VNA Member Get Together - Exxxotica Atlantic City, Apr 11-13

We got up at 6 am this morning, dropped the dogs at the kennel by 7 and headed to Orlando to catch our flight. Thank goodness we left early cause traffic was a nightmare, we just made it on time for our 10:35 flight!

I am soooo bummed! We ordered and paid for a booth with space for 3 tables. First Gabby cancels, then Siri. So disappointed I don't get to do my strapon scene with Siri.

So it was me and Deauxma left which I figured wouldn't be bad, and maybe we could shoot as well. I offered the 3rd table to Housewife Kelly for free, since I already paid for it anyway and she accepted. We also set up a scene to replace what I was missing with Siri. Then yesterday she emails me that she is not coming, it's not worth it financially for her. Well that sucked but it was still me and Deauxma.

When I get off the plane this afternoon and turn on my phone, there is a text from Deauxma saying that they are not coming either.

So here I am all alone in this big booth, lol... with hardly anything to put in it! A lot of our stuff was in the trunk of Larry & Deauxma's car from the last show, and Spirit Airlines is so freakin' cheap with their 40 lb suitcases... you even have to pay extra for a carry on! So we didn't bring much....

Sure Sunny is here somewhere, but paid to be in another booth and Sara Jay is around too with her own booth. OK I'll stop bitching, who knows it could turn out to be a smash hit!

We've been burning the candle at both ends recently, so we took a nice nap once we got here and feel much better. Atlantic City is very cool, I ran 3.5 miles on the boardwalk tonight, it was really cold, well prob not for some of you, but for us floridians who have no blood left anymore it was cold, especially after I was all sweaty from running and then walking back looking in all the stores. Stopped at 2 of the 6 starbucks on the boardwalk just to warm up... It hasn't changed that much since I was here 20 years ago! Some of the same restaurants still here! It has a good vibe and it's not very expensive at all. (except for our hotel, which we are only staying at because exxxotica is here and it's easier in 5 inch heels to stay in the same hotel as the convention, and less schlepping... ). The rooms are $219 per night, plus $12 internet, I was gonna go run on the treadmill in the gym but was shocked that it's an extra $20 per day to use the gym. Yikes, I'll run outside....

Really looking forward to tomorrow. Friday is "LADIES GET IN FREE" so I'm expecting it to be a really big day.

Well that sucks about Deauxma and Siri not going i was looking forward to meeting them again

Well i'll be there saturday nite, idk what time cuz it's an 8 hr drive and i'll probably get lost for a couple hours on the way (i have Walt's GPS lol). i'll see if i can leave early in the am.

i'll definitely see you Sunday at the convention once i grab my ticket.

Well, IMHO, to cancel (because it's not financially viable for me) after telling you she'd be there, is unacceptable. You make sure you want to go, that you can go, and then you accept. But apparently you didn't put out any money for her. Something to keep in mind for the future, tho.

So Deauxma canceled with all if your stuff in her trunk. What the hell is wrong with people? Sorry, Deauxma, there may be more to the story, but from whay I see here, that was just wrong. If you make a committment, you stand up for that committment. If you cancel at the last minute after making a commitment, it better be because somebody is dead!

You are smart, resourceful amd very capable, so I know you will make lemonaide out of lemons.

You ever notice that, the more expensive something gets the cheaper it gets?

La Quinta (Spanish for "high speed internet," $60/nite) gives you a room, parking (free,) free breakfast (some places,) pool (free,) Gym (someplaces, free) newspaper, and high speed internet, all free.

Top o' the Town, $200/night, Internet ($12,) Gym ($20,) how about breakfast and parking? Seems like the high-falutin' places are really the cheap places. And I don't mean pricewise. (Steps down off of )

Yes there is more to the story, I know that Deauxma has a really good reason, she's not flaky at all. She had some sort of medical emergency, they were already in the car on the way, think they made it all the way to Charlotte and then turned back. I didn't mean to make her look bad, it's just not my place to talk about her business on the net, until she does. So I don't say anything until I see they do on their twitter or whatnot...

Ok, I'm sorry I dissed her. Of course you don't want to talk about someone else's issues here, but maybe you could have just mentioned that she had an emergency pop up that required her to turn around and go back home, something like that. Then I wouldn't have said a word. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Deauxma has always struck me as a straight up person. I appreciate the explanation.

And sometimes I open my yap before I know all the details, don't I?

It's just that I see so much rudeness these days. My nephew and sister are great examples. I love them both, but they have no sense of "other people." And it get's very frustrating. And I've seen plenty of other cases where someone changes plans mainly because something better came along, or they just decided they wanted something else, after promising to be somewhere or to do something. And a lot of times, don't even bother with telling the person involved -- just don't show up.

In the case of "Housewife Kelly, you said that she just decided that it wasn't economical for her. To me, again, that's not a good excuse. The time to make that decision is before you make a commitment. And, like you said, you hadn't put out any money for her, so maybe it's no harm, no foul. I just know I don't have a lot of patience for such things. Think I'm an idiot? Could be.

If there's one person who deserves the benefit of the doubt, it's Deauxma. She is definitely NO flake, and you don't drive from Texas to Charlotte and then turn right back around unless it's pretty serious. I'm sure she'll more than make it up for us when TEXASSCON rolls up later this year.

It is what it is. Deauxma had a legitimate reason. Frankly having been here yesterday it is NOT the greatest convention...

1. The first 2 hours were dead as a doornail

2. There are NOT a ton of girls here. In fact a lot of the supposed stars had cleared out early last night (the booth with all the ''stars'' was empty an hour early.

3. By Sunday I think it will be relatively empty

The only bright spots? Seeing Handcock. Having Joselyn James around. We might try to get home early flights willing.

I am pretty sure this might be the last Atlantic City convention we do. It was/is just too expensive.

Don't beat me up too hard, guys. I admitted sometimes I open mouth, insert foot, then put brain in gear. I should have known up front that Deauxma would have had a good reason for not making it. And, I did apologize. Don't let me near the edge of a mountain, I'll probably jump off and then decide if it's a good idea.

That was a good interview, Vicky. The guy sounded rather breathless, like indeed he should, lol. (And he was right about the "49" thing. You lieeeeeeeeeee!)

It has been fun to watch Exxxotica Atlantic City! The people are funny when they are walking by and then see themselves on the computer. They look like they freak out! It is funny! Vicky has been wearing some really hot outfits!!! It was good to see SaraJay, Sunny Lane and Rita Daniels. Nice tour that we got from Rokkerr and Handcock! They look they were having fun! Thank you Vicky and Rokkerr!

Trying to get the inside scoop on this but after the show the ''Fanny's'' took place...
.. the Awards that the convention guys put on.

Apparently Alexis Texas threw a drink in the face of a club owner, so he threw his drink in her face... causing a broohaha...
Not sure what the end result was but I do know the cops were involved...
