DrDave, in some cases the different members are one & the same person. IP check & IP-location check clearifies this immediately.

I know Carl, and I was in the process of getting IP's on 'suspicious' looking names when she yanked them out, and hadn't gotten to their IP's yet, if I see them again I will, and they didn't both get kicked at the same time, she took one out about 5 minutes into the show, and the other about 30 minutes into the show, they might have been the same, but in this case I don't think so.carl goldfinger wrote:DrDave, in some cases the different members are one & the same person. Kyran Dyer, aka Robert Redford,aka jason derulo, started trouble in Lauren's show this evening, was muted after a warning in the room, to cool it, Lauren explained to him in detail what she would be doing, and what he'd have to wait for, got muted when he didn't listen, signed out on his own, came back as Robert Redford, and started right back up, was warned to stop and then told NOT to return to the show today then kicked, returned as jason derulo, I told him I'd told him not to return, he made one comment to Lauren as I was double confirming his IP then I banned him. Pushy, demanding, anal fixiation, either didn't understand english or chose not to, I believe the second because after one incident he did say " OK sorry", but then started right back with his demands, and comments, was disturbing Lauren and I didn't feel like I had much option, after a mute, kick and told not to return to the show today, returned anyway, and so I banned him. I've passed his IP on to Vicky, and I have the transcript upon request.
We seem to be plagued by several people lately who seem to think that demanding, and directing are perfectly OK, I noticed one in Vicky's show., they smartly straightened up after Vicky talked to them, there were a couple in Monica's show, but stayed just inside the line, two in Paris's show, again after multiple warnings, stayed just inside the line, though I might have kicked them if they had kept their level of demanding and directing up, Paris is pretty good at tolerating them, and letting me know if she wants someone taken out, and then came Laurens show, started right off, and wasn't listening to Lauren, myself,or people in the room asking him to sit back and enjoy the show. Was muted less than 3 minutes when he decided to sign out on his own, and come back under another name (Robert Redford), and it went downhill from there. Talked to Lauren after the show, and she'd just prefer this particular person not attend another of her shows, as she said it upsets everyone.
Walt, I should have said more when I muted him, I thought about playing the "asshole alert" but that clip runs so long that it really disrupts the show, and I was trying to get things back on track without upsetting Lauren more, next time I'll make a better general announcement to the room if I have to Gag someone, I wish the board had some type of RED LETTER ANNOUNCEMENT that a Gag has taken place, (like the announcements that happen with a KICK and a BANNED) it would make it easier to alert the room that the Admin is on top of things. But I understand changes in the program cost big bucks, so I'll just have to remember to be a bit more forceful in letting the room know that someone is being gagged, and why. Users were appreciative of the Mute, Kick, and Banning.

Yeah, that's the main thing, that the room knows that we are "on it." I am not too crazy about when the membership starts "moderating." I would prefer that they whisper their displeasure to us, as 6 moderators in the room don't help. But regardless, either way, it's helpful to show their displeasure to help alert us that it's time to act.
Like you say and I've mentioned before, there is no "alert" when you mute someone. So, I always immediately post "So-and-so muted by moderator" just so people know I am working. I also like to use red bold text as a moderator to be sure that it stands out. I also think the red carries a little more force.
Maybe Vicky can look into that. Vicky, can an alert be added to the mute button, like the Kick and Ban buttons? Something like, So-and-so has been Muted? It seems like that used to happen in an earlier iteration of the board, but I can't remember positively. If it is an added expense, don't worry about it. Maybe the moderators will remember to post something.

I welcome everybody one by one, to let them know that I am here, the moderator & administrator.
Black & Bold is my favorite, because of the highest contrast.
I recognised that some newbies went out of the room, immediately after my welcome.
I bet there have been many suspects, hiding evil in their mind.
OK, that doesn't avoid some fools to be foolish & ignorant, but it's like a first filter.
At the beginning of my career as a moderator, I saw Rokkerr doing that, with a good effect. So, I tried it myself & I'm still OK with it.
It's not everyone's thing to go my way, because it's a lot of work to type all that.
Apart from this, I follow the usual procedures to manage offenders.
Regarding the "Red Message": If you gag, kick or bann someone, a red message will be posted in the open room automatically, like "XXX got banned by moderator" .

