Here is Ray along John Densmore at the Boston Tea Party (1970) playing an instrumental "Light My Fire" :D :icon_wink:

I don't know who the lead guitarist is (from the 5:10 minute mark to the end of the song) ... though I know that he wasn't Robby Krieger.

Today I went to the funeral for one of my bests friends mom Lucy. She was so full of life, then less then a month ago she was diagnosed with cancer. The Dr told her to make sure everything was in order as she only had a short time. I used to go to their farm for as long as I can remember, to visit Eric and she would always treat me like one of the family. When I went there when I was a teen, she would say to me, "I'm watching you too, and if I think your up to something, you young lady will be sent home and I'll talk to your mother!" That's all she had to say to keep me in line.

The last time I saw her, I went to the hospital to visit and she was sleeping. I turned to leave and knocked the water jug off the table and woke her up. She really didn't know who I was but asked what time it was. I told her 2, and she says. "How do you expect me to get any work done around this farm when I sleep the day away." I had to laugh, cause that's just her, always busy. Gonna miss her lots :crying:

Sorry to hear that, Julie. Losing a part of our childhood is losing a lot. but having those memories is what makes our lives so wonderful - remembering the people who made us who we are. The ones who shaped our lives, those are the ones we remember the fondest.

I'm sorry Julie for your loss. Like Walter and Ws said, thinking and talking about the people in your life who have passed, keeps them alive in two important places, in your mind and in your heart.

September 2 my niece that lives in Vancouver went into the hospital for minor surgery on her foot. She had a blood clot that no one knew about and she passed away. I don't understand how someone getting surgery can die like that. Gunther explained it to me, but I still don't really get it. I flew to Vancouver that night and was going to stay at my brother's & sister-in-laws place. It was so sad, yet my family had to fight with each other, so I took a cab to a hotel. Debra was 30 and so full of life, she was a teacher and spent 2 years teaching under privileged kids in Africa. She leaves behind her husband and her 2 little kids, like I say I'll never understand it at all

I'm so very sorry, Julie. I hurt inside for you. I know how much you love your nieces and family and how badly this must affect you. So very sorry your family has to pick this as something to fight over, too. Families can be very difficult sometimes..

No one ever understands why someone has to leave us so young. At least, at my age, people can say, "he lived a long, full and happy life and loved every minute of it." Please remember the good times, laugh at the memories, keep a picture of her always close to you, and keep her memory strong in your heart.

I'm sorry. :(

Last weekend I went home and on Saturday I went to see my aunt Connie. We had tea and cookies and shared so many laughs. Her and uncle Mike still live on their farm and it was nice to be there. Sunday I was getting ready to go home and I got a call my aunt Connie had a heart attack and passed away. I felt so sick cause how heathy she seemed to be. You just never know eh! The funeral was yesterday and it was so sad.

She used to raise game hens and one year she wins a first prize at a fair for her rooster. Now this little bastard hated me and no one knew why. Whenever I went in the coop it would peck at my legs. If I wasn't paying attention it would get me good. One day I'm helping feed them and I would hold this old pie pan to keep from getting pecked. I didn't see it sneak up from behind me and he got me good. I didn't think and swung the pan and killed it.

I went and told her what I did and said how sorry I was, but in my mind I'm thinking, serves it right! So we ate that bird and a few more that night. Sure tasted good, I gotta tell you

I'll miss her lots and having tea and cookies, but mostly her smile and laughter

I'm so sorry, Julie. That's the tough part. We just never know. At 71, I think of that a lot more. I try to eat better, but don't get enough exercise. The doctors say I'm healthy enough, but still, you just never know.

I'm sorry, Julie. Prayers sent for you and your family.

I'm so sorry for your loss Julie. As both you and Walt have said we never know. With that said I guess we should make sure that the people we love know it. I tell my boy's that every time I see them or talk to them. I don't know if this will help or not but I was told once that time heals all wounds. Well it's true but sometimes you think that wound will never, but eventualy it does. Remember the good times don't worry about the bad times.

My deepest sympathies are with you Julie, as I have lost a lot of people and been to to many funerals myself over the past 12 months. So my heart goes out to you. Keep your chin up and remember the good times and smile.

We had a girl pass away Thursday night, she was just 15, so damn young. She was on all the teams at school and mostly kept to herself. She was a foster kid and really not treated that good. I would buy her jeans, tops whatever I thought she could use so she would fit in better with the other kids. She would stay over some nights and she told me the first time she stayed there that she was afriad of the dark and her foster parents wouldn't leave the light on for her. I kept her door open and the hall light was left on for her and I also gave her a stuffed bunny to sleep with as her guardian angel. So I gave the funeral home the bunny and a flashlight that I was told would stay on for over a week, so she won't be in the dark. A bunch of us went to her place on Friday and her foster dad wouldn't allow me to be there. He called me a "white whore" and said I was the reason Taylia is gone! That really hurt me I have to tell you. Saturday I wasn't going to go to her spirit raising but the band leader said I was more then welcome, and whose gonna argue with a guy whose name is Jim (Prowling Wolf). He told me today that he's going to give me a native name to go with my free spirit. Social services is sending a counciler here tomorrow for a few days, we've had 4 kids between 14-16 pass away in the last 2 months. It's not right how the people of the north are not given the same respect as others. I know Walt has seen that when he lived in Alaska, its sad really, and I'm determined to change that attitude! With Prowling Wolfs help and knowledge and my don't fuck with me attitude something will happen, or I'll get deported haha!

Gonna miss her lots, I already do, Taylia 1999-2014

:lmao: If you get deported, West Texas welcomes you.

You are right, Julie. I have always tried to love those around me and to realise every damn day how very lucky I am. And all by virtue of my birth. Every time I read about mistreatment of the homeless, about the problems so many people suffer in other parts of the world, I cry a bit. EVERYONE deserves a good home, a job and a loving family. And so many have none of those. How many people still live in shanties with dirt floors?

This morning there is a story about 43 children being abducted in Southern Mexico. Recently a clandestine gravesite was uncovered containing numerous bodies. Authoritied believe that 17 of those bodies are from the group of children. CHILDREN!!!

We can't help everyone directly, but we can help by offering prayers for those less fortunate, realising every damn day how very lucky we are, and how we are God's children. Even if you don't believe in a God, I fervently pray that you at least believe that every person on this planet is equal. Just because we were born into difficult circumstances doesn't mean that we are less of a person than anyone else.

Yes, when I was stationed in the bush in Alaska, the local villagers would sometimes invite us to share their homes and festivities. We would take along food and clothing. And they would be so thankful to receive our castoffs. I never began to approach the good that Julie is doing for others. And, while it's sometimes hard to understand, I still believe in karma, and that many things happen for a reason. A few years back, Julie was at her lowest. And today, there is no doubt in my mind that she is the happiest she's ever been. You have found your calling, Julie. I only wish I could be a small part of the good that you are.

I know I have treated people badly in my life. I only pray that, when it comes my turn to answer the call, that I somehow still measure up.

Remember, a man is not measured by how he treats his friends, but how he treats strangers when no one is looking.
I can resist everything except temptation.
