black Vette!" heehee. I remember how good you look in both them cars. Hell, you even looked good in my old Toyota. lol. Just put on your favorite Rock and Roll and enjoy the ride.

yeah that guy has a problem. he needs to review his job description.

i'm sorry you got hurt bad, he's very unpro. these kinds of things shouldn't happen in a gym, you're right to go back to the better one.

remind him you paid for training to get/stay in shape not world champ boxing.

OMG Vicky how can they train like that, it's stuff like that, that forces people out of the gym. When we train at Tae Kwon it's baby steps all the way. We make it fun to be there well most times, I'm not keen on giving a guy a piggy back ride across the do jang as fast as you can. You know what I mean though it's based on fun but pushing them at the same time. We do a move with a 360 just we kick instead, the idea is a kick to the head or upper body.

I have joined a gym, I'm getting out of shape. I haven't bench pressed for a while and I can only do 40kgs and my legs are real weak for me. I'm also trying to get work there

Yeah my knee, wrist and elbow are still not back to normal, I can use them, I went to boxing bootcamp this morning (cause I felt really guilty about the massive quantities of ice cream last night), and my knee was swollen the rest of the day. I think in time, it will all be fine, but thank God I left that trainer when I did, cause I'm sure he wouldn't stop till he caused permanent damage.

Carmen and I are going to a boxing fitness class this morning. It's at 9 am, and is a 100 station circuit. With 30 sec at each station, and the time in between stations they say it's going to take about 1 to 1.5 hours. That should help offset the 5000+ calories we are going to eat today! lol.. each station is jumping jacks, situps, pushups, burpees, hitting a bag, bicycle, etc....

When we come back to my house we are making chocolate/peanutbutter/marshmallow/butterscotch squares, and I made 4 pumpkin pies last night! One is already destroyed, lol....

We're going skiing today at Marmont Basin in ******, drove half the night to get here and I'm so excited! I haven't been skiing since April 09, so I'm gonna suck on skis. We've been waiting for the bus for over 1 hour so the best way to pass the time is to get it on in the truck :nannerfuck2:

There's 19 runs open right now, and it's snowing so hard so should be perfect out there. First run I'm going on is a double black diamond run, so wish me luck. No sence starting off slow, gotta go for the rush and give her. I have my helmet Vicky, it's not my head I worry about hurting, it's my perfect body, so I have nothing to worry about :rofl: it won't be crowded and I know some great places to stop for some action.

Finally back doing what I love so much! :smile:

HotJulie, Wish that I was with you on double black diamonds. Be careful, ware the helmet and you are skilled so hot body will be fine! Just go fast and steep. Below is a true ski adventure that I had Laura post back in 2009 when Vicky was headed to New Hampshire to go skiing.

Moral of this adventure so far is: 1. Hot woman distract guys from focusing on the task at hand (watching for his friends) and 2. Better to ski down the hill full speed at the brink of disaster than to go slow! See Rokkerr you would have been fine.

Now, this part should be in a book. Being in rural New Hampshire a few years back, the ambulance company that was called also ran hearses for local funeral homes. The call came in for an ambulance just after they had finished a funeral. Rather than waste time and drive many mountain miles back to get an ambulance, you guessed it, they picked him up in the hearse complete with left over flower petals on the floor!

Jeb thought, OMG the leg hurts like hell and now they are taking me straight to hell maybe for too many escapades with hot woman!!!

He came to at the hospital in a bit of a fog after the Dr. had set his leg. At first he thought that somehow maybe he had ended up in heaven and not hell. He looked down to see a blond Scandinavian nurse with huge Boobs trying to wash some cast plaster off of his balls. Right away, Jeb got a big woody. The nurse said "Wow, I have never seen someone in so much pain be so eager, You flatter me!"

So as you can see, all good escapades go full circle and get back to SEX!!!

I just turned 40 3 months ago, and honestly, I feel like I'm in the worst shape of my life.

Where do I start? I belong to a gym that a pay $40 to a month to NOT workout.....

I had so much fun skiing, Vicky the only thing that I hurt was my pride. Got off the first chair lift and fell on my ass, then when I got up I slipped and fell again.

Rob, I think we all just try to inspire each other to be the best we can. To me I love to workout, weather it's skiing, throwing bales on the farm or going to the gym. I read what Vicky does and I wish I had her stamina! I cheer for everyone that says they did something in the gym or outside to get active! Vicky is the best example there is cause of her hectic life and still makes time to take care of herself!

Rob I always think about when I go to the gym is I say "I get to go, I never have to go!" when I was a trainer and guys would tell me how boring cardio was I'd whisper to them. "Get a machine behind some hottie and enjoy the view of her ass!" Was it wrong maybe but if it worked what the hell! Rob decide what you want and take baby steps to get there. Post your stats, I'm sure someone can inspire you, damn look at Vicky she's the perfect inspiration!
