HI this is from BadboyJebby:

If you have not used iPhone "Google" and "Google Translate" Apps go to your App Store, search and download now. There is a little Mike icon one taps. Then just speak. Cosmic cyber geeks somehow go search for what you are looking for rather than having type in your search. Translator has a mike to hear what you translate from say English to say Spanish which is helpful for me these days. Both Apps are not perfect and tolerate a bit of background noise. If I speak clearly OMG both are WOW!

Dump your Androids and go Apple.

Tell your friends!

I'm deactivating all of my Google crap - cookies, etc. They collect way too much personal info (they say they don't,) but I don't think anybody has the right to clooect info about me. If you use the GPS features, Google collects info about where you are, etc. I say none of their damn business.

Walt, I think that Laura and Sue posted for me in "bits and bytes" how to stop Google from watching all that you do and still use all of their great features. I am not a spy etc. and don't really care what Google may know about me and that is just unnecessary naive fear. Much more concerned about the thugs now in DC watching all we do and no way to stop them as they move to be more like China.

Here is another great Google free Apple App. for those of us without Apple Siri yet. Go to the app store and get free Dragon voice recognition software. Better than typing. It's not perfect, but I just talking then go back and edit. Much faster and easy after you try it a bit and learn.

Also, works with Facebook and Twitter. Go to settings it looks like a gear and add. WOW! Great for us old farts when Laura is not around to take DickTaking and type for me.

If I can figure it out you will too. Tell your friends.

I'm really dumb about all of this, I just decided to dump my LandLine and try the plan offered by Wal-Mart, because it's unlimited minutes, text, data, etc for $45/mo. I got an LG phone. Can Jeb or Laura or Sue or anyone tell me anything about it? Good? Bad? Bad choice? Hit me if you have to. Sometimes I learn the hard way.

Walt,

We just called Jebby and as a former Verizon executive he said "Dump Walmart" ASAP. Legaly you have up to 30 days. Do it now! How many minutes do you use per month on voice, text and data? All you can eat for $45 / month is just a ploy. After takes etc. that is like $55 per month.

Per Jebby get the iPhone 4 and go with AT&T after taxes about $67 / month with lowest 400 minute voice and limitless nights from 9 PM till 7 am and weekends free too. If you call another cell phone user on AT&T Free at any time. Get the lowest data plan of 200 MB and 200 texts. Use free WiFi everywhere and we will tell you free apps to find and MacDonalds, Burger King, Starbucks and more and more. Get a router for home WiFi and and not eat up data there too. Know your billing cycle and watch voice, text and data usage. Free on line or just call for free *DATA# for data text update and *Min# for voice. Jeb pays for us and yet we never go over.

You will be so happy in short time with AT&T iPhone 4. It freaks us out everyday and even tech executive Jebby. Get the phone only at a company owned AT&T store NOT a slimy dealer. Or Apple store at http://www.apple.com/retail/cielovistamall/ Store Information
Address:
8401 Gateway Boulevard West
El Paso, TX 79925
(915) 774-8020

Then take the course on how to use after you play with the iPhone for a short time and have questions after the course. We will help you and you will move LIGHT Years ahead of Walmart for only a few more dollars. You get what you pay for! Just cut back on Gent Jacks and a bit of food rich man that drives to LA and all over for the VNA ladies.

Below are WalMart crap phone not to get suckered into and an iPhone.

LOL, funny picture. Thanks for the info. Give me a little time to process it all. By getting this phone, I did cut about $50 off my monthly bills. I dropped my land line (FINALLY! My folks had the number for 35 years and I felt some sort of attachment to it. I know, I'm just weird,) so that saved me about $40 per month. Then she said that without phone service, my internet would rise from $40 to $43 per mo., which I could handle. Then she said thet had a promotion where I could sign up for twice the up and download speeds (now 768 KB up, 6 mb down) for $30/mo for a year. So, that's another $10.

I don't expect to use a lot of data. I won't be checking my email, shopping, stuff like that. Most of my usage will still be phone. That's why I don't want to get too complicated. I won't use most of it. I might use the maps sometimes, but I also have GPS in my car which works great.

I'll think about all you said and go from there. Thanks for the help.

Uncle "hasn't a clue about all this new-fangled shit" :walt: :lmao:

Walt, the iPhone is not completed and will enhance your life in ways that you may never have thought possible. It is sort of like when you were a kid and never know what sex was and now … porn and more. On the iPhone there are more useful apps than you can dream of. After being in the tech business for +25 years it freaks me out everyday! You are good with “puters” even helping L&S and others. Shortly you will be good with your iPhone and saying like sex “how did I live without it?” As a former exec. with Verizon if you need help in what to say and do to get out of what you have now, please contact me. I got my iPhone for free and 3 months of free usage. “Just do it” now and you will in a short time be very thankful.

I just dictated this note to my iPhone and had minimal editing and typing which is much faster for me. That is just one of thousands of things on the iPhone that will help make your life better.

Wow! For folks with a GMail account, Google has come up with the ultimate app. This is so cool, you should get to Google, open up a GMail account on your phone/ipad/ipod/whatever and immediately start texting your friends faster than ever before.
