So sorry to hear about Benny. Strokes are so tragic, striking even the strongest even in the worst way. I really wish him the best. Recovery can be a very long almost impossible road. But he has the love of Christine and what seems to be am amazing and supportive family, including us at the VNA. I have faith that Benny will recover and be back to his usual jovial self. Benny, know that we all miss and care about you.

Here's the story if you want to tell Vicky & the gang.
I had a stroke on February 22nd. I lost all my feeling in my left hand and foot. My right carotid artery was 90% full of plaque and they had to remove that (you should see the long scar down my neck) anyway, I survived. I am presently going through therapy to learn to walk again. I use a walker but they say I'm advancing pretty strong and will probably be using a cane soon. These last couple of weeks I've had terrible pressure in my head which has caused me painful feelings in my head. They say it might go away eventually but who knows (they've got me under all kinds of meds for all kinds of reasons) I'm not out of the woods yet as they discovered my left carotid artery is 80% full of plaque and they are going to operate again April 23rd.
I'm sorry but I'm getting tired (I wrote this whole note with my right index finger).

Goodness Gracious, I have never had words with Benny or crossed his path as I am only new to the forum. However I have seen his posts and looked on him as a mentor in the VNA as I do with Vicky and Walt etc.

I am so sorry to here and read of Benny's stroke problem. It brings emotions back to me about my dad, but that anther story.

I wish Benny all the best and may God be with him is wife and family at this time.

Vicky/Walt - Please send him my Best Wishes for a speedy recovery as I was fortunate enough to meet Benny & Christine at AdultCon 2011 in L.A. I always enjoyed chatting to him during many CamShows also. We are all indebted to Benny for the fantastic work he did here in the VNA

First of all, I'd like to thank all of you who wished me well and kept me in your thoughts and prayers. I cannot thank you all enough. I've always said that the VNA girls and members were the most considerate and thoughtful people in the world and all of you have just reaffirmed that. You guys are the greatest!
As for me, I spent 4 weeks using a walker and graduated to using a cane. I have been off the cane for 3 weeks now and am walking on my own power. I still have a limp which I'm afraid I'll always have but I am continuing to do my therapeutic exercises to keep my legs and arms strong. I have been driving my car now for the past 2 weeks and am pretty much independent at this time.
Although I now have feeling in my left hand, it doesn't want to fully cooperate with what I want it to do. I am re-learning how to write but I still have a problem holding a fork and playing the guitar. Luckily. I mostly use the right hand mouse when I use photoshop. I am grateful for that.
Christine has been a godsend through my whole rehab and recuperation. I couldn't have made it without her there to support me. Despite all that has happened to me, I'm sill a lucky guy.
Thanks to Vicky, Rokker and Walt for letting everyone know about my misfortune. It's a bitch but I'm thankful that at least I'm still alive. I've learned to never take my loved ones and life for granted because you never know when you abruptly might have to leave this life behind. Thank you all again.

It was great to see you post your SaraJay pic yesterday Benny. The moment I saw it I knew that you were well on your way to recovery. I'm really glad that you posted today and let us know how you are doing.

Keep picking away on the guitar and doing your amazing photoshop work...the more you do the more you will be able to do. Pretty soon you'll be doing laps around the rest of us.

Hey Benny! It's absolutely great to hear you speak of the progress you've made the last few months. While i've never met you in person, i've known OF you every since i joined the VNA back in 2009 or 2010 and i've seen a lot of your fantastic work. You've always said "Hi" to me in the camshow chat and even a big-mouth like myself couldn't get in any more words to you...because SO many people loved you and flooded you with Greetings! Continue your therapy and keep working hard Benny! Each little thing you re-learn to do, whether it's grabbing a piece of popcorn or reacquiring your driver's license is a Victory that you must take pride in! The Victory, the Success, that's what counts. So just "Keep On, Keepin' On" Benny! You are in our thoughts and prayers.

I'm glad to hear your doing so well Benny, I hope you continue to do as well.

"What they said," Benny. Such very good news, I know we all are glad to hear all of the great news. I never had doubts that lovely Christine would be your biggest supporter and strength. Sometimes life throws us curves. You, with your can-do attitude and strong values, have stepped up, handled it and started forward. Should life throw a curve ball at me, I can only hope I can do half as good.
