Thanks, Benny. I know I can be an ass, but I like to think there's still a little 'nice' buried down in there somewhere.
Like old Sammy used to say, "I've gotta be me," - whatever that is.

Don't know if any of you have ever seen these pictures, but this guy is great. You may find it hard to bellieve, but these pictures are Sidewalk art - Chalk on the sidewalk, if you will (but so much more than "chalk on the sidewalk.") There are some damn talented people out there. Go to YouTube to watch these full screen. Search Julian Beever.

I've been wondering where Trio disappeared to, then got an update from them tonite. They're back in Oregon. Their letter tells it all. I updated them on the happenings here and they asked me to post their letter to you all.
Hi all VNA,
Happy St. Pats Day from Oregon ! Sue and I are in a small town library in order to get to e-mail. Jeb is sailing in the Mediterranean headed to Dubrovnik , Croatia to get flights back to USA . Some gangster gang from Russia , China or elsewhere attempted to steal his identity. The first hint was someone trying to buy a laptop at a Wal-Mart in Chicago area while he was over 5,000 miles away sailing in the Med! All his credit cards etc. were automatically canceled and thus we lost VNA upon billing. He should be back soon to fix this mess.
Meanwhile, Sue and I are back to the wilderness of SE Oregon staying with our friend and take care of her horses. We told some of you before about her and the beautiful farm and homes her passed away husband built. Great, but a bit like pioneers with NO Internet, cell phones etc. Once or twice per month we all drive over an hour to get food staples that are not grown or raised on the farm. Sue and I head to the very small library to check e-mails. All porn is blocked and the librarian in large spectacles, sort of like being in an old movie, watches our every move! LOL. Sue wants to dress in very revealing sexy outfits next time, but I say try to look conservative and fit in. Library is closing so must go!
Next update soon,
Laura for Sue and Jeb

Oh, they need to send us a picture from their cell phones.
Have friends like that... it was fight for Peter just to put running water in! How well I know what they are experiencing
Walt, email them and remind them before they close out of the computer to ensure the go to Tools, Internet Options, Delete Browsing History... as it will keep a record of their travels ...
Since it is a public computer there are some more hints on password as well that I will pass along (as soon as I remember what they were)

Hi, all. Been in Alamogordo working for my nephew all week. Glad to be home, but tired. That may be my last one. It's just getting a little too difficult to go out for more than a day or two.
I read somewhere that the new Cam system isn't up yet. Anyone know?

Well, sometimes, it pays to fight. You all remember my accident back in early March. I got a ticket for "Failure to Control Speed and Causing an Accident." Fine would be $300 + $100 court costs.
I really didn't think I was guilty of that offense, altho I could see where they might be able to say that I was. I read the statute and decided to plead not guilty and state my case.
I was brought up to be honest (so, how's that working out for you, OldGuy? ) If I am wrong, I was taught to stand up, admit my guilt and take my punishment, which I have always done (and I've never paid a lawyer $1000 to stand up there and get me the same deal.) But, if you really feel you don't think you ARE guilty, you should certainly stand up and state your case.
So, anyway, the judge asks how I plead, I said, "Well, sir, I've read the statute, and I really feel I should plead Not Guilty." He, of course, said, "That's fine," and something else. Then the prosecutor said, "I move to dismiss the case, your honor. The officer isn't here to testify."
"Case Dismissed."
Just that simple. Lucked out and saved myself $400. I had just thought of pleading guilty, because there was an accident involved, and I could see where you could make a case that I "Failed to control speed." So, if I had pled guilty, I would now be $400 poorer.
On that note, I think it's time for a beer. Yay, Me!!

that's great to hear! Too often it is the exception... In many places there may be a Police Advocate (that is one who is on the force but simply compiling all the charges for that day) who simply reads the details of a case, wasn't there and has no insight into the specifics but yet is considered the expert!
Reality check:
1. Legally, you are presumed guilty.
2. You are also assumed to be lying. (A traffic hearing isn't really about uncovering the truth - it's about your money.)
3. You cannot count on sympathy of the judge or the police officer.

That's all true. Thats why I was so surprised. I've heard of it happeneing before, but it has never happened to me. But, if you plead Not Guilty, they have to have the witness there. And, if he doesn't show, there's no case.
If he is there, the judge will listen to him and discount anything you say. Like you say, once the officer opens his mouth, he is 100% correct and you're a bald-face liar.

This is a great link and great organization
http://www.motorists.org/ to visit when it comes to trraffic. I have in the past used a number of applicable pieces of information to win at the Magistrate and/or Judge Level & that would be with the Cop ('er Police Office showing up).
Great stuff - have even been cited in a few of the write-ups by Ivan (who is a real fighter for motorist rights).
here is a sublink http://www.motorists.org/ma/cases.html
and although it is specific to a New England State there is alot of applicable information.

