Thank you, sweetie! That's a very generous offer. I don't think my schedule will allow it, but I thank you sincerely for the invite. Enjoy your time there!

Hi Julia, this is a cool topic. Friend of mine owns a huge wine business here in New England. I asked him about whites for you. Here's the scoop:

Bourgogne Blanc (white burgundy) from house of Vincent, old line French family. Magnifique!
Concannon Glen Ellen Reserve Chardonnay. This is a California white, superb, and inexpensive, because I know your money goes to the dogs.

And why not try a rose? These days they are quite popular. Still in a French mood? Try Cabernet D'Anjou 2008. Ask your wine store for any of these, I'll bet he can get them for you.

Hope this helps. Dennis

Hi Dennis!!

Thanks for checking with your friend, you've given me some excellent suggestions! Maybe I'll have some of my girlfriends over and have our own wine tasting party. I've got to try all of these wonderful wines everyone has been kind enough to recommend. Some wine, some cheese, some fruit, some more wine, more wine, more wine...oh boy, hopefully we'll still have our clothes on before the night is through!

This thread is over two years old, bahaha.

Like I said in another thread, I haven't been 21 for all that long but I LOOVE wine! I'm such a wino. I literally get lost in the liquor store. I live in a small town so that store isn't even that big.

You said you don't really go for red wines but one I really like is Hazlitt's Red Cat. It's a NY wine. I drank that whole bottle down in an hour. XD They also have one called White Cat, which I've never tried. I've always gone for reds but haven't honestly tried many white wines yet. But I got time. I'm still relatively young. XD

There's literally only a day or so a week where I can drink, because of work so I can't drink as much as I'd like. Hehe. >:)

I will drink a white wine before a red one lately. I am not sure why but I seem to enjoy the white ones a better! No matter which one you drink wine should be drunk from a glass!! :flower:
I have found Barefoot Wines Pink Moscato to be very good! I think I am going to try the white Barefoot Wines next.

The Barefoot Wines White Moscato is very good but around here I have only found it in a large bottle and yes I did buy it. The Pink Moscato is good also. I have been able to find it in a small bottle (750 ml) and that is the size I would love to find the the white in.

Red wine with chocolate in it does not sound good. :please:

Try to find a place where they either r offering samples every once in awhile or very small bottles! :yeahbaby: There is a liquor store here that every now and then they will have someone offering samples of new stuff like flavored liquor and wines.

Yeah. It wasn't that great. I tried chocolate rum too and that was gross!
And my wine store doesn't, unfortunately. Dx I'll have to stick with my Red Cat for now. Haha.

Rum is good by itself or in a mixed drink. I find the light rum is better than the dark rum. :clap

U really just have to try different kinds to find what u like. Most liquor stores have mini bottles of some of the stuff and that's the best way to try new ones. Then u don't have a whole bottle to try to figure out what to do with it.

I like red wine. I hear that a glass of red wine a day will extend your life by a week.

So far, it looks like I'll live to be 147.

Thank you, ladies. It's nice to know my sincere and stoic modesty is appreciated, :lmao:

There are 2 or 3 pistachio tree farms up the road in Alamogordo. I usually stop when I go that way and get a bag of Red Chili Pistachios and maybe Green Chili and Garlic flavor.

Maybe a year ago they started selling Pistachio wine. I haven't tried any yet. It just sounds terrible. But, maybe, in light of Julia's wine topic, maybe I should just bite the bullet and be a guinea pig.

Crap! The things I do for this damn VNA, :help: :rotffl: :whome:
