Not to freak you out but we track how well the site is doing..... Vicky has the most members ever again as of today, and had the most members online at the site...... pretty cool stuff. Vicky is considering a revamp of the front page because she is tired of being criticized for have an amateurish non-pornstar looking site. I say we need to remove some clutter but am against the typical airbrush sites..... what are your thoughts? Should we keep on doing what we are doing? I think the content and being different is far more important... just throwing it out there.

Keep in mind that most people seem to like "bells and whistles," flashing lights, etc., even tho they don't mean anything. I have seen some pretty nice home pages and some lousy ones. I will look around and mention some pages I like.

Hey that's a good idea -- Span the globe Walter, search other websites for material, bring these ideas over. Form a plan - maybe think of some newer ideas, work with Vicky, Benny, and Dave. However, whose to say, that Mr.. ..Critic/Reviewer of most popular websites to then say, hey you know, Vicky Vette basically has copied:

If it was up to me - keep it the same, being original - the so-called amateurish non-pornstar looking website - Who really cares? .. Is Vicky (and Dave) happy with the layout? - Is Benny happy with all the work that he has done to establish the website graphics and such that have gone into the site thus far? ... all Y E S !!!!! answers ... Then don't worry about it... word gets around....

I've told you this before when this subject has come up - I prefer a clean page. I hate all the flashing flash crap that some of these girls put up. You can't even find a way into the site because there's shit flashing in your face from all directions. Why do webmasters think this is good for business? Because it's flashy and glitzy? Guess that must be the engineer in me talking because we're not known for getting along well with marketing people (read Dilbert for proof, lol). Don't be pressured into doing stupid shit that you don't like because of some dumb ass. Vicky, I have only belong to 2 other sites, Amanda Lexx and Hot Wife Realty. Your site offers more substance and entertainment than those two have to offer.
I have a friend that has at one time belong to more sites at one time or the other than you can count. He was the one that signed me up on vickyathome. He said yours was the best. Your members can move around easly and find anything they want in the adult entertainment.

The webmaster that talked to Dave is mad and jealous because he and other webmaster do not have yours and other stars business; and from what John has pointed out there must be a lot of them.

Vicky, believe in what you have accomplished your success speaks for itself. When you change things it is always an improvement.

Oh, but I have a few words -- mostly consisting of four-letter bombs -- that I could say to those "critics" who moan about Vicky's "amateurish non porn site": but I have an response that is so much better than anything I could say.

I don't know if any of you have heard the name Shauna O'Brien before...she was a strictly softcore erotica performer and former Penthouse Pet/Pet of the Year finalist (January 1992), who was one of the first women to run an adult Internet website by herself....namely, her Women of the Web site. (She is now basically retired from the biz.) Back in 2003, when she was asked about how it was to be one of the pioneers in adult webmistressing, she responded with the following blast, which holds just as true today with those "critics" of Vicky.

The "webmaster" takes 50% of all money made through the site for making the site....and sometimes they even charge an up-front fee and take a % [percentage] after that.

The thing is that the "webmasters" keep the girls in the dark as to what the site is really making, as to skip off the top. (I know for a fact that it happens to MOST of the girls online.) The site can and will make money, but only if the girl is very active with it.

How many sites have you yourself joined that has promised this and that just to get you to spend your hard-earned money? Then, once you join the site....it sucks. There are no new pictures or updates as promised....and if there are updates, they are thinly [veiled] nothing updates. I know girls that will put up a "diary" in their members' section, then add a little paragraph or 2 to it telling about their day shopping, or seeing a movie....THEN they call that an "update". GIVE ME A FRIGGIN BREAK....LOL....What a crock of crap.

How could you charge someone a monthly membership to read what kind of sandwich you ate yesterday? They do that so it looks like there is A LOT going on in their members side, so that you will just see many updates per week....but in fact, they ain't giving you shit.....lol

That is what a newsgroup [or, in today's parlance, a MySpace group] is for....and if you want to add that type of "Daily Diary" stuff to get your members something to read, that's cool....but don't play it off like all those stupid entries are worthy of labeling as a real update!!! LOL....Pleeeeeeasssse.