Well, I'm happy to report, SARA IS ALIVE AND OH, SO VERY WELL!!!!
Well, if I didn't do silly things, I wouldn't be Walt, would I? After Sara's Thursday C2C, I decided, "That's enough! I'm going!" So I got on line, got a reasonable travel deal, and hit the airways around 2:30 Fri afternoon. Made it to LA in time to get to the club shortly after 8PM. She was scheculed to dance at 8 PM, but hadn't done so yet. The club was nice enough to let her set up a table to take pictures and sell things. She had T-shirts (I didn't know that, but got one,) Mags, DVDs and 8x10s.
The club is nice and the staff was very helpful. Only issue was they wouldn't let me take any pics of Sara. She could take pics of herself with customers, but their suggestion to me was to take polaroids and scan them in. Guess I could have done that, but we all know that polaroid resolution is nothing compared to todays cameras. On the other hand, having a polaroid vs having nothing. I should have taken the pics of her different costumes. She did one set in military garb and one as a stewardess on Fri, then some 'exotic' stuff on Sat.
Only thing I didn't like about the club was the stage lighting - in fact, the general lighting throughout. It wasn't bad, but wasn't anything spectacular, either. My worst complaint was the lousy, dark stage lighting. From where I was (25' away?) it was pretty much impossible to see the girl and what she was doing beyond shadowy movement. They had 4 small spinning lights over the stage, but they would only occasionally spin to show a little light on the dancer. Sara's friend Shawn (Sean? Don't know) was allowed to take video of her 4 sets (2 Fri, 2 Sat) so hopefully she will post some on her site.
Sara's performances were fantastic. Think of her C2C shows greatly expanded. That girl has some moves that would make a dead man cum, including one where she would bend over backwards at the pole, so that, upside down, her breasts were wrapped around the pole. Then she would slide up and down in that position. Can you say "40 customers cuming?"
I think she made her money on the private dances in the VIP room. I'm not sure what she was charging, but the DJ kept anouncing 3 dances for $40 and occasionally short specials of 4/$40. Don't know if those prices were for the resident dancers or Sara, too. But, a good deal either way.
We didn't get to go out to eat. After the shows, it was 2 AM and we were all tired. I could have called Sat afternoon. I knew she'd be sleeping in, tho, and I was trying to nap, too, as I knew it would be a long time before I saw sleep again. But we had great fun at the club. They have a great menu and a separate restaurant as well.
The crowds were smaller than I would have expected, but Sara was happy, and the other dancers told her Friday that the nite's crowd was bigger than usual. I would guess a maximum of 40 - 50 on Fri nite, and maybe 70 on Sat nite (maybe 50% capacity?) Sara was happy. Said she made some good money, so that's what counts. I saw one guy just throw a handful of bills on stage, maybe 10 or so. You couldn't 'touch' the girls, so the only way to tip them was to throw your money on stage. That seemed a little degrading to me, to watch the girls wandering around the stage to pick up their tips. But, on the other hand, you know Sara. To watch her crawl around on all fours picking up her winnings more than made up for it.
I don't know if any of her members came out, but I didn't see or meet any VNA members. I was a little disappointed in that, but, of course, LA is big and a lot of things are always going on there. Benny would have come out, but he didn't get my message in time.
Over all? A great show. Not as "rowdy" as the show in Wichita where I mety Vicky, but still a great show and a good turnout. Sara is a great dancer and show woman and I'm sure glad I went. The club just reopening after remodeling may have had something to do with it as well. After you've been closed awhile, I'm sure it takes a little time to build your clientelle back up. Booking top stars like Sara Jay will certainly help that.
Thank you for a great time, Sara. It's always the best to hang out with you for a bit.

So that was the secret mission! You old sneaking out to LA....
Would seem to me thinking out Loud that VNA MEmbership Cards s/b in the works so the "women of the VNA" on tour can intercede with clubs or specials whereever they are when a paid member is on the deck. Of course, that does have it's configuration issues. Realizing it's a business and also realizing that all participants are not necessarily like Rockerr & Vette as well in terms of being very embracing.
Good report though you old coot and it is so reminiscent of soooo many dancing establishments... $40.00 for 3 dances! Wow, Terri Welles charges $1000.00 per last I knew. Are you telling us you didn't partake and at least get a lap dance

I guess I felt I was being a hero or something by 'watching over her table.' It's not like her world would come crashing down if I walked away. And Shawn was there, too. Sometimes my old brain just doesn't seem to go in the right direction. You're right, I missed a great opportunity.
Membership cards is a somewhat good idea, but what about the thousands that only join for 1 month? My thought is that something like that should be restricted to currently paid members. And that seems too hard to manage. Maybe you could get one with an expiration date. But even that would be hard to work. If there is a show while you are a member, you could ask for a card. Templates could be made up and a card sent out when someone asks. I would even help with something like that if Vicky wanted.
I know they let me in (Rokkerr greased the skids with the club for me. Thank you for that, Dave.) And the club provided our drinks. Possibly the meals, too, I don't know. I had eaten before I got there so wasn't hungry, but both Sara and Shawn ate both nites.
Another option might be, when one of the VNA ladies is appearing and a deal can be worked with the establishment (1/2 off cover charge, 1st drink free?) then provide an online card with specific dates and locations. For example, a card this last weekend. It would have my name in it, the name of the venue (SCORE GENTLEMENS CLUB) and specific dates (Good for 1/2 off Cover Charge, 1st drink at SCORE Gentlemens Club, June 4th and 5th, 2010 only.) The card would be relinquished with that first drink. Then, at the end of the night, the cards could be returned to the performer for her tabulation purposes. (And, if you're getting a free drink, you still tip the waitress, guys.)

The club is so happy with Sara they asked her to come back. They said she can call it her "home club" if she wants to!
Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.

Since they just reopened from a remodel, I imagine it will take a short period to rebuild their clientelle. After that, Sara should knock the walls down. By September, it should be rocking.
