Right now, it's 40 and sunny where I am in South Louisiana, but we get our ice down starting Sunday. Mid to upper teens for lows New Years' Day through Wednesday night, with daytime highs only near freezing.

I'm kinda mad, though, because with that kind of cold, I want some snow down here. Unfortunately, it's not happening this time.

It was 0 on the porch this morning. I thought that was bad until I read some of the other postings. All a matter of perspective. lol

Zero is pretty damn cold, Brigit, Hard39 and any of us other northerners would certainly agree with you.

I was out in the snowcat again the other night, grooming the ski hill with my buddy. -11 Fahrenheit at the summit, before windchill.

I guess overnight it got down to -20's and we've got something called a "bomb cyclone" headed our way on Thursday. Expecting ice/snow and very high winds. I've got a good stockpile of firewood in-case we lose power.

Today was in the 40's here in florida! People are freaking out and don't know what to do with themselves. There are cold weather shelters opening up for the homeless people. They are asking for donations of blankets and warm clothes.

In the winter here when it hits 40F, people celebrate and head to the nearest patio to have lunch outdoors. It's gunna be in the 40's here by this afternoon and over the weekend. People are dancing in the streets and making lunch reservations.

Major snow storm here in nj. no school today possibly tomorrow too..

I will ever understand weather.

Best I can say about that is the trend extends all the way to Arizona, where I'll be this weekend. In the Phoenix/Tucson ares, the high Friday will be 77, which is still bearable. I just don't want nothing cutting my pool time.

Why do we lose power here in Florida every single time it rains? Was off again all night, all our computers were off this morning, saying "windows did not shut down correctly, do you want to start in safe mode?".....

Do you have a power back-up battery? Or whatever they call those things? Of course, that wouldn't help if you are in bed asleep. I'm sure you have reasons for not shutting down at night.

Yes we do all the computers are attached to UPS's but they only give you 30 minutes to shut down so it doesn't really help if you're not home or you're asleep.

We are having torrential downpours here right now. If for any reason I'm not in my cam show that will be why.! I'm kind of surprised we still have electricity right now!

Well, glad that went ok. sure hope it stays ok.

Now: 43, rainy, and soon to be stormy for some reason.

Friday the 13th we had thunderstorms, a tornado in extreme NE of the state, also ping pong sized hail. Sat. we then had 3" of snow! Mother Nature does not think it is supposed to be April showers I guess!

Believe it or not this is the view from our deck today...I put the picnic table out yesterday in hopes of maybe seeing a glimmer of hope for Spring...not to be. And more snow expected tonight. It's been a record winter for snowfall...the most in 50 years in these parts. We are officially sick of this winter/spring

Wow! Mother nature gone crazy these past few days! Now its cool here...low 60's this morning so a difference of 25 degrees in a day but nothing like 44 degrees difference like Sergeant Eddie!

We have winter storm warning starting at 1:00 am tomorrow. Can get up to 10" of snow in places! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Crazy weather I see in Hawaii with a 6.9 earthquake and volcanic eruptions...

Amazing no one was hurt? Have they known/expected this eruption for some time now? So they were well prepared?

We have another tropical storm coming our way.... Alberto. Gonna be a rainy Memorial Day weekend! Was hoping to shoot a little bit this weekend, oh well, we will see what happens! It's not coming for us really, it's headed for Louisiana (Anthony!)
