And they wonder why they attract a certain type of people who overreact and are prone to choose /possibly enjoy / idolize violence?

Turns out, she's 69 today (dare I say it? A wonderful birthday for a pretty lady AND her guy, lol.)

Anyway, the newspaper, in reporting on this, says that she is an actor.

Actor? Dang, I always thought she was an ACTRESS!

The problem is, you are totally eliminating the female gender from ALL ACTING! Every person in the industry is male. There ARE no more actresses. I assume they've all retired.

I wonder how many women enjoy finding their female descriptives all replaced with male descriptives.

I say she's ALL woman!

Happy Birthday, Daisy.
Happy Birthday Catherine/Daisy.

The English language needs a gender neutral way of addressing persons:

he/she = hse?
him/her = hir? (Can't use hem, its already taken)

Catherine/Daisy I think is married to Ringo Starr... and both AA devotees after years of booze and alchohol abuse...

How about "they?" A certain segment of society has co-opted that word because they're neither male nor female.

:lmao:

"They" works sometimes. But writing gender neutral reports is challenging and definitely requires some mental contortions. Perhaps we should alternate. Reports written in even years will be masculine, reports from odd years will be feminine?

Since we are rapidly becoming eloi under corporate morlocks, perhaps we should stop referring to ourselves as people and start thinking of ourselves as merely protein based automata.

(Eloi and Morlocks are from HG Wells' Time Machine in case anyone is wondering.)

Reminds me of the line in Silence of the Lambs: "I'm having a friend for dinner".

Anyway, I is off to Sacramento for the weekend. Niece's wedding. Leave tomorrow, back Monday midnight.

Thank you Vicky. Missing phones notwithstanding, I will make a conscious effort to attend more shows.

Thanks Walt. Arrived back home at 2 am this morning.

Ottawa to Sacramento for the weekend is NOT recommended as a break. And even less so when there is an unplanned 2+ hour drive each way to Stanford and back in that same weekend. Hopefully I'll be back on track tomorrow.
