I will admit that the Biden administration is actually pushing back against Abbott and declaring that he overstepped his authority. Sounds like someone from Florida should step up and get the ball rolling there, as well.
I have the solution. Someone should sue those 2 governors for conducting biological warfare on US citizens. After all, if a person were running around spreading biohazardous material from a spray gun, they would be arrested. Why is it any different if the "spray gun" is their body?

Too late, Mike. I heard that the Canadian Border Crossing personnel are going on strike.

What is it they say? Shelter in place? :rotffl:

No offense at all, Rokkerr. But I'm so sick of all this. I no longer find anything to joke about. If these "people" had stood up in the beginning, wore masks and got the shot, we wouldn't be where we are now. If this had gone away, I would most likely be in Florida this October. Now? It's just not time to travel.

It certainly has Rokkerr, for many reasons. Similarly I have to admit my ability to take jokes or humour about it have also been hit hard - just the attitudes I have to put up with from people I serve in retail makes the days long and exhausting! Grateful that now we are on a bank holiday weekend here in England and I get a couple of free days away from that place! I will be pretty much holed up alone at home the rest of the weekend now!

Well, I certainly do not mean or want to stifle conversation. It certainly has been hard on everyone, regardless. I have no doubt that we'll get beyond this. I just wish we could get more cooperation to beat it quicker and save more lives.

I understand that there are people who medically are advised not to get the vaccine. I get that but if the people who have been misinformed would get the vaccine, how that would change things. I understand the people who medically and mentally have a problems with the mask. If the the people who can not get the vaccine would wear a mask and keep the social distant. The people who can not wear mask, would get the vaccine and keep the social distant we might get some where. There has to be a way to work so that we can beat this. People who have no medical reason why they cannot get the vaccine and refuse to get it are just wrong. Now people who have not gotten the vaccine are getting covid and rushing to the hospital, why? Why wait to get covid to ask for help when the science gave you some help to fight it?

Quebec is introducing a vaccine passport, starting tomorrow. This is needed for admission to any non-essential services (restaurants, cinemas, etc.). Out of province visitors have to show proof of vaccination from the place they live.

In Australia, it is all about, getting vaccinated and once it hits 80% fully vaccinated, the c'wealth govt. on health advice and models done, advise borders between states open up with states with small cases or zero and the 2 largest states, New South Wales and Victoria having high cases and in lockdown, for the past several weeks. It means, that we have to live with the virus, being vaccinated to mean minimal chance of hospitalisation if you get it. Even the lock downs in the big populated cities of Melbourne and Sydney have not stopped the surge in cases, with this new delta variant.
Also, it will mean, as Lance said, about Quebec, that it will be a case of having proof of being fully vaccinated if you want to go events like concerts, sport and going to restaurants etc.
Anyway, I'm happy that I had my 2nd dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine, last Thursday and now fully vaccinated.

My grandson (age 5) just tested positive. My daughter and her family were due to fly to Australia a week today.

Oh yes. The kids are too young to be vaccinated (5 and under 1); the parents are both double vaccinated. But everyone has been retested. So far so good.
