That looks interesting. I think it's really interesting that they've made a whole story line to go along with the on-line game. But, to wait a year is a long time, lol.
Semper Fuck!!

More and more games are going digital download only. I so much prefer having a physical copy of the games. I could understand if they charged less for the digital only copy as there are no extra production, packaging or shipping costs, but they charge exactly the same. Games, music and movies are going more and more digital and less physical copiesStevieP wrote: ↑August 15th, 2021, 2:46 pm Unfortunately that's the Limited Run Games way... they make nice physical editions of games only available originally as downloads, and they only make a couple of thousand of each (hence their company name) - so you have to get in quick when they go on presale because they can go very fast, but then you are doing all this before they've even entered production - which is why it takes it's time!
As a collector I do prefer physical copies as well - and in actual fact getting physical copies can be cheaper than buying them digitally anyways! I am the same with movies as well because the way licensing works with those streaming services you don't know how long a movie is going to be available for on which platform - if at all!greggl wrote: ↑August 15th, 2021, 10:46 pm More and more games are going digital download only. Good job you've realised that in the expensive hobbies thread! Hehe! I used to be so into collecting DVDs... I would buy films I hadn't actually seen - that would be my first viewing of them! Then when blu ray come out I was buying my favourites over again! It is one of the things I really have cut down on, although I still upgrade to 4K if it's a particular favourite. I've still got VHS tapes lol
The nice game box made me think of a couple of very talented artists (in Norway, I believe) who make really cool gaming-related art pieces. If you want to increase the amount of money your hobby is consuming, take a look at their stuff. They made a fishtank-sized fantasy scene out of a huge amount of epoxy.StevieP wrote: ↑August 15th, 2021, 10:56 am Recently received the Limited Run Games collector's edition of Return of the Obra Dinn, a game I already owned digitally on another platform, but now for Playstation with all sorts of lovely items included. The only real issue I have with getting things via Limited Run games is you pre-order them before it's even manufactured... so I bought this set last Summer and received it this month! Sometimes I forget what I ordered... which makes a nice surprise when it turns up a year later!
Yet another "hobby" I forgot about. The thing I like about physical DVDs and BluRays is the extras. Watching the episodes of Futurama with the commentary turned on is great! That's why I really appreciate shows that put commentaries on every episode. Often the voice actors are as entertaining as their characters. I don't like the streaming services' business model, so I don't participate. But, I have heard that viewers don't get access to the commentary tracks, "making of" features, etc. That's another reason for me not to participate.StevieP wrote: ↑August 17th, 2021, 1:49 pmGood job you've realised that in the expensive hobbies thread! Nerdforge is one of my YouTube subscriptions, Erik. I love their stuff.ErikB wrote: ↑August 18th, 2021, 2:05 am The nice game box made me think of a couple of very talented artists (in Norway, I believe) who make really cool gaming-related art pieces. I just found them recently. I don't subscribe to anything because I refuse to have to get a gmail account. I just have a lot of websites organized into various bookmark lists. They are under "crafts". When I want to see what is going on in that category, I select "open all in tabs", and let the browser do the work. Then I check each tab to see if it has anything new.
Same here. Also, with the favorites that I currently own, I worry about the continuing decrease in quality and availability of the stand-alone and portable players. I dread the day when Techmoan reviews the old CD/DVD/BluRay players. Techmoan is a technology reviewer in England. While the majority of his stuff seems to be obscure audio and video formats from various countries, he has also covered nixie clock kits and other fun gizmos. He also has reviewed some strange kitchen gadgets. At the end of some of his videos he also used to have skits using two or three muppets that he created. They started out being sarcastic comments on some of the stupid or abusive comments he would get in his YouTube comments. The young male muppet represents that stereotype. The female muppet (wife or girlfriend, I think) is the voice of reason. And the older male muppet represents a different voice of wisdom. He stopped putting the puppet skits at the end of the videos because YouTube decided they would attract kids and demonetized his videos.
"Age Restricted" is another category that I see some videos marked with. I can't see them because I refuse to have an account. Perhaps YouTube wants you to mark your videos with that label. Do you have a copy that you can post here?WalterB wrote: ↑August 20th, 2021, 2:50 pm I've been banned from YouTube, thanks to Vicky

What I don't get is those (I think there were two) were marked "Private, meaning supposedly that they wouldn't even show up in searches and were only available to anyone who had the link.
Now, I do know that they made some recent classification changes, and that may be what got me. I'll have to look that up.
Do close-ups count? Probably not, since most people can't remember back that far ....WalterB wrote: ↑August 20th, 2021, 4:23 pm It's already here somewhere. I'll see if I can find it. They may have changed Private to Age-restricted or something, I can't remember. It is mostly just 'bathing suit stuff, with a couple of tit-shots thrown in. I mean, name me ONE kid who hasn't seen female breasts, lol.
