It's remarkable how well dogs are able to recover. Snoopy will be 16 in may. He had to have his last remaining teeth removed a year ago, but he adapted well. I was worried because he had more and more trouble walking, but for the last 10 months he got a Librela injection once a month, it helped a lot with his arthrosis. If anyone has an older dog (and you can afford it) who suffers from arthrosis and is in pain, it's worth a try.

I'm sure you're feeding Snoopy the best you can find. It may be a little more expensive, but have you tried fresh food? It's nutritionally really good for them without all the fillers and preservative chemicals. Over here, I've started using "The Farmers Dog." Maybe there's someone in Europe who does that.

If you can get to this link, you can see what is involved. I really like this company, plus the customer service has been friendly and excellent.

Thank you Walt, but he has allergies, so I'm already feeding him food that was suggested by the veterinarian (he doesn't sell it or earn anything from it, so I don't think he's biased), which is honestly more expensive than my food and probably of better quality :signhammer: . He loved it for about a week, now he spits it out. He was always picky, I cooked, I tried everything, yesterday I ordered a few tubes of liverwurst for dogs, I hope this will make him eat his food. It's crazy what you do for a dog, but I promised to take good care of him and I love him, so yeah, I guess I'm a crazy dog lady now :signhammer:

I know what you mean by every bit of that, Liz. Sounds like Snoopy and Bailey are twins.

I CAN say that Bailey has finally settled on The Farmers Dog. She is 2 years old this month. She was maybe 6-7 months old when I got her. It took about a year to find her something she liked. She mostly just picked at it or ate slowly, maybe a little now and more later. After maybe 10 months, she settled on Pedigree wet food. She would eat it, but slowly. Others I had tried she would only nibble at.

But once I decided to try The Farmers Dog, that was it. She loves it. Now she stands on her hind feet jumping at me for her meal. Her fur has thickened up. She does seem to be a little heavier, tho. I need to find a way to weigh her to keep track of that. The food is supposedly formulated based on your dogs age, weight and breed. It is formulated to give your pup the proper caloric intake to maintain a proper weight. Her annual rabies shot is due, so I'll get her weighed at the vet.

You are absolutely right about following your vets recommendations. I will certainly discuss The Farmers Dog when I take her in for her shots and check-up. I also know that there are other fresh foods, some cheaper. Like Snoopy's, Bailey's food is a bit expensive - easily over twice what I was feeding her before. But if it's a better quality and good for her (and she likes it) well, I'm like you. Sometimes Bailey is an aggravating little bugger, but she's so cute and I love her, too.

That farmer's dog company must be making an absolute killing if they can afford to advertise during the Super Bowl half time! Total tear jerker commercial too, did anyone see it?

I missed it. But I recorded the game for just that reason - so I could go back today and zip through the commercials looking for the few good ones. I'll look it up.

Yeah, considering what those commercials cost, lol.

That small dog is 11 years old, has no teeth, yet it jumped a coyote to protect a sibling dog! Unreal! This is why you gotta love dogs!

When a dog loves you, the love is unconditional and unreserved.

We went to a Rays game today and we didn't know that it was dog days of summer so we would have been allowed to bring our dogs with us! There's so many of them it was so much fun!

Don't lie to me! I can smell it on you! Hahaha...

On another note, it is unbelievable how many geckos we have here now! Our patio is completely crawling with them everywhere you look.. this is the first summer here without Loki our Jack russell, she used to be on gecko patrol all the time. The yard was a gecko graveyard before. I was forever picking up a dead geckos that she killed I had no idea what a big difference she made!

I only have two now since we lost our Jack she was 18 years old.

The brindle is Skittles who seems to have found a new way to sleep on a chair lol and the other one is Harvey who I am sure you have seen trying to jump into my camshows!
