Ahh, yes -- Eric Idle, Michael Palin, Terry Jones, Graham Chapman, John Cleese, and Terry Gilliam, -- known collectively as Monthy Python's Flying Circus Troupe -- are excellent!!! A very big smile for mentioning them...
I love their films ranked as follows - Monty Python and Search for the Holy Grail, followed by The Meaning of Life, and lastly The Life of Brian
Their shows on public television show up occasionally - Channel 13 and Channel 21 - here in New York are classics.
And even George Harrison loved them too... his Time Bandits was a film done in their production studios and along the English countryside.
When a Beatle loves you...nothing can go wrong!!!!

I never got too deeply into Monty Python, altho I know they are very popular. (These are good clips.) I certainly liked Benny Hill, but, let's be honest, Walt, would you have liked him as much without all the busty, nearly naked women, ya old fart?? (Probably.)

... All so right Walter - Benny Hill, the old short bald guy, and those many busty, gorgeous, lovelies on The Benny Hill Show .. A big smile for remembering!!!... but... Why did the old bald guy get to do all the fun stuff with the those gorgeous honeys??? :))
Anyway, do you also remember the Aussie equivalent, Paul Hogan's show, The Paul Hogan Show ?... also with tremendous busty babes as well!!!! :))

English comedy really is different, it's so dry and different, I swear norwegian comedy is slapstick in comparison, one of my favorites is Faulty Towers, I could watch that show over and over again and just laugh myself silly....

Yes, Fawlty Towers with John Cleese. At the hotel. A smile!!! Very good. I'm so very proud of you Vicky for remembering...
Dave - Do you remember an English sitcom comedy where the all the characters worked in a department store, and they would make fun of the owners of the store. Two gentlemen worked in Men's clothing, another lady worked in Women's perfume and another lady worked in Women's lingerie. It's name escapes me now... but it sure was funny... It appeared on public television....

They're all still on BBC! I just love Basil!
I like Monty Python and Benny Hill as well. I remeber the show you're talking about John, but can't remeber the name of it. I think it was set in WWII, or maybe I'm getting that part confessed with anohter one, it had Colin Macrea from the American version of Whose Line is it Anyway.John_fromNY wrote:Yes, Fawlty Towers with John Cleese. AbFab is fantastic! Did you know that the lady who plays the lead writes it and produces it too I think, as well as stars in it! She is an absolute genius! The one-liners in there are tops! And her drunk slut friend is classic! Great acting!
That show and "married with children" are two of the best I've ever seen, I don't watch tv much, but those are worth it, lol...

Vicky, you like "Married With Children?" I LOVE YOU!
My sweetie thinks that show is ridiculous and me a nutzo liking it (well, I am.) That is one of the funniest shows I've seen. The poor Bundys are so inept. Al, (my hero), poor loser, ya gotta cheer when he finally wins one. And Peg, she is so funny ("What's that big white thing?" "It's called a stove, Pookie.")
Soooo funny!
