Since we are on the subject of reviews I thought I would share an email i got from a reviewer recently. Vicky and I talked about it and we disagree with his points. By the way, all the pictures are now being done in a lot higher resolution. Some vids are not quite up to his statement but that is only when we get stuff from other girls or sites and put it out there for you. Agree or disagree? If you want something changed let us know. Walter I think the picture of the train is fucking hilarious. Anyway here are the suggestions of someone who took a look at the site, the only comment that bothers me is the comment about content. Vicky kicks ass on killer content so that one was I think flat out wrong...... anyway here you go:

"Here are my thoughts for Vicky.

First off, I would recommend requesting an official review if she wants more feedback. The site certainly qualifies and that would give her a more in depth look from all four reviewers. If she wants a little more info to improve the site before an official review is written, I'll try to expand on my Cons.

Videos in one format only - Vids only play as wmvs with no option of other formats, quality settings, or clips/full-length scenes. I know these are rare on amateur sites but they're still good to have.

Average quality content - Vids max out at 800k and are awfully pixilated. 1000k is really becoming more the norm. These just don't look very sharp. The photos looked better, but many images were too small at 800x532. 800x600 is really the minimum we should be seeing and I much prefer her larger 1240x768 sets.

Design needs work - The main member's menu is a bit cluttered. There are too many links in too small of a space. I'd start by separating the non-Vicky content from the Vicky stuff. A more advanced look than just text and tables would also help give the site a cleaner look."

Vicky tries to work on off the wall killer content and I think this stuff is nitpicking..... what do you think?

Very well put Walter. Take a bow!!

Anyway your point here is:
WalterB wrote:... Reviewers are just people that spout their own personal opinions. I don't know how many movies I have gone to where the reviewers rated it bad or good and I found it just the opposite. I never could figure why people jump up and say "OOh, honey, we gotta go see this"....
Here's the real reason - A Nick Lowe song to ponder about why people say to do it (see this "great" film) and feel something else totally different later (Boy, this movie sucks big time, but let's tell everyone to go see it as it's such a "great" film. Let them go waste their money too. )

"Cruel to Be Kind" By Nick Lowe

Chorus:

You've gotta be
Cruel to be kind in the right measure,

Cruel to be kind it's a very good sign,
Cruel to be kind means that I love you,
Baby, you've gotta be cruel to be kind.

Talk more soon.

Dave, you're not supposed to be revealing who is driving the train. We've had John on a string now for a couple of months. Ok, the cat's out of the bag.

First off, Vicky's had quite a few official reviews. Some were good and some not so good but overall the good points outweigh the bad ones.

As far as video format, I'd bet that 99% of video aficionados use WMV. What's the point of offering other formats?

Killer content. Almost weekly camshow and impromptu on-site video updates. The only objection I have are the old photo galleries. I know those were done way back when and would be too much of a hassle or impossible to resize or improve their resolution.

I like the member's panel. Everything is right there. There's no need to open or re-direct oneself to another page to find a specific item.

Lots of these reviewers are looking for glitz or flash in homepages. Vicky gets right to the point. I don't want to wait a minute or two for the flash to load. I want my MTV (Most Tantalizing Vids).

I've probably said it a million times but Vicky is an all hands-on webmaster. She corresponds with her members via the website messageboard, private e-mails, her Yahoo group and even sometimes by phone. I can't believe that there are many other performers who keep their members interests at heart like she does.

Hmmmmm.............do I love her or what?

Rokkerr, I hope you didn't misunderstand my comment on the train pic. I like it a lot, think it is great.
rokkerr wrote:Average quality content
As stated he was talking of Video quality, not content quality, but I have had no problems whatsoever with video quality. Image size? He's nit-picking between 888x532 and 800x600? I like larger pictures, too (the 1240x768 he mentions) but the 800xwhatever are fine. It sounds like this guy has his screen resolution set up to 1280x1024 (the highest my screen will go.) He needs to maybe back off a little.

"Design needs work" - I agree with Benny - I think it's just fine. One of my gripes (probably as an old guy) is "Bells and Whistles." Many people are attracted by cute little flashing lites and sounds. But, do they really add anything? In many cases, at least to me, they are distracting. On Vicky's page, I mouse over a selection, it enlarges, I click on it and it takes me to my selection. What else do I want?

