I went to my GP today for something else and they told us they just got the antibody tests in yesterday. The tests are $50 and you get results immediately. Dave and I both did one and wouldn't you know it? We were both positive. So we did have it when we got home from Europe. Good thing we did the right thing and quarantined for 14 days. We felt like ass for a few days but we thought we were just exhausted from 2 days of traveling to get home in a panic and no sleep. Neither of us ever had a fever.

Clarification...

Technically we both tested NOT postive for the Corona Virus but positive for the antibody which means we were exposed to it at some point.

I am still not convinced because
1. I have head a lot of information about unreliable antibody tests.
2. I would have bet the house I didn't ever have exposure. At no time did I ever have a cough or a fever - the two classic symptoms
3. I researched the test that my doctor gave us... it came from China of all places... :help:

I find it hard to believe that we were not exposed, we were on planes going to London, then train to Paris, then plane to Dublin, then plane to London then plane back to Tampa. Add in a million ubers, a million meals in crowded restaurants, crowded plazas, the Louvre Museum, shopping centers, attractions, including a Madonna concert with about 4,000 Italians that was extremely overcrowded. It would be a miracle if we had not contracted it we were there in the height of it. Just because you weren't as sick as others means you're strong and healthy and your body killed it before you had severe symptoms.

You may be safe from the strippers, but would they be safe from you?

heard some many things about the antibodies like they aren't sure how long they would last or you might could catch it again or catch it. Good thing y'all quarantined and stuff. Well Rokker I do recall they were thinking of having a paper that you would carry and say that you were able to be out and not have to follow the covid-19 rules.

You're both right. You could have it with virtually no symptoms, but a lot of the antibody tests are in fact garbage because the FDA initially waived review on them. They are trying to rein the bad ones in now.

Our Dr. Felt very good about the tests she did. She said they were 98 or 99% accurate.

It tests for active infection and antibodies at the same time.

supposed to go to the doctor June 1st for checkup that has been postponed 3 times(June 1st being the 3rd time) so will see if it's not postponed yet or not, me and mom may end up getting tested because the head doctor of where we go is on the Memphis and Shelby County Covid 19 task force, that's if the appointment doesn't get postponed again.

Yeah I really think it's nuts, because most people don't have symptoms.

When everything opens up and you really do want to travel, they say Iceland is going to be the absolute best place to go. Why? Because every single person in the country has been tested! It's easy they only have about 330000 people in the entire country LOL.

But will Iceland want the whole world to come visiting?

Well I'm sure they want the money, tourism is probably 70% of their GDP... But I'm sure they will test every person coming in.

They only had like one day a while back for testing if you wanted it without having to have the symptoms but it was like at one place and figured it be wall to wall so didn't bother.

The only problem I see with testing is that it only means that you don't have the virus now. It doesn't mean you can't catch it tomorrow. That's still a good thing. If you had symptoms that made you go get tested, it's nice to know, and might make you be more cautious in the future. And what if you DO have it? The sooner you start treatment, the better chance you have.
