Just googled it, one site said 66 days to create a new habit. Other sites said other things.
This article breaks it down easy though.

Well, I tried quitting the VNA once (over a woman, lol,) and I didn't even make it two days. So much for breaking THAT habit.

Lol, was I? A week or two, maybe? I may have not said anything, but, from what I remember, I was still looking, reading the forum. I can't remember for sure. I remember that my membership was good for another 3 months or so. I had bought the 6 month option. So even tho I had stopped rebilling, I still had access until the end. And, I decided "The Hell with this" before the three months was up.
It didn't work anyway. The bitch still dumped me. Bottom line is, I'm BAAAAAAAACK!!!!

So some websites claim that a new habit can take as little as 21 days and as much as a 9 months. Most websites however lean toward the 21 day mark, but I think that number is a little too low. My muscle memory is still launching me toward the fridge handle the second I get home from work every night. That habit is taking a long time to break, but I'll get there.

So I have officially had a major Christmas "cheat day" today. Thank Gawd that all of my official holiday gatherings are over for the season. Now I can get back into my somewhat normal routine once again.
Curses my sister for bringing over to my house some amazing shortbread cookies and Nanimo bars (its a Canadian thing...look it up)
Oh, and on a side note, you can burn 150 calories an hour by banging your head against a wall.

I went to the gym this morning, and had to drive around the block to find a place to park! That has never happened before! Then the cubbies where we keep all our stuff while working out was full! That has never happened before either! I stood there looking around and muttered something like "wtf..... " under my breath and another girl, (a regular) said, yeah it's all the new Year's resolution people, just wait till Feb/Mar it will be back to just us again. I laughed... but I thought ... how sad.... Did you know that a gym's entire business model is based on the fact that people will never use their memberships. If everyone showed up there would be no way they could accomodate them. What a business, it's really like no other. Where you hope customers will not show up...

Well, after labouring through a very hectic and festive holiday season of playing "Scale Roulette" I'm hoping to be back on track to getting my s#!t back together. If only I could get Connie to quit bringing home those damn delicious Costco pumpkin pies my weight loss planning would be golden !!!

For the record - as a Professional (well ex-professional) I can see that you put work in on that lovely body of yours.
By the way, love the new workout gear you have on in the avatar!

Yeah I got away from it for a bit, I was so busy working on all the sites I seriously was just sitting in front of the computer from the time I woke up till I went to bed. I have tried to ramp it up a bit the last 4 or 5 months.... Xmas/New Years and Dave's Mom kind threw a monkey wrench into it! Like Mike, I gained a few pounds back too... British people really like Fish n Chips! lol... But I'm back at it again, my trainer at the gym actually told me that I had progressed so much that there wasn't much else she could do and suggested that I start seeing her trainer also. So now I go to him 2x and her 2x for a total of 4 workouts per week. Plus try to run with the dogs a few times a week. I'm sure it will pay off, just the mental stress relief is worth it!
I did go running in that hat in my avatar while I was in Niagara Falls!

Bouncing around the 50lb mark for the past couple of weeks...proud of my progress so far but have a way to go...slow and steady wins the race.
Oh hey, this just in...I'm mixing in a few of these to curb my Coca-cola habit. Yes, I'm down to only 1 a day, but have started trying Coke Life...half the calories of regular Coke...surprisingly it has some taste, zero aftertaste, which is what I hate about Coke Zero...that shit is disgusting. But if you want to trim off a few calories Coke Life might be the one for you...its sweetened with cane sugar and stevia extract, which beats the hell out of aspartame. That stuff is horrific...probably causes cancer in rats.

Here's something to try - bet you it works.
Sit at your desk and start moving your right foot around in a circle in a clockwise direction.
Now using your right hand draw a figure 6 in the air.
What happens to your foot - it changes direction.
I have power over your body!!