Anyways....lol..whew...

Yes, there are a lot of girls on the 'Net. The 'Net has been a total Godsend for many girls....girls who have not really done anything; maybe been in a few movies, or a couple of magazines....those girls have turned to the 'Net to make money. But a website is supposed to compliment your career, not BECOME one (!!!)...lol Many of these girls would either be sponging off some boyfriend - or who knows what else - to make money if it wasn't for the 'Net. In this aspect, it is great for them.

OR....they just go to a site they like and, like a shopping list, they jot down all the things and features they like. Yes, I have had a lot of help with WOW, and have never claimed to know anything more than I do. I get a lot of help from the members - the people who use the site - as those are the people the site is really for.

Yes, there are a lot of girls on the 'Net, and it's good for them....but the last thing I will comment on in this post is the fact that the 'Net thing has gone to too many of the girls' heads...BIGTIME. I have seen - and I'm sure you have, too - girls that maybe have been in a few magazines - and that's it - calling themselves "Super Models" on their sites to promote themselves!?!? LOL...Who actually believes that shit?

Then you have the girls that have been featured or have starred in maybe - MAYBE - some films....then you go to their sites and they refer to themselves as "Movie Divas" and "Movie Stars"?!?! DAMN....That makes me laugh.

I guess it's all about convincing you of anything to get you into their members side...so they can make money off you, so they can get drinks at the next party....lol....who knows...makes me laugh.

Ah, dewd....you do know that much of your competition consists of people walking around with their camcorders doing exactly that, do you?? You do know that these days, anyone with a portable cam, access to YouTube, and minimal knowledge of PHP or HTML can produce their own website in an instant, do you??

Now, if you are going to crack back on a woman who has only been in the business for around 3 years and yet already has one of the top adult websites in the world, why not show us your expertise?? I like the new front page. I pretty much agree with what everyone else is saying - you have a main page where one can go wherever he wishes, and an Updates page, so one can see what's new. I do feel that you should change the front page on occasion (once a month? Bi-Monthly?) That way, when people first reach your site, the'll say, "OOh, something new." What I have noticed it that when I visit a site where the entrance hasn't changed in months, usually the content hasn't changed a lot, either. So, I don't spend a lot of time looking around.
If the front page has changed, chances are the content has, too. And I am much more liable to look further. (And, that's where your Updates page comes in handy.)

Thank you Donor, yes... Like Vicky ... All those women webmistresses I mentioned pretty much run their own websites. They are very good down-to-earth ladies!! Unlike Mr.. .. Pissoff Dickhead, that webmaster, that Rokkerr spoke with online.

And thank you Anthony for being so candid in your approach... Yes, I'll agree with everything you said and what Shauna O'Brien said as well. I'll even add something. You spoke about how webmasters take so much from the models they actually work for. I can give you a perfect example of how they rip off their employers off... Ever hear of a model named Tyler Fox? ... A lovely redhead from Canada, quite busty too in fact!! *Wink, Wink* ... Anyway, she had so much trouble with her prior webmaster... They had a big falling out. So much so, that she had for years tried to start up her own site, as Tyler Stevens .. but every link that she had up (in other girls' sites) went back to her prior ex-webmaster, and he earned all the dollars from it..Isn't that terrible!! ... Now, finally she has her own site up... http://TylerOnTop.com and she is very happy with it!! It's her own ideas and hard work and tears to finally get it to where she wants it.. And yes, I'm a proud member of her site... A big smile ... and not her jackass, ex-webmaster's piece of sh*t!!!!

My trouble with webmasters/webmistresses started... quite by accident. I, being new to this, in 2001 enrolled in my first adult website. I chose a username and password. Ones that I could easily remember. Unfortunately, I kept using them over and over and over again on a lot of other pay websites too... Eventually both came to pass - on, you guessed it, a website where passwords/usernames are stolen... [See my April 18th post on Vicky's subject, in Press Releases entitled, "latest review" about Mephistopheles...lol!!..]