Bennys comment about reviewers ties back to Vicky's 'opinions are like assholes...,' and to my '...people who spout their own personal opinions.' It's like when someone says "This painting is worth $73 million." I say, "to who? Not to me. I'll give you $200 for it." (I know, I got's no taste or class.)

And, my final comment...
benny wrote:...Vicky is an all hands-on webmaster
DAMN, Benny, You just made me shudder all over. Yes, that is what draws us to her, she is a part of 'us,' she is here with us every day. What a great woman and a great friend. But, Vicky "hands-on" with me? S-S-S-H-H-H-U-U-U-U-U-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-E-E-E-E-R-R-R I mean, if I were to die right now, it would take the coroner three weeks just to get this satisfied smile off my face.

Oh, and I missed the train driver secret. I went back and enlarged it, but still don't recognise him. A pic of Rokkerr w/o his face hair? Looks a bit, to me, like Don Henley, but don't think it is him. Hints???

About the English train station and Vicky holding up the "Tunnel of Love" sign - I love it and I think it is very ingenious, both hilarious and funny and it needs to stay where it is...

I do agree with Anthony and Vicky on the reviewer topic. Well, as you all know how I feel about reviewers in general and like this one I'll be harsh on him too -- about that last reviewer see my April 18, 2007 posting in Vicky's Press Releases entitiled "latest review" authored by our most lovely one .... Vicky herself!!! :D
John_fromNY wrote: Who is Mephistopheles? One of the Lucifer's henchmen? Spawn of Hell... Is this guy a Todd McFarland fan? As he's the author of Spawn. Talk about "Sympathy for the Devil" -- A big smile!!!!

Walter - that's a real good guess - however when Benny said an Englishman only - I had to cut him out.

.....Hehe!! Yes Dave. Benny had me going about it pretty well, as I had said: "Mr. Slowhand" Eric Clapton, "Lonesome" Dave Peverett of Foghat, Mick Abrahams of Jethro Tull, Mark Knoffler of Dire Straits, Joe Strummer and Mick Jones of The Clash, and lastly Sheffield's own, Joe Cocker!!!

-- so you're in very good "company."

Translation: "Do as we say and we will pimp your site better than you ever could do yourself...because we can do it better than you can."

Yeah, right...as if Vicky needs anyone to tell her how to run her site. More likely, they want to use her as another cash cow to milk for their profits.
Videos in one format only - Vids only play as wmvs with no option of other formats, quality settings, or clips/full-length scenes. I know these are rare on amateur sites but they're still good to have.
So....are you going to foot the bill for adding more formats and all the fancy Flash videos and other bells and whistles?? Some people really do want to get to the good stuff without all the thunder and blazes, you know.

Not to say that offering alternative formats (like Quicktime or FLV) wouldn't be nice for those who don't like WMV..but let Vicky be the judge of that, since she's paying the bill.
Ahhh....hate to burst your bubble, Clone, but high end videocameras and camcorders aren't exactly grown on trees down the street. And I'm guessing that most porn viewers who foot the $24.95 monthly membership fee won't be particularly finicky about whether the pixellation maxes out at 800k or 1500k..as long as they get to ogle at Vicky's boobs and Rokk-mann's schlong, it's probably fine with them. Unless, of course, you are into thieving her vids and pics for other sites, of course....
Design needs work - The main member's menu is a bit cluttered. There are too many links in too small of a space. I'd start by separating the non-Vicky content from the Vicky stuff. A more advanced look than just text and tables would also help give the site a cleaner look."
"More advanced"??? Heck, when I move my mouse over the textlinks, they tend to blow up to almost double their size....pretty easy to maneuver for me. I wonder what our dear reviewer would say about this site, layout:

Shauna O'Brien's "Women of the Web" Website

Like Vicky, Shauna didn't believe in putting bells and whistles between her fans and her site, either. Is her text not advanced enough for you??

Two guesses: (1) that that particular reviewer is male; and (2) his interest in Vicky's site is probably a bit more than he's letting on.

