Well, one man's opinion, lol.
Went to the Friday show and was pretty disappointed. Not because of the show itself, but because of where it was. The show was just fine, as far as the models were concerned. A lot of young, apparently rather new to the business, and numerous well-known models. Also a lot of large corporations hosting models - sites like PornHub, AdultTime, Brazzers and several others.
The problems were, yes, partly just my issues. But even that was brought on by the massive crowds. Friday, early (I went in about 6.) the crowds were bad enough. But as time went on and people started getting off work, the crowds got pretty massive. The problem is the venue, the Hollywood Palladium, is only about 1/2 the size it should have been for a Porn convention. I mean, XBiz didn't have a clue how many folks would +attend. It's a PORN convention, fer crissakes, lol.
I mean, the main floor, where the most well known models were, was totally jammed. So many models and blocked off areas (for the large folks like Brazzers) that the aisleways were super slim. Then people stop to see their favorite model, so that jams up that small aisle so that no one can get through. So you just stand there waiting for someone to move.
My big problem, of course, is my knees. They wear out pretty quickly. So I need to sit down for a bit. With a larger venue, there is plenty of room. But not here. There were 2 more flights up to 'walkways" that surrounded the main floor. That is where the lesser-known models (new to the industry, for example) were. There were unused tables up there and there were 6 or 8 bars around the building, lol. Early on, I got a double-shot of Fireball Cinnamon whiskey, $14 a shot. So I saved money and got a double for $20, lol. But sitting up there, you aren't down with the models. You're like up in the attic.
But I did get to see Sara (might go to dinner with us tonight) and Lauren Phillips. If any of you know Willie, he is Sara's 'bodyguard,' lol. (Yeah, you knew I'd say it. "I'd love to guard that body,' lol.)