Walter's right -- I could do this too, if I wasn't working....Heehee!!! I betcha he's one of these guys who steals passwords and usernames during the day too.

... Anyway, back to my point, where those unauthorized users can gain access to a website. Unfortunately, no one tells you that... you continue to pay as a member the monthly surcharge. Until you try to gain access one day as the registered user and find out you're blocked by Pennywize or some other program that restricts access done by the webmaster. Then the emails flow, most of these webmasters or webmistresses are quite compassionate and understanding and they allow you back in, with subtle changes of course ... However some don't:

...There was the UK website, Faith Nelson's site, http://www.InBedwithFaith.com where I was blocked and lost my membership priviledges, because of these same username/password matters, so I'm banned there...

...But the worse case, of my troubles, was Shannon Stewart, Playboy's Miss June 2000. I join her site, http://www.ShannonStewart.com in late 2004.. She makes no updates soon after I join... guys leave her messages on her board, with no responses from her at all. No one knows what's happening!! Here is a girl that leaves her website, unprotected for 18 months or so to have a infant daughter. Her toddler is so very cute!!... But she doesn't notify anyone about anything... and because there are no updates , I tend to visit the site less and less frequently... Unbeknownst to me, my username and password to her website hits what I've described above: ...a password sharing site ... Then the twisted evil unauthorized lurkers come... I try to gain access in April 2006 and I'm blocked.. I contact ccBill.com. Their answer, "Miss Stewart has personally blocked me and restricted my access" .. Why? As so much damage was done to her website... Is that crazy of what?? ... She doesn't say anything for a year and a half, no one knows what's happening, she could dead or alive... and I keep paying the monthly fees. I finally decide to come for a visit... and boom.. I'm blocked, I'm banned ... As once Miss Stewart does get back full-time to her website, she finds out that her website has been compromised and hacked by unuathorized guys and then she blames ME for all her problems!! You should have seen the email I wrote to her...I gave her a good piece of my mind. I was mad. in fact very mad!!

Now everything is fixed, thank God - that took about 20 months to get right. Did I learn my lesson, damn right I did. Never use a same username/password over and over again!!!

Webmasters..you love them, you hate them, but you sure as hell can't live without them..

Regarding the stolen user accounts and passwords... Some of you know that we're running a system that automatically detects unauthorized use of this site and blocks immediately. The smart girls are all running this but most of these girls don't have the foggiest idea what's going on with their sites. Vicky, Rokkerr, and I are all actively involved with monitoring what's going on here and we've set some policies that are pretty restrictive. You'll note that none of you have been blocked permanently and even if your account ends up on some sharing site and gets compromised, we can fix it and pretty quickly. I'm the guy doing the security here and I have a pretty good understanding of how sites are compromised. Rest assured that the nightmares you described on other sites will never happen here because Vicky and I have already worked out ways to keep the real members here and get rid of those who don't belong. Rokkerr has made some significant contributions as well with his love of statistics. Between the three of us, we always know what's going on here and the members benefit by not being unfairly blocked or accused of doing something they had no knowledge of. The security implemented here protects the members from fraudulent use of their accounts and protects Vicky's investment in the site. Everyone benefits in my opinion.

Vicky, the simple design is what makes this site WORK. You could put a tonne of effort into transforming the website and making this place look more like a 'pro porn site' - but that would leave you with less time to spend chatting to us.

And I think I speak for most of the guys here when I say the main plus point (apart from you being the hottest woman out there!) is that you take the time to interact with us on a daily basis. We don't give a shit what the front page looks like - in fact I was actually attracted by how simple it was when I first visited. Flash sites are all talk and no action. You get drawn in by pretty images and once they've got your money you get little content worth talking about.

With Vickyathome, you get total bang for your buck.
