Yes, Erik, I would assume they have AC. The problem comes when you gotta go out to refill the ole ice box.

It's been staying 100° - 107° for a couple weeks here. But that's OK. It's staying 110° - 115° out in Tucson.

Hmm, I have family in Tucson. Hope they are doing OK.

The warmest I have ever experienced personally is 118F - and no air conditioning.

Wow! I hope it was dry for you both. And Lance, how long were you exposed to that? I don't think I would have survived.
Actually, I just remembered your history lesson on India, Britain, and The Colonies. This is a Mark Twain quote:
In India, cold weather is merely a conventional phrase and has come into use through the necessity of having some way to distinguish between weather which will melt a brass door-knob and weather which will only make it mushy.

The 118 was a hot spell in Delhi one summer. But temperatures over 112 are pretty much par for the course.

Hold on to that quote from Mark Twain. I have something to post but will need time to find it. I'm in the middle of a move this weekend, will post it when I'm back on Monday.

Have a good weekend, everyone.

It rained of course, on moving day. And getting appliances through the door was a challenge. But it all worked out.

Winter in (parts of) India.
I think those girls in the last pictures must have been brainwashed by the Boston Bruins...

Weather here was better than forecast. Very wet on Saturday, quite nice on Sunday.

And Lytton BC reported a high 46C - 116F. Highest temperature ever recorded anywhere in Canada!

I didn't realize it was so cool in your part of Texas. I suppose you should consider yourself lucky compared with what a lot of the US is facing.

I guess I should count myself very fortunate where I am. Sunny days with highs around 30C (90F), some rain and cloud, but nothing torrential.

Canada Day coming up tomorrow, followed in 3 days by my uncle's birthday....

Quiet day here today. Hopefully this is because everybody is out enjoying summer (Elsa notwithstanding).

Have a good weekend, everyone.

Don't know which is worse? Hot and humid drains you but at least your own sweat cools you down? A little? Hot and dry your sweat evaporates and you overheat more?

EDIT: I assumed because when I run in the humidity I'm very wet and the breeze on my wet skin feels good but I guess I got it ass backwards according to Google and everywhere? https://www.aaas.org/news/humid-heat-al ... me-regions

Rats! I was going to tell you that, lol. The sweat evaporating in the dry heat is what cools your body. The wetter the air (higher humidity) the less evaporation occurs.

When I hang my wash, it is pretty dry in an hour and ready to collect in 90 minutes. If I hang it out an hour or so after a good rain, it'll take several hours to dry.

When you're running, yes, the breeze on your wet skin will feel good. But notice that you have to stop and wipe it off. That's because it isn't evaporating. You very seldom see anyone here sweating. Yes, you see wet shirt armpits and even front and back, which will occur with strong exertion. But, just walking around? You won't see it. And those sweaty shorts will dry out in 10 or 15 minutes.