Don't change a thing, Vicky...unless YOU want to. Your site is blowing up because of YOU, not because of some jackass reviewers. It's your members that pay your bills; their reviews should count most.

Great response Anthony.
Shauna O'Brien's website is simple and clean. What more could you want?

And John, if Vicky had her hands on me I'd be stuttering, shuddering and probably a few more unmentionable things too.

Oh John, off the topic but I've been wondering this for a long time and can't seem to find the answer. I know that if anyone knew the answer it would be our musical historian (You).
On the Genesis song "Misunderstanding", does Peter Gabrial sing on it or was it after he left and Phil Collins does the vocals? They do both kinda sound alike. Thanks in advance.

Genesis, huh....

Let's take a look - Peter Gabriel left Genesis in mid 1975 after The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway was released - to actually get married and raise his young daughter and help out with his new baby son. In late 1977, he released "Solsbury Hill" off his first solo album, the self titled, Peter Gabriel.

Genesis released a few albums after Peter left. In 1976, came A Trick of the Tail - with Bill Buford, the ex-Yes drummer, sitting in on that 1976 tour. Then on the 1976 album released later that year, Wind and The Wuthering - Chester Thompson replaced Buford. Steve Hackett was replaced on guitar by Daryl Steurmer for the 1977 album Seconds Out. Then Steurmer and Thompson left - leaving only three remaining members, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford and Phil Collins, for the 1978 album ...And Then There Were Three...

Is "Misunderstanding" off of 1981's Abacab? Let's check.... no, it's on the prior album 1980's Duke and yes, Phil Collins does sing the main vocal.

"Misunderstanding" by the way is reminiscent of the Beatles song, 1965's "No Reply"

Here are the the two songs, side by side, check the similarities in lyrics:

Part I

Misunderstanding - Anthony Banks, Michael Rutherford, and Phil Collins

There must be some misunderstanding
There must be some kind of mistake
I waited in the rain for hours
And you were late

Now it's not like me to say the right thing
But you could've called to let me know
I checked your number twice, don't understand it
So I went home

Well I'd been waiting for this weekend
I thought that maybe we could see a show
Never dreamed I'd have this feeling
Oh but seeing you is believing
That's why I don't know why
You didn't show up that night

There must be some misunderstanding
There must be some kind of mistake
I was waiting in the rain for hours
And you were late

Since then I've been running around trying to find you
I went to the places that we always go
I rang your home but got no answer
Jumped in my car, I went round there
Still don't believe it
He was just leaving

There must be some misunderstanding
There must be some kind of mistake...

Part II

No Reply - John Lennon, Paul McCartney

This happened once before
When I came to your door
No reply
They said it wasn't you
But I saw you peep through your window

I saw the lie, I saw the lie
I know that you saw me
As I looked up to your face

I tried to telephone
They said you were not home
That's a lie
Cos I know where you've been
I saw you walk in your door

I nearly died, I nearly died
Cos you walked hand in hand
With another man in my place

If I were you'd realise that I
Love you more than any other guy
And I'll forgive the lies that I
Heard before when you gave me no reply

I've tried to telephone
They said you were not home
That's a lie
Cos I know where you've been
I saw you walk in your door

I nearly died, I nearly died
Cos you walked hand in hand
With another man in my place

No reply, no reply

Yes, and get your tickets for Genesis at a concert hall near you, as they are back together on tour after 20 years... The three of them anyway, unfortunately without Peter Gabriel.

I got a question now for you Benny....

Was Mike D'Abo, the ex-Manfred Mann member,

1. the lead vocalist on their hit of "The Mighty Quinn" which was a remake of the Bob Dylan song in 1968....

And was he also

2. the lead singer on the Foundations hit, "Build Me Up Buttercup" in 1969?

If my memory stands correctly, yes, as I believe he was one in the same, the main singer on both.

John, I did some investigating as I was not a great Manfred Mann fan though I do like some of their songs. Mike D'Abo did sing lead vocals in "The Mighty Quinn" while he was with that group.
He did co-write "Build Me Up Buttercup" with Tony Macaulay while he was with the Foundations and played organ on that track but he didn't sing lead on that song.

Did you know that Klaus Voormann played bass with Manfred Mann?