No, Carl, no message is posted when you gag someone, only when you kick or ban them. Like I said, I seem to remember that it used to do that, but not now. We've tested it to be sure. Kick = message, but mute = no message.

Confirmed gentlemen.
Bearclaw and I Hate to Refresh (also known as hatestorefresh) are one and the same, same IP down to the last digit, same location, same MO, it match's about any way I can get a match, since blood draws are forbidden or at least damned hard to do from up here, blood type, and such can't be matched from one user to the other, but I'd say with about 99.9% certainly they are one and the same.
Thanks to a problem with Foxy Anya's show freezing up we now have the proof!

Folks, as you know, we are having troubles with Kaito Grey again. So, I am asking you to please not respond to anything he says. All that does is incite him and escalate the situation. To totally ignore someone is the only way to soon shut him up. If no one pays any attention to him, he will get tired and go away.

Good morning, guys. There's a chance that our friend (NOT!) Kaito Grey has been handled again. But, as always, stay vigilant. If he shows up again, to help Webair, please do the following:
Quickly open a Word document and a window to an IP checker. It might not be a bad idea to do this anyway for the next few days, when you first log in, just so you're ready.
If he shows up, immediately copy his IP and run it thru your IP Checker. Then paste the IP into your Word document. Add the log-in name used (Kaito Grey or some other,) and the location that came up. After your show, place a comment at the top, such as "Justin, here are the IP's I captured for Kaito Grey today at Linda Lou's show for the VNA." Save the document and forward it to "Justin@webair.com."
If KG uses another name to log in, he will be easy to identify by his rants. Webair will use the file you send them to help fix the issue. Like I said, if several days goes by with no issue, maybe we can relax a bit.
If Webair is in the room (Bastardo is one log-in they use,) ask them how they want you to handle it (do they want you to ban him.) Let them take the lead in handling the issue. If Webair is not in the room (they will be logged in as a Moderator,) go ahead and ban him after copying his IP. Webair says you cause him to "burn through" his IPs. I don't know if this means that he has a short list of immediately available numbers or what. But if Webair is not there, go ahead and ban him. Also, as soon as you can, text Vicky or send an email to "vicky@vettenationlive.com" to alert her that he is back. She will get Webair into the room.
Do not get into an argument or comment battle with him. All you do is incite him and give him fuel for his rants. You play into his hands. The best response is to 1) copy his IP, 2) ban him, 3) run the IP thru your checker, 4) post it into your Word document with UserName and Location.
So, be alert, but pray that he has been blocked again.

Just got a reply from Justin. He asks that we continue to send those lists should Kaito reappear. He notes that sometimes Kaito will just sit there and watch. But he will eventually say something, and you will recognize it. Resist the urge to reply to him or ban him until you have collected his IP. Personally, I collect the IP of anyone I'm not sure of. Then, on my list, I add a note that I am "not sure."

In case you haven't noticed, we've a small bug, it shows itself when you try to log on as an admin, you'll get in, but NOT have admin privilages, your icon cop shows up in the 'user' column. BEWARE your Mike is ON, unless you command it off. Some of the models are having this happen also, I tell users to use the ^ in their 'user picture' then drag the picture with their mouse to the size they want. They WILL NOT have the usual model privilages if this happens. (ie no mute,kick, or ban, no IP collection etc.), NOR WILL YOU, IF YOU END UP BEING A 'USER ADMIN". Sign out and back in most often cures the problem, if you get in as a 'user' admin, you will NOT be able to post the models links to the top window either. Vicky is aware of this problem. She's working hard getting the new chat room ready to launch, so we'll probably just have to work around this bug for the time being. It showed up AFTER the bug about not being able to post pictures if you use FF for a browser.

A member named "conar" came in posting weird text over & over.

A member named "conar" came in posting weird text over & over.

I immediately kicked him out after I'd recorded his IP. I left a message in the open chat: "[07.18 19:41]AdminCarl: Conar got kicked because he was offending members... :-( "
He came back as Mandy. ...? our Mandy? Strange text, she was posting !? ...like: "[07.18 19:47]Mandy: you is a shameless grandfather".
I scanned all IPs & found his' on Mandy's....kicked again!
I left a message in the open chat, again: "[07.18 19:50]AdminCarl: conar smuggled in as Mandy... not fair :-( "
He came back with the same IP as Tony, like : "[07.18 19:53]tony: carl, you have fear of Mandy?"
