It is a different style of show for Marvel. Don't want to give out any spoilers but I will say this season is not really a orgin story. Jessica is a mess and you do find out why (very touchy subject). Take out the superpower stuff and it really is strong story on it's own.

Side note: For anyone who didn't know all the Marvel series on Netflix (Daredevil , Jessica Jones, and the future ones) are all part of the MCU (Marvel Cinema Universe) also includes Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D

I watched the movie Pretty Women tonight, I've never seen it before and I sat and cried through the whole damn thing. In a way it kind of follows The Taming Of The Shrew by Shakespeare, I read that in high school.

Gunther kept asking me "why am I crying?" I finally said "Don't you get it," I was in a downhill spiral not caring what was going on around me or to me. My self esteem was zero, out of no where you, Vicky, Rokkerr, Walt, Benny, Tony, Bossman and a few others come into my life. You all kept telling me that I was so much more and I could do and be more, seemed the more I tried to push you all away from me the more you loved on me. None of you felt sorry for me, or gave me a pity party, but you stood behind me and never stopped believing in me and that's what I needed. Now I look at what's happened and I wonder when I'm going to wake up, I've never been this happy in my life.

That movie made me really think about so much and the changes, all for the better. Now he's never taken me in a private jet for a romantic dinner, but I woke up with him in the Banff Springs Hotel, and that's one sexy place, ask Shanda or Mike and Connie. I have to stop now, cause my keyboard is wet, cause my face is leaking badly.

I love you all, through all the insanity and craziness your all so special

We stood behind you Julie, because, even tho you couldn't see the good in you, we could. You needed a boost, you needed a push, and we felt we could give it to you. Its like a speed bump, Julie. If you're going too slow, you might have trouble getting over it. But, if some friends give you a little push, you make it over the bump and pick up speed moving forward.

I don't know your religious bent, and don't mean to get all religious here. But there's a saying that might explain it a bit. When you were having a little trouble, we stepped in and carried you a short way, until you could walk on your own again. That's what friends do. And, now, here you are.

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky. In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand. Sometimes there were two sets of footprints, other times there was only one set.

This bothered me, because I noticed that during the low periods of my life, when I was suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat, I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord, "You promised me, Lord, that if I believed in you, you would walk with me always. But I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life, there is only one set of footprints in the sand. Why, when I needed you most, were you not there for me?"

The Lord replied, "The times where you see only one set of footprints are when I carried you."

I love that movie, watched it several times..... yes it's a tear jerker for sure... I can easily relate that movie to you and Gunther. He saw the goodness and the possibilities in you so he snatched you up.
Image He is your Richard Gere

Anyone watching Mr.Robot? Got hooked on that one recently! It's killing me! I mean to watch one episode at 11 when I go to bed, but end up watching 3 and being so tired the next day!

Netflix has a show released by BBC called Black Mirror that will seriously make you question the implications of the rapid advancement of technology in our 21st century culture. There are only seven episodes out, each episode is a standalone story with a heavy focus on science fiction, plausibly set in the near future. The stories are shocking, twisted and never pull any punches. At times it can be straight up distressing, consider that fair warning. The writing is superb, they have some big name British actors (and even Jon Hamm in the last Christmas episode) and honestly I consider it some of the best, most cerebral television I've ever seen. If you're into that kind of thing, I highly recommend it.

Fringe was excellent...I even bought the series on DVD. Now...I would expect a good Norwegian gal like Vicky would have watched Lilyhammer. If you haven't seen it...give it a try.

I'd recommend Banshee if it's on there.
Absolutely ridiculous idea of a story line but it is so so watchable! Gratuitous sex and violence and a lot of the cast are pretty easy on the eye too.

just watched the first episode of Stranger Things on netflix and it was good. I would have kept watching but had to get some sleep before getting up for work. It does have me looking forward to seeing the rest of it.

Netflix also just put up the first 3 seasons of Penny Dreadful. I caught season one and it was very good. looking forward to 2 and 3

Keith and I are watching OITNB right now. Loved "Transparent" and "Catastrophe" (both on Amazon). Especially Catastrophe (don't let the name fool you, it's a Brit comedy), it's hilarious! Also enjoyed "Man In The High Castle" and "Grace and Frankie".
